great videos my wife and i stayed there 2 years ago and are going back in april of 2023 same beach front room. we enjoyed are stay there and looking to go back we had no complaints about the food or resort
These videos were extremely helpful! Based on your recommendation we got massages at Tropical Treasures and loved them! Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos. My husband and I aren’t in phase 2 yet but we found your videos among the most helpful while preparing for our Excellence El Carmen vacation.
Thanks so much, we're so glad that they were helpful. That's our goal is goal is to help others fhope others from what we have learned, and are mistakes. 😁
Love the way you narrate your videos and focus on the right things! A few questions: 1) do they have Hobie cats (little catamarans) available and included for guests to use? 2) what is the vibe there? For party animals in their 20s and 30s, or for a more mature calmer crowd?
Yes they did have some small cats on the beach. There's a small water sports hut right on the resort beach. However, when we were there, we only had maybe 1 day the waves were calm enough I'd feel comfortable taking one out. We loved the vibe, we'll be sure to cover it more in Part 3 we are doing now. Being in Phase 2, we're not looking for the big party, we like to relax, but also don't want a boring place. We felt this had just the right vibe. Lots of us in 40's and 50's along with many Honeymooners. Good mix, NOT a frat party.
We will be at El Carmen in a few months. We stayed at Excellence Punta Cana last year - just down the road from El Carmen and absolutely loved it. We thought the food ranged from above average to fantastic - though I know food is very subjective. I have heard though, time and time again, that the Excellence in Jamaica and both of their resorts in Mexico have "better tasting food" than the Dominican resorts. We certainly never was hungry! LOL. Their Punta Cana resort is absolutely gorgeous, a much more tropical feel than from what I am seeing of El Carmen. Can't wait to see your third video.
Thanks much for the great comment. We actually walked the beach down to the EPC and explored it. It was very nice, but quite a bit different. I really hope a lot of the food issues are supply chain related, and will improve quickly. Nancy and I run a food business and it's been awful getting good product ( or any product ! :) ) We've also heard the same about Mexico. But I'm sure you will love the resort, we had a great time and like we said, the food wasn't a deal breaker. Travel well....
Good morning I know this might sound silly but I also want to make sure the pool area gets lots of sun seems like there is alot of huts covering up for sun bathing. I will be there the month of March for10 days.
There is plenty of sun on the main and various building pools. That huts are back from the pools. Hope you have a great time. Watch for part 3 uploading now.
When will you be releasing part 3? My husband and I are booked to go and this will our first time staying at an Excellance resort we always stay at Secret's Resorts but our friends only stay at Excellance Resorts every year and stay for 14 days, they have stayed at everyone but Excellance El Carmen is their favorite.
If you are asking how much was the difference between excellence club and a normal room the difference is about $67 a day for 2 people. We think is is well worth it.
Not at all! We went twice, and would go again (many times!) in a heartbeat. The lady owns it is a German transplant and is extremely professional and has high standards for her staff. It is a little close quarters on the patio overlooking the beach were they have the massage tables, but we were not uncomfortable at all. Give it a try, you can't miss for $35 for an hour. Happy travels.

Nancy brother has only stayed at Secret's but are also trying Excellence as well now. We are working on Part 3 and it will be out shortly.
How much did the upgrade cost?
