ALL 4th gen Firebirds and Camaros are wonderful to own as long as you get a good one and not one beaten to death with too many owners. As far as the 6 cylinder cars, they were certainly quick enough. We rented one In San Fran on a vacation and enjoyed it immensely for two weeks. Our last day of the rental was 9/11/01 and with no flights anywhere we had to drive the Camaro all the way back to Tampa FL. A super highway car that we never forgot about even during that tough time. I've owned a 2001 Trans Am since new. My favorite car.

the v6 brakes and handles just as good as the base v8. 98-02 cars with 4 wheel discs all have the exact same brakes. the suspension components between the two are also identical minus the WS6 cars sway bars and ever so slightly different spring rates. and even the ws6 cars are such a miniscule difference.

3800s make great power with boost. whether it be turbo or supercharger. Or even nitrous

I'm a Trans Am guy, but with the way the LS1 cars are going up in price I just can't justify spending $20,000+ on a car that's going to take premium fuel, barely be driven, and that will most likely depreciate bigtime within 10 years, as electric vehicles are evolving faster than many have anticipated. I was talking with a few guys about these 4th gen Trans Am sales and they all agreed that the bubble will burst on them soon, and that's why so many people are selling them.
That said, I think I'll be buying a 98-02 V6 Firebird. I love the WS.6 Trans Ams, but yeah, with fuel going sky high too, I just think I'll settle for the V6...one could always add on Trans Am parts like the spoiler, ram air hood and front clip, if one wanted to.
I found a V6 Firebird near me for sale, 1 owner and has about 40k miles on it. It was garage kept, but they're asking over $11,000 for it, and it's black. Black cars are awesome, as long as you clean them everyday. It would drive me nuts trying to keep it clean, so I hope to find a red one.
I used to own a red 1996 Trans Am and it was decent on fuel for a few years. I had it for 5 years and around the fourth year I had it, it started getting terrible fuel mileage. It would use a quarter tank of gas just driving about 50 miles. And I'm an extremely conservative driver. I never raced it, did doughnuts/burnouts, power stands, etc.
Thanks for your video. You helped me make my decision.

yes the LS1 cars are worth stupid money now. I dont see them ever coming back down in price. Im glad i got my LS1 when I did a few years ago. Early in your video you are comparing the V6 car with the Trans Am, not the V8 Firebird. There is the other V8 Firebird, the Formula which has the same front air dam and and light setup, the lack of side skirts the same rear spoiler as the V6 car, but with the LS1 engine of the Trans Am.

I think you're missing the whole point of the V8 ls1 ws6 platform as it was left to us. Its a unit, and it doesn't even need any mods besides maybe a slp lid, cam, MAYBE exhaust. You're missing the whole point, sorry bro🥱
