Just…wow. When I saw Folsom Prison, I wasn’t sure what direction you were going to take it and was not expecting this one. I was riveted (pun intended) from beginning to end.
It's usually hard for me to listen to Johnny Cash covers simply because he is so legendary but this? Beautiful, amazing, perfect, fantastic, no notes. I shall listen to it one thousand times
I’ve loved The Cog is Dead since I discovered “Killing Floor” years ago. Hearing those bass notes getting hit in such a powerful cover is amazing. Great job!
This was amazing! My wife and I love Johnny Cash and this is one of our favorite songs. You nailed it. It came in hard and just kept getting better. I got chills.
His vocal style usually reminds me of David Michael Bennett, such as the song Bad Days On The Horizon in Steam Powered Giraffe, but here I'm getting hints of Geoff Castelucci doing Sixteen Tons. And yet in one song this band made, The Marvellous Mr. Lowe, he does an impressive homage to ol' Satch, whose voice is so hard to replicate without scratching.
I feel like you definitely got some vibes from Geoff Castellueci (the basssss) and Colm McGuiness (the Celtic flair) for this, did they inspire you any?
Great song as always. On a side note; I remember seeing you live at a steampunk festival in florida in 2014 and seeing you now is inspiring. I'm pretty heavy set and seeing your weight loss is amazing great work man!
I have a song that dates back to the early 1900s that would be great if you covered it come Josephine in my flying machine it is a song from the early 1900s
This Killer Cover of the Johny Cash classic totally rocks.
I like it and I am satisfied.🤘🤘🤘🤘
I definitely haven't expected so much inspiration from celtic music

John's channelling some Geoff Castellucci along with his Johnny Cash - and I'm there for it! Bravo, sir!
this almost gives me huge abney park vibes, from their old days
Слушаю вас с 2014 года, отличная музыка
Banger after banger! Wow!!! ❤❤❤❤
This was amazing! My wife and I love Johnny Cash and this is one of our favorite songs. You nailed it. It came in hard and just kept getting better. I got chills.
I'd love to hear a cover of Danzig - Mother someday.
That is some MAD bass. Niiiiice,. Keep on covering!
Keep up the good work! Great Job! I like the style as well.
Another fantastic cover! Keep up the good work! I hold out hope that one day, you'll tackle Voltaire's "When You're Evil."
I must confess, I let out a little squeal of joy at this suggestion. 💜
@@patriciadilday447 I always have that reaction to a cover by them, but that particular one would really blow my mind!
That makes two of us!
Make that the three of us! You never know what to expect from Jon Sprocket.
@@DovahGirlie That's one of the best things about them: you never know what to expect!
The music, the voice, the video, the remake all together is a perfection. Thank you for it.
Awesome!
Always a good day when new song drops! Excited!
Liking and Commenting so that the algorithm can give me more of these! keep up the good work!

All I’ve been seeing is good stuff here❤❤❤❤
Amazing, I loved it ❤❤❤
I remember asking here what was your vocal range and having an answer "dunno really". This song makes me think of that question again :)
Thanks! This was an exercise in trying to hit lower notes than I've done before. It was quite a challenge, haha!

Excellent!!! You give another life to the songs
I love how deep your voice gets in this. ❤❤❤
Well, damn. This came out of a whole different field altogether and in no way disappoints! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
No exaggeration--- this gave me chills!!!! So good!
loving the celtic elements
Where do you keep pulling these bangers from?!?!
I feel like you definitely got some vibes from Geoff Castellueci (the basssss) and Colm McGuiness (the Celtic flair) for this, did they inspire you any?
I had no idea you could project that bass! Well done.
John looks strange without goggles. It MUST be prison. :P
You certainly made that your own. I love it!
Your voice continues to amaze me, Jon! Good on you for emulating a little Geoff Castelucci as well.
Great song as always. On a side note; I remember seeing you live at a steampunk festival in florida in 2014 and seeing you now is inspiring. I'm pretty heavy set and seeing your weight loss is amazing great work man!
I always forget your voice can go that low. Goddamm this take is amazing!
I love what you did with that beat in the first verse! And also has anyone ever told you your voice could fucking move mountains. Like holy shit.
Super, schade dass du und Johnny kein Duett mehr spielen könnt. Aber wie wäre eins mit Willie Nelson?😉😅
if you want to make a chaotic evil prison song cover may i suggest 6up 5oh cop-out by will wood and the tapeworms
I had blues, now they aren’t blues anymore.
Dude, this is fucking impeccable
Jail house rock. Is Elvis going to be next?
Jeeze it's an indy revival of Cash!
He must have lost a hundred pounds.
@@ManuelGarcia-ww7gj 130! Thanks for noticing, hehe 😁
@@thecogisdead You're half the man you used to be! I have an extra 130lbs I could stand to lose to get healthy.
Looking forward to hearing this
As am I
Watch "Weird Al" Yankovic - Polkamania! (Official Music Video)
See how many of the Cog is Dead covers Weird Al covers.
@curtishoffmann6956 Haha! Three. It would have been four had I finished my parody of Shape of You a few years ago, lol
I absolutely love this!
Great as always! And so different
What a banger cover!! I love Cash, and you did this song perfectly. Great job as always!
Oh my god, how did I miss this? Wow that's good!
Oooh, this is going to be *good*. "I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die, now listen closely."
God dam this is great he so be proud if heard it
Definitely four stars 🌟
seeing the countdown appear in my recommended was a very welcome jumpscare, and evidently it was worth the wait
I like this. Thank you
grinding onthe rails is such a cool visual
Damn good cover

Cool 😎
you can't surpass the man in black, once a song is his is stays his, but you can honnor it, and you sir have honored it in your way!
Omg that voice 😭😭😭 soooo good
Proper coolas!
What a delight!
Great work man!

Holy crap this is amazing.
You are amazing.
I mean finally! I can't wait
Cool!
Interesting cover but way too low into the bass on the vocals. Sometimes hard to understand and an impression of a deep fat vocal fry.
Jonny Cash would be proud of this. Great job.👍
❤❤
