As Indians we only want simple things not complicated machinery Activa has improved a lot by also keeping it user friendly so that every family member can drive it with ease. It's a scooter not a car so let that smart connectivity of seeing scores, watching videos in cars only we are riding a two wheeler not a car. Activa is best of the best ❤. And talking about changes cringe brands do change as happened in case of Verna. And talking about G Activa has discontinued them a year ago so update yourself about the info and then talk about it Motorinc don't get blind if you are sold for money..
BS 6 scooters complaints( Sensors..Honda Activa has 8 nos. Sensors) can't be repaired by local mechanics. Moreover Honda ACTIVA now comes with OBD 2, no local mechanic no clue about it.
In a country as demographically diverse as India, you'll always find a few million scooter buyers for whom scooters are nothing but a tool to get from point A to point B. They dont ride it for fun (that's a luxury!), and no matter how aspirational our population gets, thanks to the diversity, honda will always find buyers for their Activas. So many have tried and failed to beat it. This is what happens when you read the market right and place your product perfectly. I feel Honda knows they can get by with minimal updates and are like, if it ain't broke.... We as a country still have a long way to go before the targetted audience for Activa turns aspirational enough to demand more from Honda and till then, the Honda cash register will keep ringing.
Don't know about you guys, but cars and bikes are PROHIBITIVELY expensive for most Indians. And the prices have skyrocketed post-covid thanks to the manufacturers' lobbying and non-existent price control. There's also the matter of 49-50% tax slapped on the ex showroom prices of vehicles pan-India. Why would I spend 10 lakhs on a car whose actual price is no more than 5-6 lakhs???? I don't think the people commenting here are aware of the obscene wealth disparity plaguing the country while our prime minister is giving communal speeches and propagating the Indian version of the great replacement theory. So no, people will not show "interest" in something unless their material conditions improve.
Just because you have your baap ka paisa doesn't mean the millions of poor people do. They are caught in the struggle for the rozi-roti. But you wouldn't understand that since your IQ is at room temperature levels. They don't even have the luxury of having dreams. But I guess they should take financial advice from you 🤡🤡
It doesn't seem like the population who's main purpose of an Activa is practicality, would consider anything like Disc Brakes, ABS, Design Changes, etc. To them, User Experience is not in the picture. For the people who do care about UX, they would care enough to find out better options for themselves. If any other manufacturer got the same title for their scooter, I'm sure they would follow the same tactics
I got an activa in 2010, my friend got an access at that time, within 3-4 years that access had so many problems, he decided yo sell it and get one scooter from TVS because activa was very common, that scooter didn’t last too long, he bought an activa a few years ago. Our activa from 2010 is still working flawlessly.
I own both Access and Activa. Access is any day a better scooter - better mileage, better power, better handling, better looks, better vfm. Activa has so many problems - I hardly take it out.
Yes exactly, this is one of the most successful waste scooter in all aspects, compare to Jupiter, access and with any other 110cc vehicle, this is the worst vehicle but still people buying it, ho god, I know everything about it in 2019 and I purchased it because of my friend, then I decided to go with my mind not others,,,
I own a 2008 model 100cc Honda Activa. Whole metal body, no sensors, halogen headlight, petrol tank lid placed inside, normal shocks..!!! Never broke down in the last 16 years & runs like a horse 😊
We own a 2014 Activa which was affected by the Mumbai floods twice Had to spend 700 to fix it on both occasions and guess what, still runs like a dream
I have an Access 125 which has all the bells and whistles like turn by turn navigation, digital meters, alloy wheels, disc brakes, etc etc, but last month when I went home and took out my mom’s Activa 6G to get groceries, (that little blue scooter only has the famed, eye blinding LED light in common with my Access), it felt not very different. I felt at home in it, and that’s the power of the Activa. It does everything you want, gets the job done, and pretty neatly at that.
My friend had an activa, we used to feel like it was a sports bike, churchgate to andheri and back. It was fun and easy also a bit meek which for a new rider gave a good confidence boost.
It's a crime this channel is not more famous. The quality and thought in these videos are so good, I have been binging all the videos one after the other. I look forward to more and more videos from you guys. Great work really
Hondas engine run for a lifetime like new...my Dads activa is 18 yrs old and runs like butter and has got that beautiful low end and linear power delivery..only recently the internal chasis had to be reinforced due to damage by rust in mumbai weather..
I bought TVS Pep in 2003. Changed battery twice. Except speedometer everything is working smoothely with excellent mialage of 48. This legacy is carried by Jupiter.
Great. But I bought 6g two years ago and regretted. One ride on the chennai road on a light rainy day you are done. The sensor dependent mechanism is not water proof, the vehicle would jam, stall and stop. Wade through corporation's killer pits and take a royal walk back home! The service. Less said the better.
Bro old activa were more durable. Nowadays the story is different. Not as durable as earlier ones. Many quality issues due to volume and also they upgrade only if competitors give features. Otherwise no new feature because of monopoly they enjoyed.
