I'm way late, but fully agree. We used to have several hundred chickens, turkeys, and ducks. one of the first things we'd do when building a new pen is toss a butt ton of fine gravel in, as well as crushed oyster shells.
Anytime you are dealing with flooding you will get nasty visitors. Last year I was dealing with rattle snakes coming into my yard. It was near record flooding and pushed those critters away from their habitat. Be safe!
Doesn't seem like it, I thought for sure when he said he was gonna dispatch it he meant 124grains of copper and lead. I believe that's what most of his viewers would've done.
So Funny story. Had my phone by my laptop and google heard you say squirt trail and searched for it automatically. Had to show my wife. Great way to start the day.
I have not commented in ages, sorry about that, I LOVE your channel and your entire extended family, hope you, your's, and everyone reading this message the best as we all enjoy more time with our families!!!
If I saw a bank like that with a snake(let alone a cottonmouth) and did not have on three foot high, absolute snake bite proof boots on, I would leave(RUN) immediately!!!
I've actually had a water moccasin come right up to my feet while I was bank fishing one day, never have I encountered such an aggressive snake before and boy was it scary lol.
If you got a boot on just stomp his ass into the mud.. water snake has a yellow tail or if and When you DO see a cottonmouth You'll Always Know the diffy.. I've never seen a scary snake , the ones I don't see are possibly scary...js
I was fishing on some rocks and had one slither onto my feet I was wearing steel toed boots so I never felt it my buddy told me I looked down and kicked the snake along with my boot in the water
Dude I live in NW Louisiana, and I feel your plight. Same wildlife as your area. Hogs, heat, mosquitoes, cottonmouths, copperheads, etc. Never a shortage.
I keep seeing these comments. But would you really want to be shooting a simple snake around where people are? I know it's a 22 and not a problem at all but I think the PROPER STICK did the trick!😂🤣😂 Just seems like a waste of AMMO on a small snake. And I'm pretty sure he has an EDC on him allot.
Ubette 2012 Yeah, I cannot believe he isn’t carrying SOMETHING with snake shot in it! Basically you are pointing the pistol down at the ground when you are shooting a snake; so, I don’t think you are likely to hit a neighbor.
LFG you’re the best bud! Love your channel, grew up on the brazos river outside of Houston and watching your channel really makes me feel like I’m back at home. Wish nothing but the best for you and your family. Keep up with the great content!
We always feed our chickens on the ground. That way they pick up small rocks and hard dirt clods for their gizzards. It helps grind up their food for digestion.
YOU ARE THE MANNNNN HONESTLY YOUR THE BEST TH-camR!!!!!!! I’m just starting to try and get vids out like yours, hopefully I will one day and you inspire all of us watching
Cottonmouths produce a very distinct odor too when they are pissed off. Grandpa taught us how to recognize the smell when we were kids. It saved us more than once while we were traipsing around the neighboring farms around ours so we could fish their ponds.
Hope ya get to some water soon. It's been , well cold here recently. Live in the heart of st Louis. Got a great lake within walking distance. But seems like the fish are way behind last year. Water temps are in the upper 40s early and bairly break 53 by the end of the day. All I seem to be able to snag are a few crappie some nice gills and some dinks. Stuff can't last forever. 👍😎
LFG, take the hooks off a J13 floating Rapala and attach rope to a split ring and hook it on the rear hook. works great for gar. The rope only has to be about 2" long to hook the gar.
You absolutely did the right thing...surprised you stayed at the water that long!! Content is cool, but not getting bit by a snake is waaaaay cooler! You and the fam stay safe bro 👊🏾
Recommendation: I suggest that you get the Lacrosse 4X Alpha Snake Boot. It’s a great muck boot that is also snake proof, and very comfortable. You can walk that bank and not have a worry! I got mine last spring, hunted all fall and winter, and now use them for bank fishing. Still comfy! Also, I’m pretty sure it’s the same boot that I’ve seen LunkersTV wearing recently. 👍🏼
Broooooo, epic vid! I love the adventure and everything in your vids. I have actually been inspired to create my own channel and have been loving it. Your videos are absolutely awesome. Thank you for makin these tough times pretty awesome! I can't wait for the next one.
It looks like you have excellent shooting lanes form the deck with your bow. If you can and through proper distancing of coarse borrow Lunkers 6.5 and can. Either way you could add some good ol pork to the freezer and not have to go and possibly get infected at a store. ... mmm wild meat is the best as you know.
