@@MsHellfe I was worried about the queen-bishop checkmate for what felt like a good chunk of the game. Since I have been watching his videos I knew his offense was better than his elo would suggest so I tried playing defensively and running him out on the clock. On the last few moves I figured I would flag him and not give him time to think, since if he had time he surely would find a checkmate in the position we were in. The rook sac was obviously sus but he also had 6 seconds left and it could have just been a desperation move (it wasn't). In hindsight I should have played even more defensively and just brought my queen back.
@@nigrushka Taking the rook was _not_ a blunder because if you don't take it then he does the same thing (or moves the queen to b7) and the rook defends the queen for checkmate. Only thing you really could have done was go after _his_ king, but none of your pieces are in a position to do that that turn. If you had moved the rook to d8 instead of e8 the previous turn... then you could have won, possibly (that threatens checkmate). If you tried that, he probably would have successfully defended, but considering the time on his clock he would have just flagged a few moves later.
Yeah I saw that immediately. I am a 892 Alo player. He is in the 700's so he misses quite often. I still occasionally miss moves like that in the 800's. I recently played a game where my op hung his queen and I missed it.

I've been watching your videos since you were 600 and now ur almost 800! Amazing improvement. Ur the funniest TH-camr I know and keep it up. You'll be 100p in no time.
I recommend you play the Ponziani opening, there are some videos that teach you how to play it, and a lot of people at around 600 - 1000 elo blunder to it. (Also at 1300, which is my elo some people still fall for it's traps.) Probably one of the best openings for your level. And also the scotch game, (E4, E5, Knight F3, Knight C6, D4.) Keep up the good content. ❤
The main objective of the caro kan as i know (i play it occasionally as i am a gotham sub)is to always get the knight to f6,no matter what.Knight bd2 seems a bit strange to me as ut doesnt do anything there. Also always protect the E5 square in caro positions
14:06,a fork is when youre guaranteed to win material so if the bishop is defend and the rook can just move its not a fork , you're just attacking a piece
so first of all the commentary on the video is hillarious, it's soooo good, but the second, when in 2nd game you said "I figured that the best course of action here is to go ahead and take the queen" I was like noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo 😂🤣 earning 800 ELO badge right there, and then.... in the same game you played bishop to d8 instead of rook d6 to e6 check mate and I was crying laughing as you started to explain how "after that move" opponent's sitation is bad 😅
8:18 best you say?💀 you couldve pinned the queen to the king with your bishop there which also wouldve been mate if the rook on f8 hadnt moved and queen hadnt taken the pinning bishop (pretty much possible in 700 range) but you somehow found the move which lost advantage.