Between my parents and me, we have used bullet (1988), Luna, sunny, spirit, original pulsar 150, scooty Pep, pulsar 180, Yamaha Fz,Hero pleasure, Activa 3g (2015 to till date), and Hero Duet. Only Activa has been running without much issues as well as requiring repeated change of spare parts like accelerator cable or brake cables. Including cars, this has been longest we are using same vehicle for so long and i am sure it will remain with us for multiple years more.
Tbh buddy, any good scooter would Worse thing, u would be more comfortable in many other scooters Trust me, i have used activa 110 2010 for 100 kms hill rides daily for years, now switched to jupiter 125 and tbh, jupiter 125 makes my day much easier Activa is good or should i say in 2010 was best, today, any new Activa is a waste of money
@@richard.a23 in my 2010 activa, by 2016 i realised that my normal halogen light even after upgrade wete useless I switched to an aftermarket led light with brightness of 10 suns apparently ( installed in a way i dont blind people but actually can see things). Trust me, that worked, else i would have been dead years ago had i trusted the original lights ( i once was coming back on a highway road after a wedding at 10, and could barely see the road ahead, that made me instantaneously switch to led)
I have bought a top end Dio 125 couple of months back, instead of activa. It sounds good, great engine, better disc brakes and honda reliability. Way better option imho, if someone is looking for Activa. I have had bad experiences with my past bike with TVS and hence going with honda sounded like a smart choice. With all said, its on the expensive side, given competition gives better equipments.
I have an activa which is 12 years old, and till date it’s working like it’s a brand new scooter. Obviously it doesn’t have the latest features, but It has never let me down. It never breaks down, I can completely rely on it. Although I can’t say same for newer models but may be that’s due to newer emission standards, Honda had to change some things that causing some problems
In India we try different scooters but at the end we're like " Activa hi le lete hein accha rahega" 😅😅. Our family had many generations of Activa. Thank God I got the Access 125😂
@@motorinc till now I've completed like 500kms. And one service is done. We have the Narayani Suzuki near our apartment and the service guys were decent. All the service bookings are done on a tablet. They checked the scooter before taking it inside. I have the scooter at around 9am and got it back at 1 pm. The bill was 340rs. It was quiet hassle free. The scooter is really smooth and its performing well too. It's really fast inside the city and it's just so easy. The one thing which I love the most is the suspension setup. It's sooo good. All in all it's been a good experience till now
Great video. A popular saying that goes like 'If is not broken, don't fix it' worked for quite well Honda Activa. Activa being the segment leader is a clear message to all scooter manufacturers out there that 'keep things simple and consistent'. But the latest edition of Honda Activa breaks it with keyless start, switch nob for ignition and storage space. I hope people get familiar with it. Also, waiting for the Mahindra XUV 3X0 MotorInc first video!
Perfect review ever. I own an Activa since 16 years, It is definitely an average scooter. My issues have always been headlights, brakes and suspension. Now I plan for a bike.
My oldest Activa [1stgen] is over 22years old and my 2nd Activa is 14 years old and both are still in healthy running condition. My mechanics have advised never to sale these scooters as the quality levels of new gens can't match up. I like my 22 year Activa more than any scooter available till date
I have a 2005 honda activa which ive been using for years. Also completed my college days with it. I don't know about the today's 6g but the one i have is a very robust and tough machine , i also learnt to ride a two wheeler 11 years ago with this same activa , still running very strong today as well
Hey, i have been using bs6 activa 6g std variant since 2 years now. For those who think that activa is worst and it should be updated, yes i agree it needs to be updated as per today's market but it is not worst at all, its honestly a gem of a scooter. Although as an automobile enthusiast, i do love to ride it and it has a no nonsense, practical, fuel efficient and very punchy 109cc engine which is linear till 45 kmph and after that it reaches 90 in no time at all! As sometimes i ride in highways till 80 kmph, while overtaking everyone and laughing contagiously in enjoyment, Still it dont wobble even at its top speed, which is amazing and it doesn't even make me feel scared at all! It has very very good suspension setup which absorbs almost 60% of shocks on roads, it also performes very well in bad roads filled with several potholes. It delivers me daily 55 kmpl (yes i am not joking) without 3rd service and no oil change after 2nd service. Idk why Activa gets unwanted hate, there's always a reason for something. Not a single time it has disappointed me tbh its the best scooter i have ever purchased!! 😊😀 Edit:- i have clocked 11,501 kms in my activa 6g, i had done 2nd service in 3700 kms till now i haven't serviced it yet and no oil change at all. This is the power of activa 🥰❤️
Thanks for sharing your experience with us @XQsMI78! That being said, unless you own a special edition Active that's self-servicing, regular services are a must for any vehicle. So, please give your vehicle the much needed check-up it deserves.
my hero pleasure is still very good after 15 yr, while my cousin’s activa which was bought 1 year than mine is having many problems now. activa also has too much vibrations at low speeds.
