When I first heard Pastor Brooks sermons I began to search for him and wanted to hear him speak in person and would have traveled to do so. It greatly saddened me to learn that he had passed on. A Good Message on What the Sabbath is by Pastor Brooks. It is as the Lord says, The 7th Day. 😊 READ - (Exodus 16:26; 20:10, 11; 31:15; Leviticus 23:3, 24 and Deuteronomy 5:14). ❤ Also, according to Scripture the Sabbath day is the only day blessed by the Lord (Genesis 2:2) and we as humans commanded by God our Creator to “Remember and Keep it Holy” (Exodus 20:8).❤ As the Pastor said, we don’t keep Sabbath like how our Protestant brethren keep Sunday. However, the Lord shows us there is a great need of REFORMING not only in concerning the SABBATH, but with regards to Health, Dress and other Reforms as well. Here what the Lord says in Inspiration, “If we are to look at the messages God gas sent His people in times of old and in our time, we see how He found it necessary to repeat, encouragements to His people to walk in harmony with His Will. In our time this is particularly true of acceptable (Sabbath observance, dress and adornment and health reform.” (Selected Messages Vol. 3 (Introduction) p. 236 The Grace of Courtesy p. 237).❤ Sadly, many of our brethren seems to have forgotten that the Sabbath is not just a day to take off from work and assemble with other brethren, hear a sermon, have fellowship lunch and go home. Many speak of anything upon the Sabbath. They allow their children to play upon the Sabbath. They go wherever, do whatever, associate with whomever upon the Sabbath, forgetting that the Lord said about Not, “…doing thy pleasure on my holy day; … not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:” BUT do the following: “… call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him…” (Isaiah 58:13).❤ Also, we are not only told what we should not do upon the 7th Day Sabbath, but there are things that we should be doing upon the Sabbath as stated in the other verses in (Isaiah 58:7-10): Verse: 7 “Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?” Verse:10 “And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; …” Then, the Lord would bless us accordingly, Verse: 8 “Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.” Verse:9 “Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;” The Scriptures above were so arranged to make the point, dividing what the Lord said (Not to do) and the things we (should Do). I will close by saying, I thought this statement from the late Pastor CD Brooks was awesome concerning the Sabbath, “It’s not a burden but a (Blessing), it’s not a problem but a (Privilege). Why. 1) Because it is rare for anyone to live to 120 years. 2) what if you do not live to see the next birthday or the next decade, then you would not of lived to See CD Brooks at 120. 3) we should not pray for someone to live longer, if they have a fatal medical condition, or are living daily in pain, because that is a selfish prayer. 4) when God is ready for His child, and has completed His work in His child, Gid needs to call Manservant to rest from all their labours. 5) CD Brooks has completed his divine assignment/calling. I pray that everyone enters Christ Sabbath rest. He is superior to all things including the one of seven day sabbath. Including Moses, Abraham, water, bread, weather, angels, etc (see Hebrews for how he is superior to all the things of the law, people and everything). Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. Are you a Sabbath Keeper or Sabbath Breaker? The Torah, and the Torah only, defines what it means to keep or break the Sabbath. Here's what it teaches. Sabbath must be observed from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday - “from evening to evening shall you keep your Sabbath” (Leviticus 23:32) No work can be done on the Sabbath. It is wholly a day of rest - “Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD.” (Exodus 31:15) If you turn your furnace on during the winter on the Sabbath, you're a Sabbath breaker - “You shall kindle no fire in all your dwelling places on the Sabbath day.” (Exodus 35:3) If you bake or boil food on the Sabbath, you're a Sabbath breaker - “On the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers each. And the LORD said to Moses, “The man shall be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.” (Numbers 15:32-35) You don't keep the Sabbath unless your priest sacrifices two lambs every Sabbath - “On the Sabbath day, two male lambs a year old without blemish, and two tenths of an ephah of fine flour for a grain offering, mixed with oil, and its drink offering: this is the burnt offering of every Sabbath, besides the regular burnt offering and its drink offering.” (Numbers 28:9-10) Based on how the Torah defines what it means to keep the Sabbath, who can say that they're a Sabbath Keeper?
This is my favorite preacher. I have to disagree with this globe earth. The Bible tells us about the firmament and that the sun moves and not the earth. In the story of Joshua tells us that the sun went back 10 degrees not the earth moved back. If we follow the Bible we cannot follow the scientific explanation of the earth being a round spinning ball and space being a endless expanse.