Ginnies are good watch dogs. They roost high in the trees. When something unfamiliar enter the yard, they make a lot of noise. An electric fence might help protect your chicken pen at night.
I''ll post this to both channels, but for the chickens do you give them grit or oyster shells? Grit helps break down food in their crop and oyster shells gives them extra calcium. Also, you can add apple cider vinegar to their water to help keep them healthy.
umvhu Hopefully he reads the comments, I live in Johnson County Texas, you have the Black Gumbo mud like we do. I have chickens you need to add a 50 lb bag of play sand and 10 lbs of course grit to your chicken coop. You can get the grit at any feed store.
Must Have Grit is stored in the gizzard and helps the chickens’ digestive system function well and breaks down the food as it should. Soluble/Shell Grit - ground up oyster shells/cockle shells and or limestone. (You can also add ground up eggshells to the mix for an extra calcium boost) You don't have to feed them lettuce, pulled up grass clipping/ weeds work fine
I have a suggestion to help with your chickens. What I suggest is to get rid of any chicken wire and use something like a cattle panel in stead then a trick that a friend of mine tried was to put cattle panel in the ground underneath the run so that nothings can dig under and get in. That might not be practical for you but it's kept coyotes and raccoons out of his coop.
Try getting some "Grit" for your chickens. They sale it in a bag just for chickens. But the cheaper route is construction sand. I go by a local lumber yard and get a 5 gal bucket full for a couple bucks. The chickens will munch on it and it helps digest their food. Hopefully it helps.
I am really enjoying this channel... 22 pistol on hip comes in handy and quiet too...but a 22 rifle is a lot more accurate when your heart is beating so fast... and pretty quiet too. Stay safe sir.
Another thing you can do to keep your chickens safe is take some chicken fence about 2 foot tall and attach it to the bottom of your chicken pen put 1' of the 2' wire on the pen and the other 1' on the ground, that may help keep the critters from digging in. I like your videos keep it up!!
Hey LFG, been a fan for a long time. I do pest control including snakes. You can use mothballs and place them around your yard/home and it acts as a deterrent. And that snake was not being aggressive he thinks you are a predator trying to eat him so he will defend himself. He felt the vibrations of your footsteps and did not want you stepping on him. An aggressive snake is one that actively comes at you not the ones who are coiled up.
There are no aggressive snakes, a few will hold their ground, but almost all will flee if given the chance. If they strike at you , you have already got to close.
Please do an overnight stakeout at your house. Maybe from the balcony. This quarantine may be a good thing for your channel. Stay home and dispatch the hogs and bobcats! Set up a stakeout ASAP- I’m watching for it!
They need grit! Grit and small gravel sits in the gizzard and helps to digest the food. If you're hens are free range and you have a gravel driveway then you dont need to provide it. If they're cooped up, then you need to provide grit. You can layer it with the pellets or crumble you put in their feeder.
About that water moccasin, I know that your friend over at demo-ranch has tested some small “buckshots” for a small .22 caliber (I think) you should bring a small handheld pewpew with some of those ammunition, to take them out! And you might even consider a catch and cook! I know that I would try! Or maybe invite Flair and dare him! 😜
I lived outside San Antonio many years ago and we had a huge problem with snakes. It was impossible to walk in the garden at night and several times we ha d to fish them out of the pool in the mornings. In the end we bought a male and female breeding pair of peacocks. Keep your wife and family safe.
Comments on guys good times. I forgot everything I wanted to say it’s been switched off for so long. Just take care of yourselves and those birds. We have the same problems in the UK but with fox’s instead of bobcats. Happy hunting LFG. 👍🏻
Dude, try not to feel bad. You're new owners. The best thing you can do is keep learning and be persistent, which shouldn't be problem for you. All chicken owners go through these types of things. Keep at it 👍🏻🤘🏻
Put some brush around the back of the trap and on top in the sides . I found out trapping back home when I was a teenager to get him off the farm lands you get a lot more hogs for some reason when you put brush on the back Side because they feel that they were sheltered
The fact you spotted that thing in the brush is amazing.
I never thought of marinating a chicken with olive oil while it was still alive. Nice!
The chickens need fine gravel. They eat small rocks that stay in their gizzards and grind their food so it's easier to digest. GET GRAVEL.
I'm way late, but fully agree. We used to have several hundred chickens, turkeys, and ducks. one of the first things we'd do when building a new pen is toss a butt ton of fine gravel in, as well as crushed oyster shells.
Hogs in the yard sounds like bow practice to me !