Ours as well! 2003 1st gen black activa.. 1 lakh 3 thousand km run so far, original paint and no engine work done.. still starts in first or second attempt
One personal gripe of mine is Honda doesn't have a fixed schedule for cleaning the fuel injection system. Took the family Activa for service & asked them regarding this. Their response- हम उसको नहीं छेड़ते जब तक कोई दिक्कत न हो. I also have a FZ ver 2.0 & Yamaha strongly recommends getting the FI system cleaned at intervals of 6,000 km. Still getting about 55 kmpl on it.
We purchased a BAJAJ sapphire when it was newly released . That vehicle was junk in 3 years and was sold at scrap value. Bajaj did not compensate us nor did we get any support from their service centre . The next 2 wheeler we purchased was the activa. It still runs like new after 16 years with hardly any engine issues. That's the commitment to quality and after sales that Honda provides. That's why the saying " Honda is Honda". Quality Reliable and Dependable.
I also bought bajaj kristal scooter in 2009 instead of activa and it got sold at rs 500 to scrap because bajaj couldn't just make good scooter that time . now happy ans satisfied with 2 honda activa in garage
0:17 Why reviewer always failed to understand customer ? Those who buy bike are not always college students. I just want simply bike or scooter which is reliable and practical. Think why old bike like splender, discover, classic pulsar, shine, unicorn are still in the market and people actually buy this bike. Some time a bike were both rider and pillion are comfortable is all that requires. But...... No reviewer tells that cluster has no Bluetooth function...and all unnecessary things.
@@Tushar-ye7no he mentions it because of the competition like Jupiter, does give these features and there are alternatives that offer better value than the Activa. We've reached the point where most of the scooters have the basics covered, so upnext comes the "bluetooth" and other features... That according to 2024 standards, scooters should have now. Old days have passed. And innovation on scooters need to move ahead
The most important thing is reliability. The scooter must start and stop when you want it to. It must not leave you stranded on your journey. This is of prime importance. Fancy things don't matter.
I disagree. I've been using 6g for 3 years now. Have driven it for almost 40k km. The only thing i would change is the boot opening mechanism which gets stuck when rain water goes in it. I put some oil in it and it worked like normal after that. Activa is cheapest, has metal body parts , is comfortable. The left and right signal indicator has stopped functioning properly just now for me at 3 years mark. Paint has lasted well no scratches. I've not driven any other scooter so i cant tell if others are better. The real deal breaker are the lack of grab rail in other scooters. I think its a good thing that Honda has stuck with this no nonsense approach. I dont want manufacturers to give the features i never asked for and take away useful features.
I got the 3G version as my first vehicle in 2015 at 54000/- on road since only non geared scooter licences were available at the age of 16 back then. Used it extensively (even abused it in the first 2 years by constant speeding and crashing) and sold it after completing my masters degree 7 years later and still got 32000 resale value. Economy was good throughout the years hovering around 48-52 kmpl which was good considering my vehicle rarely being in the economy range of 30-45
Having used Suzuki GS150R, Access2013, Hornet 2.0( 2020), CB200X ( 2024).. I'm looking to take Activa now. I'm aware of issues with Plastics and switches. But I feel that the engine and engineering and ecosystem make up for me to get Activa this time.
This video is soo fun, i mean damn that is auto journalism at its best, BTW Internet i am happy to report that my activa (3g) is hitting 50k by end of this month and will be turning 9year old, still run fast, looks same, and i just love it
Those who own an Activa know the value of Activa. I have been using it since 2011 and I am happy. The best thing about Activa is the tyre grip and balance even at a high speed.
I have an ACTIVA (1G). It gets serviced at every 6 months and it works like it used to back in the 2013. The saddest thing is that it's working just fine & gets the work done. No matter the better upgraded rivals, my mind keeps stopping me to pay for a new one.
I have a 2002 Dio. Still running fine. Of course we just use it to fetch groceries and running errands and occasionally go to work but i can see it running for another 20 years. I was 18 or 19 when we bought it and now im 40.
Perfectly put together and valid points, I sold off my father's Activa and quite happy and merrily brought home Aprilia. Hated Activa to the core, but couldn't put words to it. It looks like you read my brain
Inspite of stong Marketing and Hypes no scooter has got a chance to even come closer to Activa's position since more than 2 decades now. The Activa has earned its position by its reliability and customers trust not through fake hypes or marketing.
My friend has a 1st gen activa, almost 20 yrs old and done over 1.6L kms and the guy does nothing other than oil change when he "remembers". even tyres are not changed and it still works well. for most people Activa is just a no nonsense A to B vehicle they can chug along for decades and it does that wonderfully well.
@@TheFourthWinchester nah this is true. I also own a really old Activa I got from my grandad after he stopped riding and I got oil changed for the first time in more than 10-12 years. Can't afford the tyres rn so it is still running the original set
In 2001 i bought my first Activa and my first auto mag which had a review of the scooter. The magazine was BS Motoring and the review was written by Shumi 😍 Then i loved the engine note and design that recalled the lovely Kinetic Honda. It cost 32000 and looked like nothing else on the road. What a vehicle!
