      Thank you. Yes, HIDs will help you especially if you do a lot of highway drives and also post sunset.

    Very informative! Are these HIDs housed inside projectors? What is the socket type? Have you added ballasts as well? And, what is the color temperature of the stock low beams?

    • @guruprasadkm
      @guruprasadkm  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The stock low beams are 5500 Kelvin. As far as the HIDs are concerned, the Kicks comes with reflectors for high beam. So these HIDs are replaced in place of the existing halogens and just use the stock reflector mechanism. There is no stock projector setup for high beams in Kicks. Yes, they come with ballasts too along with the kit.

      @@guruprasadkm When you use the pass function to warn the oncoming vehicles, whether the low beam + high beam lights up or it is just the high beam alone?
      Again what is the socket type? HB3 or HB4 or H4 or H7? And, why didn't you go for LEDs?

    • @guruprasadkm
      @guruprasadkm  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The pass function is the only problem. Since these are HIDs, they don’t perfectly work for pass function. The reason being they need time, approximately 5 to 7 seconds to get fully illuminated and due to that using pass feature on a cold HID doesn’t work much. So what I do is, I switch them on each time I start the car for a minute or two. Once they are in use and hot, you can turn them off and start using it for pass function. It is inconvenient but surely a workaround. Otherwise, no issue in its main purpose which is high beams throw. That part is excellent. I have used on highways without any issue. Especially in ghat sections without any source of light in dark, this is a boon to have!
      As far as why I didn’t go for LEDs, LED bulbs are manufactured to better suit a projector than reflector. So didn’t make sense to me to invest in it for reflector setup.
      The socket is HB3
      Hope all the information helps!

    Is it getting heat at headlight ?

    • @guruprasadkm
      @guruprasadkm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope. When compared to Halogen lights, the heat generated by HID (Xenons) are less. So the entire assembly is comparitively cooler to halogens. Hope this helps.

    Is this HID lights Legal to use within city limits and will this not create Kind of blindness for opposite vehicle ?

    • @guruprasadkm
      @guruprasadkm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HID are legal to be used. As far as their usage within the city is concerned it will not blind the opposite vehicle as the spread of the light is even and not sharp. Hope this helps!
