Its my pleasure. I own a 52 Willys M38A1 and they are very enjoyable!

    I have a m38-a1 from the usmc and that's a warmed over cj-5.

I also have a Marine Corps M38A1 that was at the combat center at 29 palms from 1955 to 1967 then it was sold to Riverside County. That is a CJ 5.
No dog bowl in the R/S of the tub for the slave receptical , no subdued head light buckets, no 4 inch fast fill filler neck on the fuel tank, no 17 gallon fuel tank.

Beautiful restoration. I own a '63 m38-a1, but sadly, due to lack of spares, I had to replace the engine, gearbox and differentials.

Nice jeep, I have a 1969 CJ5 that I painted olive drab and put military stickers on. Factory v6, syncro 3 speed, 10” brakes.

Chris I'm sorry to tell you but the jeep you shot in this video is a CJ5. There are few things I noticed that make it a CJ5. The glove box on an M38A1 is on the drivers side. The M38A1 has a two piece windshield, this one has a single piece of glass. There was no cutout in the passengers side front tub for the slave cable outlet. The dash is a civi dash. The M38A1 has the dash where all gauges can be removed all at the same time. The data plate should be where the glove box is on this CJ5. The headlights are not sunk in to the grill, and no blackout/blackout drive light. Just some useful information

Now that I look at it and compare it to the original M38A1, you're right. At that time I didn't know it was a CJ-5. Thanks for giving your keen input.

It's a hybrid, I suspect. The leaf springs are M38A1. I didn't get to see if there was a tailgate, or not. But my guess is that it's a CJ body put on a M38A1 chassis.

It's defiantly a hybrid, though it doesn't have a tailgate because the spare tire is on the back and not the side, though some models of the m38a1 have a single piece windshield

This Jeep is an Civilian Jeep only
The military equipment is not original for an CJ5 and to much for an M38a1.
This Jeep is Bad and stupid

Good video except this is a CJ5 with military equipment tacked on and a military paint job.
