Been with them since FL 10, got it for Christmas as a kid and it was by far the best gift I've ever gotten. About to upgrade to the full plugin bundle now that they've added a sick ass reverb plugin in FL 21. Probably never gonna use anything else.
Version 4 of FL studio was my first contact with it back then. I had a demo that came on a Magazine CD-ROM and i was tinkering around with it and realized "Wow!! I can actually work with this thing!!". This was when i was absolutely frustrated with other DAWs like Steinberg Nuendo, Cubase, Ableton Live and basically every other DAW i had been testing. FL studio always felt super intuitive where nothing got into your way and i didn't even have a MIDI keyboard back then but just used my normal computer keyboard to record what i played. No other DAW let me do that. So i could actually easily come to some results and implement all my VST instruments as well. It felt like making music on a playground where it never felt like work but like a fun way of playing around with ideas and making them grow into actual musical pieces.
As an Ableton music producer and EX FL user, I could say that FL Studio has more features than any other DAW and is the most complex software for music production. And I really like that FL gives you Lifetime free updates and not like any other company that will suck your money for a few updates. FL Studio has a REAL opportunity to cover all other known DAWs (Including Ableton). Gr8 video, thank you for sharing!
I remember downloading fl studio when I was 14 back in 2005 to make music for fun, and the tracks would sound awesome. I would make eerie gothic electronic melodic songs, and they sounded real good and I was just fooling around.
I've been using it from day one as a beat box back around 1998. Me and my brother would go clubbing be inspired by the nights music and when i'd get home i'd open fruity up and start trying to make beats. 3 osc was my favorite back in the day making Earth-shattering detuned basses and pads!
My first version was Fruity Loops 3. I had so much fun with it. This was before TH-cam tutorials etc. so I was learning just by trial and error. But it was pretty primitive. It didn't have automation clips, you could automate inside the piano roll though. I only switched to FL 7 which was on a completely different level. I've seen the 4 5 and 5 before this video
I spend "some" time in a 2.0 version back in early 2000's, than had over two decades off and now come back to making music with new version. And still after those 20 years it feels so familiar.
I've been a FL enjoyer since like 2013 or 14 because my brother let me mess around on his copy when I was young. While personally, MIDI export support leaves a lot to be desired, I would still never use another DAW. FL Studio feels like home, and it's extremely intuitive and is genuinely fun to use. Hell, I still discover new stuff in it almost every time I need to find a way to do something. Purely magical. Thank you FruityLoops for giving me the chance to become the musician I am.
I started with Fruityloops 5.0 producer edition. I also am an avid fan of the piano roll. As a guitarist, I love note bending. In FL Studio, you can bend and vibrato notes for native plugins SUPER EASY thanks to the note-slide function. No other DAW can do this simple musical feat as efficiently.
After using 5.0 for WAY too long, I am still deeply grateful that Edison was added in 6, the hell of trying to use the original wav editor (before I wised up and got Audacity) felt like endless suffering, or at least until it inevitably crashed the whole program.
I started on FL Studio 5, but it was a cracked version I got off of burnt cd back in 2007. I played around with demos before then, but FL Studio 5 was the one where I started taking making music seriously. I decided to purchase it in 2008 (it was FL Studio 7 when I bought it), and the rest they say, is history. FL Studio has been my main DAW since then, although I've been messing around with Ableton here and there. However, FL studio will always be my main DAW, been using it till this day. Awesome video!
wow at 04:23 to see a folder named bubnjevi1 and bubnjevi2 (meaning drums).. can't believe someone from Serbia was using this software back then 😅 edit: dope video, thank you for this! 😎
i was on fl since first release in 2001 luney toons and few major reggaeton artist where the first to make major placements with this daw im still on it till this day!
I remember starting on Fruity Loops 3.5. Brings back many memories. I've also used others like Protools, GarageBand, Reason, CuBase, etc. but always felt the most comfortable with FL Studio and still use it to this day. Back then it get as much credibility but now you see major producers working with FL studio.
While I've been a musician for a long time, I've only recently (compared to many people here probably) started to dabble in digital music. I honestly nearly gave up because DAWs always felt foreign and over complicated. I wasn't aware of MIDI controllers at the time, so the only way to make music was to put notes into a piano roll, and every DAW I tried seemed to make that process painful. They always seemed more biased towards recording. Then I tried FL Studio and it just instantly clicked. The superbly engineered core VSTs aside, the piano roll was everything I had hoped for. It was responsive, flexible, and just did exactly what I told it to without putting up a fight. Within minutes I was making music, which is all I ever wanted to do. If it wasn't for FL I wouldn't be making digital music today, so I owe a lot to Image-Line.

Thank u for taking me back
Underrated video 💯👌
These videos are fantastic, well researched, well presented. Just great.
Hope this blows up! Great video
I use it since fl6! Thanx for this video
Great video. Pretty cool to see the history of the versions. 😎
I started with Fruityloops 5.0 producer edition. I also am an avid fan of the piano roll. As a guitarist, I love note bending. In FL Studio, you can bend and vibrato notes for native plugins SUPER EASY thanks to the note-slide function. No other DAW can do this simple musical feat as efficiently.
loved this video
I started on 9.0 .. not a bad time for them... Got 20 now. Loving it
Damn. I was there from 99. Mind blowing
Digging this video. Just subbed.
What a fun and nostalgic video. Been at it since 04 or so, I think it was FL5 if I remember right. Crazy how far IL has come!
This hit my algorithm. You should consider making more videos like this
i got a playlist of em, gonna work on them while im not at my real job as much as i can
After using 5.0 for WAY too long, I am still deeply grateful that Edison was added in 6, the hell of trying to use the original wav editor (before I wised up and got Audacity) felt like endless suffering, or at least until it inevitably crashed the whole program.
Edison is my favorite sampler, by far. It was hard to adjust when going to Ableton and not having it
I started on FL Studio 5, but it was a cracked version I got off of burnt cd back in 2007.
Yo this was great and kept my attention! Great job!
Superb video! Well done. Thanks for the hard work.
cool , we need an update to this video. love it
Top tier quality video. Surely cover Garadgeband next!
Thanks :) I've made a video on GarageBand already! You can see it on my channel :)
amazing video, it did give me a little nostalgic feeling
Sweet look back at the history of FL. I started using it way back in the naughts, but haven't used it for a while, I might have to get into it again.
wow at 04:23 to see a folder named bubnjevi1 and bubnjevi2 (meaning drums).. can't believe someone from Serbia was using this software back then 😅
edit: dope video, thank you for this! 😎
You have worked hard for this video. Thank you very much ! ALL HAIL FL

I started on FLStudio 3 back in 2002 , man those were the days
Thanks 😊 for this video, I love FL and will continue using it, the history of FL is amazing I remember some of the past versions vaguely.
Patterns and the new playlist co-existed for a while on and after version 9 for a bit.
the work you must have put into this is wild, props bro
great video. Was surprised to see it has less than 10k views. keep it going
You will grow big, great content 🔥
I remember starting on Fruity Loops 3.5. Brings back many memories. I've also used others like Protools, GarageBand, Reason, CuBase, etc. but always felt the most comfortable with FL Studio and still use it to this day. Back then it get as much credibility but now you see major producers working with FL studio.
nicely done man. love the video
thank you it actually works you're a king
I witnessed all that. :) Brings me so many good memories.
If it wasn't for FL I wouldn't be making digital music today, so I owe a lot to Image-Line.
i love this video, looking back at old versions of softwares, games, and even stuff like music demos is a huge interest for me, thx 4 this vid!!