@motorinc ive watched this video more then 10 times, not because i like the activa but because of you schumi, you explain everything so good and the quality of the video is always amazing. I would love to see a video on the new activa 125
I feel more than Activa, Honda gain the trust of Indian customers.. because of its reliable ,durable and quality products. I got Activa in 2007 no issues till 2018 i get the Honda Aviator BS4 now it's been 7 years no issues engine still feels like new it gets service at Honda service centre only, they handle it properly that's why it feels like new.. yes after covid and because of GST taxes and service charges are increased but affordable. You will still find the first generation Activa in a better condition even today. After sales service experience is completely depends on how you handle your scooter if you are rash driver & don't pay attention on services ..then the vehicle will create issues. Another TVS Jupiter is not bad but engine doesn't feel like smooth.. you don't get that confidence. nowadays they are adding Google maps, Bluetooth...etc I don't know what they want to make a scooter mobile ?😂 That is going to be just distraction.. still people don't use maps on their phones and you think that they will use it on vehicle !! Sometimes simplicity attracts.. people don't want any complicated scooter.. that's why many people go with Honda Activa.
Everything being said here is true to the word. Activa, and Honda scooters in general, are indeed an appliance and for the most folks, the fact that it just would plain work for the next 20 years is a much more lucrative option. I've got a Honda Dio from 2006, and my dad still uses it on a daily basis. Sure, the head light is pretty much non-existent, the body has endured quite a lot of breakages (yes, as Shumi rightly points out in ThisConnect, those steel pipes really don't do anything really , speaking from experience), and the footboard plastic has faded to white colour now. But that engine, though not as smooth and responsive as it used to be, is as reliable as Allwyn Fridges of the 80-90s. Its a shame that the premium being asked for only this reliable engine is way too much for what, otherwise, is still really an average product. P.S: I just brought a new activa this December so as to compensate for my XUV 700 :D
Thanks for sharing @adthalls. We're glad to hear that you're having a great time. Compensating for a seven seater SUV with a scooter, huh? Did you weld four Activas or something?😅
Please do a video on Honda Dio and N torque People actually relying on your channel a lot ... Biggest reason search ... People searching as Motorinc Honda activa you nailed it please do this segment
We had the first gen activa prolly the first in our town and boy it lasts like nothing else does 16 years still works like charm 😊 The reason is Hondas are extremely reliable and are like the innovas of bike world
How much kilometres it has run? My cousins Activa engine got busted within 30,000 kilometres although it has been maintained immaculately. Don't know what Honda reliability means
I am here for the first time, and I am absolutely blown away by the quality of the video. The attention to detail, the sounds, and especially the script are outstanding. Who wrote it? It's amazing. The blend of humor and calmness had me smiling throughout. Give that person an award! I was not expecting such exceptional content, especially on the Indian automobile scenario.
Finally someone made a video on this topic. Main reason is only Access and Jupiter can compete against activa as Hero is unable to capture scooter market. Access has captured 125cc segment and they know that they have high chances of failing if they enter 110cc as there is already activa and jupiter. Tvs has very pathetic service but there scooters are good plus it is an Indian brand. From starting they are giving telescopic suspension, currently providing tech loaded scooter variants etc but still they are unable to build trust. And other thing is that majorly only youth does research before buying and goes for new things, others just want a simple scooter, no new features no stress just a scooter for going from A to B and many people say activa when you say scooter. They know scooter by the name activa only.
I agree with this video. I don't understand why people still buy Activa. My mileage was in mid 30s when I purchased and now it is around 25 after 5-6 years
Whenever I hear/see someone getting a Honda Activa I'd want to say welcome to the rage show season 6G.. I'll always get a flashback of things I had gone through (Bas isse lene ke baad jhelna padtha hai) Got one back in 2017 and apart from the side mirrors everything just started to give up. What all you've mentioned have happened to me as well... the headlamp always throws onto the first floor after a few months, seat becomes a bench power start toggle has to be used like an old remote push it in all the way... I can go on and on but it would be a har rant.
Ouch! hurts to hear such stories, cause i am owning one for last 10 years and i guess it might have done around 100k KMS but not facing any such big issues. Yes now after 9 years and so many kms the ride has became a little bit shaky and also have to kick start it in the morning once but after that it starts on power start for the rest of the day XD and the engine is still smooth at the speed of 60-70. I guess the quality of their product deteriorated in the last few years :)
@@motorinc Oh they're terrible, we buy metal bodies for sturdiness, but what we get is bullshit. We have BS6 Activa 125, after a wash, loads of water accumulates under the footboard, idk how that happens. To remove that we have to tilt the scooter towards the right, once I tilted it a bit more and had placed my leg at a place so that all the weight comes on my leg. Turns out the scooter got a dent because of my leg. I must say such terrible quality levels. Thoroughly disappointed after enjoying their 2004 Activa for 15 years. What a scooter that was😢
Damn!.. The choice of words.. Sublime.. and the sarcasm.. And the editing.. Splendid.. Activa is almost like Innova and Fortuner.. There are better feature rich alternatives but people don't give a crap.. These will keep on working no matter the conditions and that's all people care..
