"A socially-discarded amputee takes revenge on the corporation that signed his death warrant by ending its entire executive suite" is a plotline that could fit many genres, but I wouldn't have expected it to be such a magnificent comedy.
Not only signed his death warrant, but signed it because of their own screwup. If Kale had never picked up Chai's MP3 player, and thrown it away so callously, the whole game wouldn't have happened because without it, Chai wouldn't have the Guitar weapon.

Chai is one of those characters that SO easily could have been an insufferable asshole, and we could have hated him. They kept him so charming and lovable and toed that line so perfectly
Chai is just a confident dork that so desperately wants to be cool, but doesn't actually mean any harm and still genuinely cares about what he's doing. He's great.

This game is like a mashup of KickBeat, Scott Pilgrim, Ratchet and Clank, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Meta Runner and Sunset Overdrive and I Love It!
I just started playing this a couple days ago, and I gotta say it’s the first time in quite a while that a game has just made me smile like that. Even Tears of the Kingdom didn’t pick me up like this beyond the first few minutes.
Ok so quick thing to note is that the game usually plays a bunch of licensed tracks but if you play on streamer mode the ost is replaced with original compositions based on each respective licensed song - while maintaining the same beat and tempo. The game's original ost is some good stuff, and I personally like some of them more than the original songs that they were based off
I just finished playing this for a few hours too and I genuinely think the mechanics are so fun and just so original in comparison to most other beat-em-up type games. Plus, the art style and character designs are fucking awesome! Definitely a lot of fun to play

But then I saw you guys were playing it and it made me infinitely more curious and willing to take a look at it so I decided to check it out. Its interesting that most robots are implied to be referred to by their model number in an alpha-numeric pronunciation like O5-KAR is Oscar or Oskar, but the fridge bot VA-SF07 isn't Vasfol, he's Smidge (SMart frIDGE squished together, if that wasn't obvious), and 808 is pronounced as just saying the numbers 8 0 8.
This game kinda reminds me of another music-based game on the switch called Soundfall, the only difference being that this game is infinitely better in every way possible.
I'm sorry, this game looks like it has a lot of character to it, and the art style is lovely, but there is a very specific kind of writing that I absolutely cannot handle, and this game is making me shrivel up into a ball. I hope y'all have a good time with it, but I'll.. actually be skipping a series, which feels wrong. Couldn't even make it 2 minutes in.

THIS GAME IS AMAZING, I'm loving the surge of action rhythm games coming out!! This game just oozes with personality and passion, and even the stream safe version of the music is FIRE (I personally like it more then the Reg soundtrack)
Hey! I'm gonna use your comment as a bit of a billboard to hopefully answer, and for anyone else who noticed, this issue. For the first part, I accidentally turned on a setting that set the game's Major Cutscenes to 4k Resolution, which ended up desyncing the audio for those cutscenes (but not for the gameplay). For every future part, this issue is fixed! Sorry for the issues it caused, and thanks to anyone who stayed through it anyway 💙
Dammit I was really hoping y’all stick with SpongeBob and the Cosmic Shake but this is definitely the more popular option…it’s a short game so I’m hoping you continue this and then head back to SpongeBob