Where in NT of the bible does it say you have to observe sabbath? Jesus observed it as a matter of Jewish tradition but it is no longer necessary after his death as Jesus fulfilled the prophecy in Hosea 2:11, "I will also cause all her celebrations to cease: her feasts, her new moons, her Sabbaths, and all her solemn assemblies." This is why there is nothing in NT that indicates Christians are required to observe sabbath.

As long as we put faith in Jesus and God and be obedient to them, we are already in God's rest or sabbath and, hence, ritualistic sabbath observance is not needed. For this to be true, we must listen to Jesus' words: "God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24 Worshiping God in spirit and truth transcends any ritualistic observance under Mosaic law after Jesus fulfilled the law once and for all by his sacrifice.
The Sabbath was a sign between God and the Jews never for the church we are to worship on the Lord's day. Paul never told the church to worship on the Sabbath.

Because of what He did, we no longer have to "labor" in law-keeping in order to be justified in the sight of God. Jesus was sent so that we might rest in God and in what He has provided.

Open up your Bible and try to look for answers for these questions.. 1. When Jesus reproved the Pharisees and scribes regarding the Sabbath, is it on HOW we keep the Sabbath or is it on whether we SHOULD keep the Sabbath at all? 2. If Jesus wants us to neglect one of the principle laws of His kingdom, why didn't He tell us upfront? He was upfront about religious hypocrisy, forgiveness, the love of ease etc, but why was He not upfront about us not needing to keep the Sabbath? 3. If the Sabbath day, which is part of the 10 Commandments, should only be taken figuratively and not literally, what happens to the other 9 commandments? are we now excused if we literally steal once in a while or steal small things that people don't care much as long as we don't steal things of a bigger value that mind offend others and hurt others?

The Sabbath keepers are obsessed with the mission to bring all of Christianity and the entire world Under the *"ministration of DEATH and CONDEMNATION WRITTEN AND ENGRAVED IN STONES"* 2Cor. 3:7-9 and *the letter that "killeth"* (vs.6) of *the law engraved in the tablets of stone!* ( *2 Cor. 3:7* ), called the *"Ministration of DEATH"* , and the *"Ministration of condemnation"* VS 8-9 and use Christ's name to do it! 2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord IS THAT Spirit: and where the *Spirit of the Lord is, there is LIBERTY.* *Love is the fulfilling of the law, my friend.
*The Apostle Paul condemns the Judaziers saying. Phil **3:18** *"For many walk, of whom I have TOLD YOU OFTEN, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the ENEMIES of the cross of Christ:"*
Paul's Epistle to the Church of Rome: Romans 7:6 • *But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held* ; that we should serve in *newness of spirit, and NOT in the oldness of the letter.*
Indeed, the 10 commandments are the ministration of DEATH and CONDEMNATION, engraved in STONE. Once you get that, you will before forced to come to Christ for mercy and forgiveness.
*But, beware, if you return to the ministration of death and condemnation, *there will be no more sacrifice for you, because you have done despite to the Spirit of Grace and trodden underfoot the blood of Christ by whom you were ONCE sanctified (Heb.10:28)
A Good Message on What the Sabbath is by Pastor Brooks. It is as the Lord says, The 7th Day. 😊 READ - (Exodus 16:26; 20:10, 11; 31:15; Leviticus 23:3, 24 and Deuteronomy 5:14). ❤ Also, according to Scripture the Sabbath day is the only day blessed by the Lord (Genesis 2:2) and we as humans commanded by God our Creator to “Remember and Keep it Holy” (Exodus 20:8).❤
As the Pastor said, we don’t keep Sabbath like how our Protestant brethren keep Sunday. However, the Lord shows us there is a great need of REFORMING not only in concerning the SABBATH, but with regards to Health, Dress and other Reforms as well.
Here what the Lord says in Inspiration, “If we are to look at the messages God gas sent His people in times of old and in our time, we see how He found it necessary to repeat, encouragements to His people to walk in harmony with His Will. In our time this is particularly true of acceptable (Sabbath observance, dress and adornment and health reform.” (Selected Messages Vol. 3 (Introduction) p. 236 The Grace of Courtesy p. 237).❤
Sadly, many of our brethren seems to have forgotten that the Sabbath is not just a day to take off from work and assemble with other brethren, hear a sermon, have fellowship lunch and go home. Many speak of anything upon the Sabbath. They allow their children to play upon the Sabbath. They go wherever, do whatever, associate with whomever upon the Sabbath, forgetting that the Lord said about Not, “…doing thy pleasure on my holy day; … not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:” BUT do the following: “… call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him…” (Isaiah 58:13).❤
Also, we are not only told what we should not do upon the 7th Day Sabbath, but there are things that we should be doing upon the Sabbath as stated in the other verses in (Isaiah 58:7-10):
Verse: 7 “Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?”
Verse:10 “And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; …”
Then, the Lord would bless us accordingly,
Verse: 8 “Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.”
Verse:9 “Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;”
The Scriptures above were so arranged to make the point, dividing what the Lord said (Not to do) and the things we (should Do).
I will close by saying, I thought this statement from the late Pastor CD Brooks was awesome concerning the Sabbath, “It’s not a burden but a (Blessing), it’s not a problem but a (Privilege). Well said.