I went on to book Jupiter, test driven it but it didn't feel smooth and also the salesperson was behaving arrogantly. Same day test driven Activa & loved how smooth it was as compared to the Jupiter. I agree that Honda have innovated least in terms of design & features, but they always refine their engines with every generation. Also the salespersons of Honda are respectful unlike TVS 🙂
I agree with almost all the points made in this video. But Honda should be at least given a credit for its engine reliability. I recently did a courageous Goa-Pune ride (with a lot of luggage) on my Activa-125 (2018 BS-IV Model) :D. To my surprise, Activa did it quite well :D.
I had an Activa HET 2014, sold it in 2021, Brought a Meteor 350, missed the Activa, brought an 2008 Activa with 95k on odo for 7000 last year .... needless to say it's quite alright
May be featured are lacks latest features, but alhamduillah it's run good without any issues, my activa was in flood road in Chennai after 2 days, one self start it's started I Brough 2021
Activa is not about letting me get all the shiny features. The name truly stands out to stud its quality for being active throughout decades for its owners. It does not offer styles but a resilient heartbeat. When it comes to bikes the first word that comes out is Splender, and for scooters, it's Activa. It is the iPhone among the scooters. The more you use it, the more you grow with scooting.. where the others are just a bunch of crap wrapped in fake potatoes or potatos. They do sound different.. but afterall "🥔".
This what a happens when you are taken advantage of. We need to be ready to reject projects and products because its simply not good enough. This happens we have no sort of connection with the product we buy. We just dont care. Honda success directly reflects to how our government also treats us with their super roads and amazing hygiene in public transportations. If you arent vocal and act your mind everyone will walk over you. This activa shows how much as a consumer we need to re evaluate ourselves.
My 4 friends own the Activa 6g(I have a group of 5 friends including me😂) and I bought the Jupiter 125 this december First when i used to tell them that i dont like the quality nor the engine of the activa....they used to laugh saying "then why everyone buys the activa?" When i got my new one and was telling them about it, they thought I'm just bragging my new scooter BUT....they were flabbergasted when they had a ride and now my scooter is a benchmark for a scooter in my group😂 for quality, finish, economy, looks, practicality and everything... Btw I'm a TVS fanboy and every two wheeler my family has ever owned is a TVS
@@firstnamelastname5761 true i have 2 TVS commuters in my house Jupiter and the Star City 110 both have had some amount of large mechanical repairs to the engine. One thing I learned TVS are good and reliable as long as you are willing to put in an effort in maintaining them regular oil change, service etc but in my house that wasn't the case which costed us in repairs.
This video is one of the reason why I love you ppl....crisp, candid and very much logical..... I'm an activa owner since it's 1g to 6g.... What you told is 💯 true
Honda activa is the most reliable scooter engine wise that I've ever seen. It can run for decades, gives a smooth drive. Doesn't have extra unnecessary tech enabled features like a digital dashboard etc and its fine with most people. If It ain't broke then don't fix it philosophy of honda has given great success to this scooter.
Extremely said 😂 Wonderfully said, I just loves the way you opens up everything which no other automotive channel does.❤love the way your channel previews it
Although I'm a young rider, I've ridden quite a few Activas till now from many of my friends and one thing's for sure, the seat is just uncomfortable, u sink in the seat very weirdly, it doesn't feel firm and while it's engine does the job, go above 50-55 it gives up lol. And don't get started on their conditions right now😂. And heads up, all these Activas I'm talking about are max four years old. Meanwhile I'm using the Access 125 handed to me from my parents and the seat seats you firmly and the engine is a gem. Probably the best engine in the competition along with the Ntorq. The only complain I've with my Access is that the suspensions feel quite stiff but maybe i can give it the benefit of doubts that they've improved it in the updates, so I'll say that the Activa "seems" better in suspensions maybe😂. But yeah gonna remain an Access fanboy. Change my mind🙃
I ve 10 year old activa...no problems till now..engine still is vdry refined and seats are good for 20 30 kms ride....just replaced battery twice and suspension once...doing what it is meant to do perfectly
Interesting! This seems to be a pattern where everyone's older Activas seem to run well and uninterrupted but more recent scooters seem to be giving troubles.
I have had active since 2005 and bought a new one in 2024....only thing change is suspension and the luggage space has become hard to open😂...my old one haven't been serviced for maybe 4-5 years and still works , i am waiting for it just stop one day and get rid of it...but i can't
Sir you are so true n on point about activa....sir this is worst....not just in build, material, size, and last but not least after sales service....and let me be honest in mentioning i requested few other auto bloggers to do a episode/story on this over rated activa.....but as should be the comment was ignored.....