3 hogs big boys
Smoke them hogs, then smoke them hogs BBQ 🤣
HELL YES!!
Yes sir! I have some wild hog sausage and it is much better than any store bought sausage that I have ever bought!
Oystershell
LFG do you carry when you’re out around your land? Seems like the hogs are pushing up!
Anytime you are dealing with flooding you will get nasty visitors. Last year I was dealing with rattle snakes coming into my yard. It was near record flooding and pushed those critters away from their habitat. Be safe!
If I had the money saved up to take time off I'd volunteer to go kill everything around his property
Doesn't seem like it, I thought for sure when he said he was gonna dispatch it he meant 124grains of copper and lead. I believe that's what most of his viewers would've done.
I forgot how peaceful it is to use headphones and listen to the sounds of nature at your treehouse. Very relaxing in these trying times
CCI Stingers-solve most of the problems you seem to be having lately. Go a little heavier for the hogs if you need to.
Lake Fork Guy...You are the reason I started makin vids. Love your style and inspiration. Always fun watching you!
So Funny story. Had my phone by my laptop and google heard you say squirt trail and searched for it automatically. Had to show my wife. Great way to start the day.
LFG backyard adventure club! Lovin’ the corona content, keep ‘em rolling!

I've actually had a water moccasin come right up to my feet while I was bank fishing one day, never have I encountered such an aggressive snake before and boy was it scary lol.
That's 1 reason I carry a .22 revolver when bank fishing. Get them around my pond and hate them.
Steven Tyrrell I carry a taurus judge with #7 410 shot shells
Country Boy I carry a sawed off old Remington shotgun with buckshot. That usually gets the job done

A p22 with a lazer sight is lite on the hip and the perfect companion while walking in the woods...
I'd go Ruger. p22 isn't known for reliability
He needs to carry the NAA .22 mini revolver loaded half with snake loads n half hollow points. Barely bigger than a Bic lighter
To each their own.. I love shooting the p22.. I was surprised he didn't have a side 22 of some kind since he's in TX.
Ubette 2012 Yeah, I cannot believe he isn’t carrying SOMETHING with snake shot in it! Basically you are pointing the pistol down at the ground when you are shooting a snake; so, I don’t think you are likely to hit a neighbor.
Just prop the door up with a stick. When they go in they lift it off the stick with their backs and the stick falls over
LFG you’re the best bud! Love your channel, grew up on the brazos river outside of Houston and watching your channel really makes me feel like I’m back at home. Wish nothing but the best for you and your family. Keep up with the great content!
It’s good to see you’re doing better since it’s been about 2-3 years since surgery bless your soul
Just finished watching the unchartered series ,congrats on the win
We always feed our chickens on the ground. That way they pick up small rocks and hard dirt clods for their gizzards. It helps grind up their food for digestion.
YOU ARE THE MANNNNN HONESTLY YOUR THE BEST TH-camR!!!!!!! I’m just starting to try and get vids out like yours, hopefully I will one day and you inspire all of us watching
GO GET OUTDOORS I believe he’s the best also. He’s hilarious and has the most positive attitude and personality.
LFG smart move to play it safe with Venomous snakes !!
🤣 I heard my name I was like whatttt, nope!!!!
Was it you who got the bow?
D Mac no
I’m liking the disc golf basket in the background.
@ the 3:00 mark
Looks like the perfect scenario for a Taurus judge for the snakes and a .45-70 for the pigs
Give your chickens "grit" (small stones) occasionally, it is what helps grind up the food that collects in the gizzard.
Just got my optrel crystal 2.0 so I’m having a pretty good quarantine thanks for asking LFG
Your the best fisherman out of the googan squad hands down
LFG be killing it the content as always! 👊🏽
I love fishing! But man seeing snakes and catching them is a highlight and a dessert for me!
Caught a danger noodle in my patio yesterday. Tis the season. Keep your eyes peeled out there
Cottonmouths produce a very distinct odor too when they are pissed off. Grandpa taught us how to recognize the smell when we were kids. It saved us more than once while we were traipsing around the neighboring farms around ours so we could fish their ponds.
Could you share info about the fly reel on a jigging rod? I have never seen this application, thanks.
"I'm gonna find a proper stick, and I'm just gonna smash it's face in" haha! Dude. Im cracking up right now
Hope ya get to some water soon. It's been , well cold here recently. Live in the heart of st Louis. Got a great lake within walking distance. But seems like the fish are way behind last year. LFG, Lake Aquilla and Whitney are open come over here and fish all you want, just have to pick me up! 😁
Bro I love it when you say danger noodle, and I love the chicken at the end looking like "hey!! Hey, y'all I can see myself right here!!"
