is there a way to make add color to the emboss/deboss. I am trying to give a gold foil stamp effect on a box

Can you not adjust the color within Stager? If not, clicking on the pencil icon should open the UV in Photoshop where you can change the color. If that doesn't clear it up, let me know and I'll see if I can't explain it better.

It's better to use a normal map in this case, so you don't have to raise the polygon count of your model

In some cases, yeah absolutely. But here I realized that you can't override the normal map for most smart materials in 3D Stager (but I agree that you definitely should be able to) so otherwise the displacement map seemed to be a more universal answer.

Again very nice tutorial...I would just add if you are using two monitors, move Photoshop to the second monitor and leave it up, then as you adjust / add artwork and/or turn off layers, and SAVE without closing...click on Stager and it will automatically/dynamically update...Although not directly for embossing / de-bossing, the techniques of utilizing 2 monitors is the same....Here's the link to 'unedited' demo with me 'sliding' Photoshop over from my second monitor for demo recording: www.behance.net/gallery/124408609/Utilizing-2-monitors-in-Stager-for-graphic-placement