@@motorinc To start with the unit sold to me was booked for someone else, & the mobile number till date is written on the vehicle, this is the story of sales in first place & washing done at their service centers * the handle was choked n was dragging the vehicle to the left, again this went un noticed in their 1st servicing, & only after me mentioning it to the staff they repaired the same * the under seat storage is so cramped that at times even if the helmet is little bit tilted the seat doesn't lock * at time of purchase i paid extra for accessories like seat cover, mat, indicator beep & believe me seat cover has started loosing its stiching within the year, the indicator beep malfunctioned within 3 months, and the mat is torned from few places * also as pointed by you about the headlight i paid extra for white headlight but now thinking could have myself bought a 500 odd rs osram bulb instead of paying 3-4 times extra to honda * if honda is offering 3 free services than it should be valid at all the time withib 365 days, i was late for my 2nd free service by 4 months n have to pay 50% of the service charges * even the greece n lubricants used in servicing are charged in name of consumables * the dealership without giving me the option did the insurance from reliance general insurance & upon contradicting straight away denied to change * no wonder if the volume is that high dealers will take the people for granted as there is no one listening or paying heed to such malpractices because the one responsible are happy with collecting taxes n busy in self praising
Oh wow! That's not a great experience at all! Thanks for letting us know! As to your comment, we're not sure what happened: it didn't show up in the moderation section either.
@@motorinc * the scooter was booked for someone else and finally sold to me, the number is still written on the scooter even after 2 service gone, no transparency of process n state of free services in india *when i went for my 1st free service i was told the service is mapped to mumbai for the unit sold to me, i was in the shock but then argued with service head after that he did the formalities *my activa is not even a year old & since inception the unit had a jammed handle, dragging the vehicle to left side, and only when i mentioned to service manager this issue got resolved *i paid around 3k extra for accessories such as side stand, seat cover, matt, indicator buzzer, out of which seat cover started loosing the stich within 3 months, indicator buzzer stopped working within 5 months and matt also has couple of holes here n there, only the side stand which is a mandatory part of scooter now being catgoruzed as accessory is intact *
well for me its a gem no matter at what speed you are driving its buttery smooth well for its engine its great for a 110cc when me and my friend who have destini 125 do races it give tough competition to destini honda engines are known for its top end speed not for its initial it lags a bit in initial but runs great at top end.
The Indian market is truly amazing! Had it been any other market, consumers would have stopped purchasing the activa years ago. Only the Indians can throw all free market competition and economics out of the window. 😂
Any other market? We do think that generalisation is a little too sweeping. India is unique though. Since we're a relatively poor country moving towards affluence, our buying pattern reflects the former although we're often closer to the latter. This means we prefer what appears to be a safe purchase - sometimes we _demand_ that things remain the same. We need to grow out of that.
Activa is a foolproof product. That’s why it gets sales. Indians buy whatever is reliable and gives them safety with maximum savings. One can’t ignore our past of having less money in circulation. It’s a fact that many prefer getting the basic tools to operate. With generations coming forth this trend is changing. But this happens over periods 20-30 years at a time. Not overnight.
@@summerslider2487 Indians are value oriented people. We tend to buy what provides us with maximum VFM. The Activa, at the moment, is not maximum VFM. Which is peculiar. That’s the point I was trying to make. There are other reliable scooters, with more to offer than the activa- why does it still sell in such huge numbers?
@@Petrol_and_positivity name one? Access? Bad service and limited network. Jupiter? Not as reliable. Name one that nails all basics better than activa. Basics. Not value for money or anything. We are talking about an all round product.

Activa is like "Daal chawal" of scooters, just basics done right and every single time . Most of the people won't appreciate daal chawal unless they get bad diarrhoea from spicy food they longed for .😂😂
I think TVS Jupiter 125 is a much better designed scooter than Honda Activa.. The way they moved the fuel tank below the footboard, freeing up space under the seat (while keeping the foot-board flat like before and) available to carry more stuff is really damn smart.. Such a product should raise the expectations of the masses... forcing the competition to innovate
Wasn't there a slimmer version of Activa too? I forgot what it was called, but my sister loved it so much since it was easy to learn on for her. We do have an Activa at home (of course we do, lol), but I'm a fan of bikes for life. But, I have to say, for the "to-do grocery list", it's a blessing haha
Companies like Honda, Yamaha are more than capable and can smash competition with their engineering and quality. But biggest problem here is taxes and country becoming poorer (inflation, unemployment etc.) day by day. So comparitively Indian market is less lucrative to them. Honda's focus is on mass market, numbers. That's why you see only Activa 6g, 7g, 8g, etc...

@@motorinc what about activa 125
As Indians we only want simple things not complicated machinery Activa has improved a lot by also keeping it user friendly so that every family member can drive it with ease. It's a scooter not a car so let that smart connectivity of seeing scores, watching videos in cars only we are riding a two wheeler not a car. Activa is best of the best ❤. Activa = scooter
I remember going to a tvs showroom and a person said there "aap ke pass kon kon si activa hai"
I mean yeah I have experienced that😂😂😂
similar to xerox = printer
I thought that was scooty.