LFG, take the hooks off a J13 floating Rapala and attach rope to a split ring and hook it on the rear hook. works great for gar. The rope only has to be about 2" long to hook the gar.
Pleased you staying home now. Don't risk bringing the virus back to the family. You and Jon are the best googans . All the best;
Just carry a heritage rough rider when you're in the woods. 😂😂
That’s what I carry while bank fishing too , plus it makes you look like Wyat Earp which is cool asf .
More snake and hog videos!!!
Love it
You absolutely did the right thing...surprised you stayed at the water that long!! Content is cool, but not getting bit by a snake is waaaaay cooler! You and the fam stay safe bro 👊🏾
so was the one on the log a water moccasin????
Pound the like button for OSG being an epic huntress.
We have been trapping the hogs here and processing them and donating the meat to churches who are giving away meals👍👍
The Weapon Collection A lot of places near me (Texas btw) will take the hog meat after it’s been processed and give it to family’s in need
@@TheOAOMunchMunch yeah if they are cleaned alot of people will take them, individual ppl helping others out etc. In my area at least

Why you keep the plastic wrap on the cork?
Lake Fork where you're at is it illegal to shoot Hogs with your air rifle or Bow Or is it zoned residential
When I killed a cottonmouth, I cut the head off and buried the head , because if you step on it , bad things can still happen....
Are a cottonmouth and water moccasins the same snake???
I love the entire googan team. Started on job b. Love the guy. But, you bring a completely different ball game. And it's good shit! You funny af! Lol
Jon*
Congrats Trevor!
Awesome video again brother. Back in the day they made a lure called a Gar Getter. Basically the same principle as the one you made
The gar fishing here in Texas is definitely insane lures are always better to catch fish on but those big ones love the dead bait
Ginnies are good watch dogs. They roost high in the trees. When something unfamiliar enter the yard, they make a lot of noise. An electric fence might help protect your chicken pen at night.
Crane flies and a bug-a-salt make for a very fun evening!!!
"Tiger King" fly?
Put a container of oyster shells you can get at the feed store, chickens eat this , it goes in their craw, and helps grind up the food.
I''ll post this to both channels, but for the chickens do you give them grit or oyster shells? Grit helps break down food in their crop and oyster shells gives them extra calcium. Also, you can add apple cider vinegar to their water to help keep them healthy.
I think the snake on the thumbnail is actually a banded water snake, which is non-venomous. It looks a lot like a water moccasin though.
Most birds have some sand or gravel in their crop to grind up the food, maybe a large handful coarse sand in the chicken run will help.
umvhu Hopefully he reads the comments, I live in Johnson County Texas, you have the Black Gumbo mud like we do. I have chickens you need to add a 50 lb bag of play sand and 10 lbs of course grit to your chicken coop. You can get the grit at any feed store.
Man i love the color of that Fishing Rod 💚
Will you ever go fishing in Michigan, Like in the great lakes ? That would be pretty badass
Anyone else notice that He didn't say "what's up fishin' freaks how ya doin'." Like he always does😂
You can use a piece of stiff velcro to brush it out too. If you brush it out before you tie it in it'll work out better.
Must Have Grit is stored in the gizzard and helps the chickens’ digestive system function well and breaks down the food as it should. Soluble/Shell Grit - ground up oyster shells/cockle shells and or limestone. This is why you carry a pistol when you go fishing in these sketchy areas. Bang!Dead snake!
Lol the wife's a bad ass with that rebar lol 👏👏

Lakeforkguy dedicate trapping series! Flair does it with success.. sometimes. Heheh
You should get some RedWing snake boots. And a .22 with a little reflex sight is a perfect snake dispatching pew pew.
Is that last couple seconds the cliffhanger for the next video?
They need grit! Grit and small gravel sits in the gizzard and helps to digest the food. If you're hens are free range and you have a gravel driveway then you dont need to provide it. Cool outdoor video.
"Danger noodles"😂
I almost stepped on a water snake, bank fishing on Easter. I dont see them too much up here in northern Illinois, so it sure did scare me.
God bless brother 🙏 and your family

Smith and Wesson 351 PD in .22 magnum, perfect trail, and around the property tool. It's so light, you won't even know you're carrying it. Be safe.
Hi you need to move the logs you have between the trees near the chicken coop as that's where the Bob cat jumped up on.
