You standing there like a broken man after walking back to the van is priceless. I feel your pain. As a vehicle detailer I love these kind of disasters jobs where you need deep sucking and cleaning of the interior. Big job to get that back to normal but certainly doable.
I feel your pain mate we had a similar van flood a few months ago, when ever you use Horti fittings the pressure will always be high, just half open the lever and check the output before attaching the hose.
That’s why i have the back of my van tanked with a spray water proof liner, also my water feed in and out faces out of the van witch if a qr connection fails the water for the most part will flow out not in.
This is a great video, I love seeing these compared to a lot of others as you show the downsides and issues, instead of just the good parts. I had my van flood once, so felt your pain there
I felt for you watching all that water pouring out your van. I do like how honest you are when things don’t go plan. I would have had a proper Basil Fawlty branch thrashing tantrum if that was me
So if the water output was checked you could have closed off the tap to reduce rate and all would have been good. Maybe always have a digital attachment on so every time you set up you can see what flow rate issues are going to be dealt with.
Maybe. Although commercial cleaners use standpipes all the time which have a much higher average flow rate than you'd ever need for the output of the pressure washer and they don't seem to have issues. I think in this particular case I just need to double check that everythings tight before I start. Do you have any links to flow gauges you'd recommend? I don't know where to start with electrical gadgets like that 😂
I’m not in this line of work but I’m a plumber, if I were you I’d buy a Honeywell pressure reducing valve to fit inline on your inlet setup. Also your float valve in your tank would probably be better suited with an old style brass ‘part 2’ float valve. I just think it would be more robust and reliable. Fair play for keeping your calm, I’d of struggled to keep my cool with that!
great job hope the van dried do you charge per meter or per job as im getting into pressure washing i have almost got all the kit just need a few tips on pricing, keep up the good work.
Sugar, I hope the van is recovering and there are no control boxes under the drivers seat! If you can get a dehumidifier in there each night to get rid of the damp?
I wasn't worried about an instant transformation on such a big job, I wanted to give the customer long lasting results so biocide is better in this case. I usually use hypo on most other jobs unless I the customer expressed interest in a longer term maintenance plan
As a carpet and upholstery cleaner aswell, I’d recommend getting a sanitiser sprayed on any fabrics including carpeting. Just so you don’t get that foisty smell.
I'd be really interested to know how you price as I'm doing a few for my current customers mostly just small patios just jetwash occasionally bit of hypo and if they want it biocide see I'd be happy to be making around 200 a day or is it possible to earn much more?
Hello mate, we just flooded our berlingo.. if you need any advice on drying it out then let us know.. i hate to say it but its a bit of a pig and there is more water than you might imagine
Thanks buddy. Yes I tried it once lol, didnt like it, took ages, results werent very consistent. I'd never consider it on an area this big. Maybe on a tiddly job
Oh dear....with water pressure that strong its always a good idea just to turn the mains tap on to.half pressure so it's not flowing so fast 😢
Thats taking a good clean to a other level. Park the van on a incline and go under it and remove to drain plugs untill you have time to strip out
Thanks I'll check that out in the morning
Seeing the water pour out the front my jaw just hit the flow with a big WTF!! , hope its not done any damage to the electrics, cracking finish
I know I was speechless 😂

now ya see why outside the UK, we don't use vans,
if ya have a light truck or trailer, leaks and spills are far less of a problem.
Crazy flood in the van. Had similar in mine not long ago. Loads of water sitting under the carpets too. It even fried my airbag ECU.
Great job tho 👌
Oh no 😩
Thanks for the kind words
you can definitely source bags of sand cheaper than £7, look for an independent supplier or somewhere like Huws gray
I pay around £4.50 from Travis Perkins, but I think the going rate at Wickes / b&q is around £7 🤔
I pay just over £1.50 direct from quarry for a pallet 70x20kg bags
Dude, what van is that....my jaw was on the floor first 2 mins... the storage space, just in ore of it lol😂
Absolutely gutting for you mate. Hope everything is okay now
Good job you had the gutter vac, could have chucked in a bit of synergy, would have brought that carpet up a treat and a lemony scent too 😂
😂

Gutted for you about hose popping off. I still wonder if a twin turbo would speed progress up
Yeah I may have to invest soon 🤔

The hose fittings he’s using that are the problem. The hose should be clamped on a barb.
Had this happen before I had a bulkhead hose came out of the tank soaked the dashboard electrics seats everything
More common than I thought 😂

I felt for you there Jake. Who would have thought the high water flow would have had that effect?
Great job. What are the orange gloves you have and are they any good.
Thanks mate. They're the thermo / waterproof ones from Wickes. About £7 I think. They're decent yeah
Great video again, can I ask where you got your portable hose reel from 1:32
Thanks matey. Pressure washer sales and service in evesham. The hose cart is quite a generic cheap one but the hose its self is fantastic
Great job mate👌 put that down to experience and not a good one either!! Just a question why did you opt for bio-side not hypo? Because of the plants ?
I wasn't worried about an instant transformation on such a big job, I wanted to give the customer long lasting results so biocide is better in this case.
I usually use hypo on most other jobs unless I the customer expressed interest in a longer term maintenance plan
Gutted to see that water pour out.
That's a massive job well done!
Thanks matey
Nice video mate, question for you, I often see guys re-sanding, but with heavy rain would it not all just wash out again?
That was a lot calmer that I’d have been 😂😂
As a carpet and upholstery cleaner aswell, I’d recommend getting a sanitiser sprayed on any fabrics including carpeting. Just so you don’t get that foisty smell.
@@nathangale-sk5yi what product do you recommend? Cheers
@@TwoGuysinThailand soluclear from world of clean, envirosafe or formula 429 from retailer restoremate. All 3 are excellent products
These things happen matey. Great video. Also where did you get the hose reel from
I'd be really interested to know how you price as I'm doing a few for my current customers mostly just small patios just jetwash occasionally bit of hypo and if they want it biocide see I'd be happy to be making around 200 a day or is it possible to earn much more?
Unlucky ive done it twice but not that good takes ages to dry out
That sucks arse . That’s one reason I don’t work out of a van
Yep nor me🤣
I agree, a trailer system or similar does have its advantages 👍
Hello mate, we just flooded our berlingo.. if you need any advice on drying it out then let us know.. i hate to say it but its a bit of a pig and there is more water than you might imagine
Thanks, I found the drain holes luckily, maybe it would benefit from a dehumidifier
Hi mate. Whats your gun and lance, any chance of a link.
How are you applying biocode to an area that big? Xjet? Or is that hypo only? Cant say the van wasnt cleaned before the new one i guess.
Yes with an Xjet mate. Check out today's Instagram/ Facebook story and you'll see the process. "Smouts pressure washing"
Hi. Great job on your videos!
Have you ever tried wet sanding? any negatives to that?
Thanks buddy. Yes I tried it once lol, didnt like it, took ages, results werent very consistent. I'd never consider it on an area this big. Maybe on a tiddly job
Hi mate , with a good client list and solid work throughout the year how much can one roughly expect to make a year doing this business?
What psi is that with having a flow rate of 30 lpm please could you tell me
Nice setup for a small van
Hi Jake where did you get tour big yellow hose from? Thanks
Hey mate. Pressure washer sales and service in Evesham 👍🏼 tell em smout sent ya
I woulda put hypo on it.
The plan was always to biocide it, so to use both seems like a bit of a waste imo
A Job that size you always need a second person
At least your carpet will be clean
Clean ish 😂