On the other hand, a lot of people call scooters "scooty", which is a TVS product.
Yes, and market leaders resting on their laurels is well-known to be a blind spot too!
Good points @mrkszz! Change though, it doesn't start with the masses. It starts when _enough_ people show an interest in something better.
Here in the UK they have clandestine plans to stop us riding or driving just for the fun of it. Time to get an Activa 👍

I felt at home in it, and that’s the power of the Activa. It does everything you want, gets the job done, and pretty neatly at that.
Good to know! Thanks Dhruv!

But what is the milage? With butter smooth engine if it is giving 20 30 milage then it's of no use?
Between my parents and me, we have used bullet (1988), Luna, sunny, spirit, original pulsar 150, scooty Pep, pulsar 180, Yamaha Fz,Hero pleasure, Activa 3g (2015 to till date), and Hero Duet. @@motorinc no not at all 🙂 but expected you to ask that question
Edit:- i have clocked 11,501 kms in my activa 6g, i had done 2nd service in 3700 kms till now i haven't serviced it yet and no oil change at all. This is the power of activa 🥰❤️

That's true man.🎉
Thank you for sharing your experience @KT43124! Glad that it's working well for you.

The blend of humor and calmness had me smiling throughout. Give that person an award! I was not expecting such exceptional content, especially on the Indian automobile scenario.
Glad you enjoyed it @JatinV1! We'll pass on your compliments to the whole team.
I can only imagine the effort it took to get the sample at the end. Dylan stings is great 👍
🤜🏽🤛🏽
You know it!
Good to have your take @TyroneYT31!
I was planning to buy an Activa. Since you spoke so much, please suggest some alternatives also.
Jupiter or access
Ouch. It's not supposed to be that bad in quality, right? Did Honda service not sort out these issues for you?
Ouch! hurts to hear such stories, cause i am owning one for last 10 years and i guess it might have done around 100k KMS but not facing any such big issues. Yes now after 9 years and so many kms the ride has became a little bit shaky and also have to kick start it in the morning once but after that it starts on power start for the rest of the day XD and the engine is still smooth at the speed of 60-70. I guess the quality of their product deteriorated in the last few years :)
Hi Pranit, if you see the comments, this seems to be the thing that many are brining up - the older ones, like yours were better than the recent ones.
What a scooter that was😢
@rushilpratap9354 😳 NUTS!
Same experience 😂
I agree with almost all the points made in this video. But Honda should be at least given a credit for its engine reliability. I recently did a courageous Goa-Pune ride (with a lot of luggage) on my Activa-125 (2018 BS-IV Model) :D. To my surprise, Activa did it quite well :D.
Now I know who to call when I want a well articulated, professional roast. Well done good sir!
Glad you're enjoying the MotorInc experience! Thanks a ton! We'll pass your compliments on to the team!
Iam owning a Honda Activa 110cc 2013 model, it's a very powerful machine of our Indian road ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I had an Activa HET 2014, sold it in 2021, Brought a Meteor 350, missed the Activa, brought an 2008 Activa with 95k on odo for 7000 last year .... needless to say it's quite alright
@bambi507 wow that's... something. Hit 1 lakh km yet?
@@motorinc yep😄, I will be doing an engine swap though as it definitely is painfully slow.
May be featured are lacks latest features, but alhamduillah it's run good without any issues, my activa was in flood road in Chennai after 2 days, one self start it's started I Brough 2021
For similar price ,access 125 is best, bigger engine, performance, superb handling and brakes.
The chassis is much capable of 150cc engine
Agreed!
♥️ Spot on!
I used Activa till 2014 around 10 years even today it's perform smoothly that's why Activa is popular only one reason is realibility
Bought suzuki burgman. Never going back to activa/access again. Its very comfortable and suspension is good.
Awesome! Glad you're enjoying your ride Minal!
Is the Jupiter 125 reliable?
Fascino has two perfect cons
1. Fuel cap under seat
2. no storage in front.
Cons are perfect now @aviroopdas400? Nice!
My 4 friends own the Activa 6g(I have a group of 5 friends including me😂) and I bought the Jupiter 125 this december
First when i used to tell them that i dont like the quality nor the engine of the activa....they used to laugh saying "then why everyone buys the activa?"
When i got my new one and was telling them about it, they thought I'm just bragging my new scooter BUT....they were flabbergasted when they had a ride and now my scooter is a benchmark for a scooter in my group😂 for quality, finish, economy, looks, practicality and everything...
Btw I'm a TVS fanboy and every two wheeler my family has ever owned is a TVS
Thanks for letting us know, and congratulations @Foundation-sb5pd!
Owned a tvs never again unreliable 😂
What happened Neo?
@@Foundation-sb5pd TVS engines will cost you much more than Honda in long run.
Proud to have been an owner of 1st generation Honda Activa back in 2005 to Honda Highness DLX Pro Chrome 2023.