I pray that everyone enters Christ Sabbath rest. He is superior to all things including the one of seven day sabbath. Including Moses, Abraham, water, bread, weather, angels, etc (see Hebrews for how he is superior to all the things of the law, people and everything).

The Torah, and the Torah only, defines what it means to keep or break the Sabbath. Here's what it teaches.
Sabbath must be observed from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday - “from evening to evening shall you keep your Sabbath” (Leviticus 23:32)
No work can be done on the Sabbath. It is wholly a day of rest - “Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD.” (Exodus 31:15)
If you turn your furnace on during the winter on the Sabbath, you're a Sabbath breaker - “You shall kindle no fire in all your dwelling places on the Sabbath day.” (Exodus 35:3)

If you travel far from your home, you're a Sabbath breaker - “Remain each of you in his place; let no one go out of his place on the seventh day.” (Exodus 16:29)
You don't keep the Sabbath unless you enforce the Sabbath with the death penalty - “Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall be put to death.” (Exodus 31:15)
“While the people of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day. And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation. They put him in custody, because it had not been made clear what should be done to him. You don't keep the Sabbath unless your priest sacrifices two lambs every Sabbath - “On the Sabbath day, two male lambs a year old without blemish, and two tenths of an ephah of fine flour for a grain offering, mixed with oil, and its drink offering: this is the burnt offering of every Sabbath, besides the regular burnt offering and its drink offering.” (Numbers 28:9-10)

This is my favorite preacher. I have to disagree with this globe earth. The Bible tells us about the firmament and that the sun moves and not the earth. In the story of Joshua tells us that the sun went back 10 degrees not the earth moved back. Sabbath has become a god in the Adventist church. I was an Adventist for over thirty where I served as a school teacher and a pastor. It was a time of persecution, pain, suffering and uncertainty. Thank God, I left and I'm now happy.

Where in NT of the bible does it say you have to observe sabbath? Jesus observed it as a matter of Jewish tradition but it is no longer necessary after his death as Jesus fulfilled the prophecy in Hosea 2:11, "I will also cause all her celebrations to cease: her feasts, her new moons, her Sabbaths, and all her solemn assemblies." This is why there is nothing in NT that indicates Christians are required to observe sabbath.

True meaning of sabbath is really about not profaning God's rest (sabbath) by obedience. When old generation of Israelites were disobedient in the wilderness, they profaned God's rest and when Joshua led new generation of Israelites to the promised land, he restored God's rest. Sabbath law was given as a symbol of obedience to God and his rest. Read: "For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day. There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his. Let’s therefore give diligence to ENTER INTO THAT REST, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience." Hebrew 4:8-11 Pay careful attention to the last two sentences. As long as we put faith in Jesus and God and be obedient to them, we are already in God's rest or sabbath and, hence, ritualistic sabbath observance is not needed. For this to be true, we must listen to Jesus' words: "God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24 Worshiping God in spirit and truth transcends any ritualistic observance under Mosaic law after Jesus fulfilled the law once and for all by his sacrifice.

Open up your Bible and try to look for answers for these questions..
1. When Jesus reproved the Pharisees and scribes regarding the Sabbath, is it on HOW we keep the Sabbath or is it on whether we SHOULD keep the Sabbath at all?
2. If Jesus wants us to neglect one of the principle laws of His kingdom, why didn't He tell us upfront? He was upfront about religious hypocrisy, forgiveness, the love of ease etc, but why was He not upfront about us not needing to keep the Sabbath?
3. If the Sabbath day, which is part of the 10 Commandments, should only be taken figuratively and not literally, what happens to the other 9 commandments? are we now excused if we literally steal once in a while or steal small things that people don't care much as long as we don't steal things of a bigger value that mind offend others and hurt others?
