    I like a cab less tractor as much as the next person but there is not enough money in the world that could persuade me to sit that close to a flail head with only a jacket and a bit of a face shield for protection

    Anyone who’s worked a hedge cutter knows that offcuts can hit the side of the cab with frightening force. I’d never use a hedge cutter without a cab.

      If you weren’t trimming the hedge down to the knuckle every time you’d be fine

    How many HP would be required to run this flail on the 35 ?
    Is it maxed out trying to drive that machine or can it handle it ?
    I’d like to get a hedge cutter for my Massey 135

    I think you have to attach a screen on your tractor because when you cut the top the tendency of the blade can broke and accidentally hit you must safety first

    yeah yeah cabless and whatever but i am impressed at the big 35, a Massey 5s.120 would struggle sometimes.

    Have u got that just on the 3 point linkage with a (A) frame or is it mounted to the axle?

      I have stabiliser bars like these: www.silverfoxtractorspares.com/massey-ferguson-tractor-stabiliser-bar-adjustable-2766-p.asp
      You definitely need something like this to stop the play. The cutter frame isn't enough.

    How stable is it? Does the weight of the flail make it want to tip?

      It is pretty stable and I don't have any problems using it at full reach either. The front weights help keep the nose from sliding around when you are tackling thicker stuff like hazel and ash.

      The man is crazy working that without a cab.

    What way are you working the hydraulics?

    • @boothleefarming579
      @boothleefarming579  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The cutter head is powered by a pump on the machine which is driven by the PTO. The arms use the tractors hydraulics (piped to a diverter valve) and are operated using cable controls mounted on the wing.