♥️
This video is one of the reason why I love you ppl....crisp, candid and very much logical..... I'm an activa owner since it's 1g to 6g....
What you told is 💯 true
Thanks Kalyan! Glad you enjoyed the watch!
Extremely said 😂
Wonderfully said, I just loves the way you opens up everything which no other automotive channel does.❤love the way your channel previews it
Thank you very much! Glad you're enjoying the MotorInc experience!
Activa headlights never fail to blind on coming traffic, a true fact.
@@torqueandbhp6058 Brother I'm talking about the ones that are MAX 4 years old. Never ridden a more older one so no comment on that.
Interesting! This seems to be a pattern where everyone's older Activas seem to run well and uninterrupted but more recent scooters seem to be giving troubles.
Honda has cut corners since last few gens. The scooters give issues and feels cheap.
Access on the other hand feels more refined and well built.
Can you tell us more about your experience Rahul?
@@motorinc To start with the unit sold to me was booked for someone else, & the mobile number till date is written on the vehicle, this is the story of sales in first place & washing done at their service centers
* the handle was choked n was dragging the vehicle to the left, again this went un noticed in their 1st servicing, & only after me mentioning it to the staff they repaired the same
* the under seat storage is so cramped that at times even if the helmet is little bit tilted the seat doesn't lock
* at time of purchase i paid extra for accessories like seat cover, mat, indicator beep & believe me seat cover has started loosing its stiching within the year, the indicator beep malfunctioned within 3 months, and the mat is torned from few places
* also as pointed by you about the headlight i paid extra for white headlight but now thinking could have myself bought a 500 odd rs osram bulb instead of paying 3-4 times extra to honda
* if honda is offering 3 free services than it should be valid at all the time withib 365 days, i was late for my 2nd free service by 4 months n have to pay 50% of the service charges
* even the greece n lubricants used in servicing are charged in name of consumables
* the dealership without giving me the option did the insurance from reliance general insurance & upon contradicting straight away denied to change
* no wonder if the volume is that high dealers will take the people for granted as there is no one listening or paying heed to such malpractices because the one responsible are happy with collecting taxes n busy in self praising
I mentioned 6-7 points n posted n now my reply is not visible....is there any word limit
Oh wow! That's not a great experience at all! Thanks for letting us know!
As to your comment, we're not sure what happened: it didn't show up in the moderation section either.
@@motorinc * the scooter was booked for someone else and finally sold to me, the number is still written on the scooter even after 2 service gone, no transparency of process n state of free services in india
*when i went for my 1st free service i was told the service is mapped to mumbai for the unit sold to me, i was in the shock but then argued with service head after that he did the formalities
*my activa is not even a year old & since inception the unit had a jammed handle, dragging the vehicle to left side, and only when i mentioned to service manager this issue got resolved
*i paid around 3k extra for accessories such as side stand, seat cover, matt, indicator buzzer, out of which seat cover started loosing the stich within 3 months, indicator buzzer stopped working within 5 months and matt also has couple of holes here n there, only the side stand which is a mandatory part of scooter now being catgoruzed as accessory is intact

well
for me its a gem no matter at what speed you are driving its buttery smooth well for its engine its great for a 110cc when me and my friend who have destini 125 do races it give tough competition to destini
honda engines are known for its top end speed not for its initial it lags a bit in initial but runs great at top end.
Good points SS!
I recently bought it and it feels superb & slick❤
Awesome! And congratulations!
I have 2010 All New HONDA Activa Non HET Model
I Have Restore And Modified With Gas Fill Suspension And Alloys Wheels
HONDA Activa is not just a gearless scooter it's a emotion for many people
Sounds like a good ride Rutwik!
@@motorinc Thank You Sir 🙏
the activa today is what toyotas used to be , absolutely base level tanks
Activa is like "Daal chawal" of scooters, just basics done right and every single time . Most of the people won't appreciate daal chawal unless they get bad diarrhoea from spicy food they longed for .😂😂
I think TVS Jupiter 125 is a much better designed scooter than Honda Activa.. The way they moved the fuel tank below the footboard, freeing up space under the seat (while keeping the foot-board flat like before and) available to carry more stuff is really damn smart..
Such a product should raise the expectations of the masses... forcing the competition to innovate
Thanks for sharing your thoughts @monis_learns2264
Wasn't there a slimmer version of Activa too? I forgot what it was called, but my sister loved it so much since it was easy to learn on for her.
We do have an Activa at home (of course we do, lol), but I'm a fan of bikes for life. But, I have to say, for the "to-do grocery list", it's a blessing haha
iActiva. My sister had it. It basically looked a rebadged HH Pleasure. It’s a gazillion years old and still runs so well.
iActiva! We'd totally forgotten about that! Thanks for reminding us @thekakan!
If you don't want change, it's certainly not coming... 1:15 golden words... Applicable here and everywhere
Active doesn't intimidate the general population. That is it.
True!
Thanks for sharing your perspective! We disagree. We believe they're being lazy about India... and that's okay. They won't have a choice very shortly.
