@@SimonClarkSo you're an RLM fan as well? Wow, this explains why that noir bit you did on a recent video felt cheesy in a strangely familiar way. Couldn't put my finger on it, but now it makes sense!
I called the CEO of youtube, alphabet and google to never ever compressed rich evans audio ever again. They immediately bow down to me at the mention of rich evans.
I finally, suddenly comprehend what Rich is describing! He’s not wanting to bring giraffes to Manhattan: he’s wanting to film on elevated platforms to SIMULATE a giraffe’s eye view of Manhattan for the giraffes’ viewing pleasure! It only took me 50 listens.
Hahaha yeah I mean that was the joke, since everything in the dog video was blatant lies like the dog cam and anti piracy, and yet all the animations just use real giraffes
I must say that this music that Noiselund makes has a very warm quality, in a certain nostalgic but pleasant way, like remembering with joy happy times, like summer rain.
That's really a good way to describe it. When the late choruses in this song kick in, I get these weird flashbacks to being in high school in the early 90s, listening to Eric Johnson Ah Via Musicom and Bach harpichord tracks on a mix tape in my shitty Hyundai with the windows rolled down on an early summer day with the smell of freshly cut grass. I've heard some other music over the years that kind of hits that same spot but Noislund really knows how to hit that sunny day nostalgia button better than anyone else.
I can't stop watching this. There is something so wholesome and heartwarming about it. The music makes me feel like there is a hidden meaning to life. And that meaning is something as simple as friends drinking beers, watching dumb movies, making dumb jokes and stupid prank phone calls... ...or maybe it's the purity and melancholy of Don Wilson's genius vision which may never come to pass.
A deep cut by Mike at the end of this one: when he tells Rich "you're 0 for 2 on the crank phone calls", it's a subtle reference to the 0 times that he has beaten Rich Evans in Star Trek: The Next Generation Trivia.
Great fix. I really enjoyed the interpretation of the giraffes being on the platforms. It made me reconsider my understanding of Don Wilson's proposition.
I was a little sad to lose the absurdity of the giraffes on top of the platforms, but the mobs of paparazzi on top each platform just shooting giraffes like crazy in the last animation sequence made it a fair trade.
I had to use a different render engine to speed things up a little and for some reason this one figured that reflected backgrounds should be upside-down 😅 I didn't bother to argue with it.
As much as I loved the original video regardless of 'errors' the visual of the photographers on the platforms taking photographs of the giraffes just looks so goddamn good. The lighting and the angle really sell it!
These songs deeply touch my soul, like maybe no other songs have, and I dont know why. But I dont have to (know). it's very special to experience. I hope the artist sees this.
Another triumph as always Noiselund! On to the playlist this goes. Also, for anyone that doesn't know, there is a PreRec with Rich doing the Don Wilson bit for about 20 minutes - and it's stunningly beautiful.
@@SodiumTasha It's from their Freedom Planet stream, Rich also does a long stint in a Jimmy Stewart voice too, but then goes into Don Wilson in the second part of the stream. Laughed my ass off with it, some serious Don Wilson lore building there. Fun fact: He only told the IRS that his wildlife preserve was in Iowa for tax purposes - it was actually Wyoming. Sadly it's a Starbucks now.
For so many years the RLM folks have been giving us so many laughs, that I have to thank you, for you (on behalf of the fans) give them something back, I'm sure that they appreciate your works.
First I couldn't stop singing the "Oooh baby" bit from the Colin song for weeks, then it was "can you do the high yodel? it's so lovely" for weeks. Now it's "My name is Don Wilson, I own Iowas largest wildlife reserve, I wanna make a video for giraffes, and put on a dvd!" Noiselund making some serious ear worms
...randomly checked if an update had been released 10 minutes before this went live... and still ended up listening to the old version twice anyway. Now I'll probably listen to the new one even more. You're the best, Noiselund.
This is so hard. I love RLM's videos so much but nobody in my life has any interest in it. Then something like this comes along and it's so amazing, but I have nobody to share it with who would even begin to understand the context. I would think the immaculate jams would be enough...but it never seems to stick.
This new remix is nice and all, but I can't help but feel the addition of Rich Evans saying "NOOOO!" during his final sacrifice cheapens the moment a bit.
The tune is appropriate for seeing the birth of a legendary character, "inspirational and optimistic" I'd say. If only the world knew what it was about to receive that day, it was a great day for all, and especially Iowa.
It makes me so happy to have these glorious homages to some of my favorite RLM moments. This prank call is truly masterful work by Dr. Evans, whopper button and exploding varmints are also greatly appreciated.
It's like ... music to my ears. Love the new 2D and 3D platforms with paparazzies. The previous video was certainly missing a certain ... je ne sais quoi.
I like the original 4-track recordings. These remasters just ruin the listening experience! Now I’ve bought the same Noiselund album seven times! On 8-track, Cassette, CD, digital, etc. I’ll take two, please.
You did a better job with Rich's voice than RLM can (Richprobably blows their mics out everytime they do audio capture...poor Jay!...). Thanks for imortalizing RLM in your special way. You have a REAL talent!!

The "We're gonna put it on a DVD!" is understated and so brilliant.
Two beautiful tributes to Don Wilson and his ambitious giraffe vision

I wanna reserve a reservation for that Rich Evans reserve

So glad you think so! Thank you!

Inventive, with a great celebratory tone, and the animation gives it a lot of charm.
Can't wait for the inevitable "Tum's Festival" song.
