7:48 I'm 1200 and I definitely would have gone for Nd3 discover-check to gain the Rook, no doubt about it, a smothered mate wouldn't cross my mind. Kudos to you for looking further and understanding there was something else there.
10 hour days are NOT "not a crazy amount." In many cases that's the difference between existing as a person between shifts or purely seeing to your basic shower/eat/rest type needs outside of your weekend, ESPECIALLY holding that schedule long-term. I say this as someone who worked 4 years on 5 10's as a baseline, upping to 12's during project-heavy periods, and in one specific, notably rough two month period worked straight 7 12's with the option to go to 14s. Don't belittle your health, don't opt to simply grit your teeth through the stress that can often come from overwork or even just typical work. It never works out long-term and always ends up being something to regret having done in some capacity, small or large.
i mean i dont ever get how it is any different to slavery ? someone that spend most time doing thing for client he doesnt know to get a paycheck from a boss he doesnt like rather than spending time for himself is closer to a slave than a free man... if you have more worktime than free time then ur live is closer to clavery than free man it is a simple as that (assuming you sleep a healty 8h that mean working 8h a day should be the stric maximum) considering the fact you have travel time to go to work and comeback home and time you spend to eat ect, even with a 8h/day work you still spend more time working than doing time you enjoy for urself, but the week end will make up for it so it's acceptable, but anything more than that ? nah man it's strait up slavery, just with a different name so people dont notice it... think about it, if you die tomorow and realise you had spend more time in ur life doing think you dont wanna do, for people you dont care about or dont even know rather than doing time for urself or spending time with people you love, can you realy said you dont have any regret and had live the life you wanted ? i would feel like i had been scam personaly x)
10:38 i think thats the best move 😭 it stops the mate threat, it attacks the pinned knight, it gets the knight out of the danger i think thats like the only move
I play guys like this in the 700 ELO range. If I see a stars and stripes I think this is going to be a crazy game - this guy confirms what I thought the thought process was. Brilliantly entertaining!
Time Stamp: 8:00 The Exchange Opening is 1 of the few openings in chess where Black is allowed to do a Knight pin + trade. Most of the time it isn’t recommended for people to do Bishop for Knight trade because Bishops are considered slightly better. This line is an exception because Black main plan is to put his pawns on light squares. Black will often have pawns on f7, e6, d5, a6, & b7 or b5. Black Light Square Bishop isn’t needed as much in this sort of line because all of Black pawns can protect light square without Bishop. Ideally, if your playing Black in the exchange line, you want to do a Bishop to g4 move. You ideally want to pin the White Knight on f3. The only downside is you can’t play Bishop to g4 right away because the White Queen is guarding the square. You need to wait till white develops his Knight to f3 so that Queen isn’t protecting g4 anymore. Than you do the pin! For the above reason, it isn’t considered proper play to develop the Bishop early like your doing. A better move would be Nc6 attacking your opponent d4 pawn or Nf6 defending your own d5 center pawn. Also, by delaying the movement of your LSB, you can always break the pin if your opponent plays an early Bb5 move pinning your Knight on c6. It’s better to keep your Bishop flexible. --------------- Time Stamp: 11:45 You are now playing the Exchange variation as White which is line I specialize in. I have crushed countless of 2k+ and below players with this line. Now, Playing White is a lot different vs. playing Black, White only has 2 very strong moves in this position. You either go c4 or Bd3. I, personally, love playing Bd3 and this is 1 of the few lines in chess were developing the Bishop before the Knight is considered best! You don’t want to play Nf3 because it begs your opponent to pin with Bg4 which is what I told you previously when I was talking about how you play with Black pieces. Now, your playing with White pieces, you want to give Black rope so they hang themselves. The worst thing Black can do is play move like e6 and leave their Light Square Bishop trapped behind their pawn chain. So as White, you don’t want to rush Nf3.
Damn it feels good to watch someone of roughly my ELO playing chess, your strategies sound really like something I'd think in the moment, but your video is fun unlike my chess games
The reason people suggest developing the knights first is because you know where you want them. Waiting to develop the bishops is smart, as their best squares become more obvious just a little bit later…
I’m higher rated now!! I’m SO MUCH BETTER THAN YOU because now I’m hard stuck at 800 and also I stopped playing chess very much because life is more important but also JK YOU’RE CHANNEL IS GOATED NOT EVEN CLOSE BABY
My day got just a little bit brighter when I saw an upload from this channel today, and it did not disappoint! Hoping TH-cam will start pushing these videos to the masses soon, so that you have to quit your full time job to make more videos for us... 😂
A really good tip is if you ever notice a piece is pinned, try to attack it with a pawn!!! I think you could have forced that night to move a turn earlier by pushing up the pawn in game two rather than castling
For OBS just add a display capture source that will record your screen along with an audio input capture for your mic and you're all good to record/ stream :D
7:50 at least now that youve solved that smothered mate puzzle (where you sack the queen) u should be able to recognise it next time you get another opportunity in a game, its actually a fairly common pattern
3:41 you should have taken the knight on c3 using your bishop then he takes your bishop with his pawn , then you take his bishop with your pawn (the bishop on g5) and then you are just in three point advantage
13:00 holy shit am I genius for discovering this. If u had move that bishop on c1 to f4 then the other bishop takes knight on c6 after he takes the bishop with the pawn. You could have make a juicy royal pin by moving ur knight from e5 > c6 🥶🧠🔥
IT's a common tactic actually. It's called smoothered checkmate where you sac the queen to let their rook take your queen, and then you checkmate their king with your knight.

I feel like smothered mate is a top 3 chess move, beaten only by castling to mate, and promoting to knight mate
What about en passant mate?
