    Forget mass gainer. Get a blender. If youre broke go to a second hand store and buy one. And add oats with your whey protein. Cheap. Add berry's and a banana. With milk. And yum

    I gained more muscle with a month of mass gainer and working out than with a whole year of working out without supplements. I eat very little so I wish I invested in this way earlier.

      @@wc3362 GNC Bulk 1340. Easily gains you 10 pounds with moderate exercise. Probably a lot more of you work out a lot. It took me like 2 months but I don't work out that frequently so it's probably faster for most people.

    The mass gainer theory is 100% true. Skinny guy back then didnt had a big appetite, after consuming MASS FUSION (mass gainer) it made a whole lot of difference. Became bigger and appetite increased. Now on to WHEY!!

      Reaper 10813 use milk for it to add more calories. I use to consume it like an hour or two before bed then I increases it by taking it two times a day but don't skip meals just to take the mass gainer, you could take it like 30 mins after you eat breakfast and then an hour before bed and soon you'll have a big appetite and look bigger. Then move on to whey. I was 142 lb 6 months ago and now I'm 186 lb

    Thank you bro, I basically have been conditioned to survive on one meal per day due to my living circumstances over the past few years and whey is helping enable me to eat more most days. I’m going to switch to the mass for a while to try and get back to the beast I once naturally was in my teens. Your breakdown on how it effects your appetite; I haven’t heard anyone else on TH-cam explain it like that. 🤝

    I’ve been seriously training for 5 years or so. What I’ve found is that the optimum nutrition serious mass is good to start. Even in my bulking phases I felt tired and drained when I drank serious mass. If you want to pack on muscle and clean muscle the gold standard is the way to go.

      This is old but I’m getting started on my journey. I’m 6’3 and started at 155 5 months ago. It’s so hard to gain weight but I’ve managed to get to 175.

      @@thatonegamer6792 yeah man it’s very hard with builds like ours. I started at 135 at 6 foot 2 inches and got up to 215. Took me about 2.5 years at the time. Now I maintain a nice healthy weight around 200 pounds. My biggest tip is to do progressive overloads. Do small reps like 3-5 reps and do maybe 3-5 sets but go for heavy lifts. Take nice long breaks. Don’t touch the treadmill at all or do any HIT training. And eat. A LOT. Maybe shoot for 3500 calories a day and work up to 4000-5000 if you want to see serious gains. Keep it clean and eat healthy and drink your two shakes a day. Should see more progress that way. Best of luck bud

      @@nem3908 takes dedication man. Nobody said it was easy. Meal prepping and having meals ready for the next few days is the only tip I can give you for regulating your diet. Actual food is always better than a shake. Only reason I stay away from the mass gainers nowadays is because of all the extra stuff they put into them. Just isn’t as healthy. They’re good for getting you out of a rut though if you’re insanely thin.

    I can't set my mind to eating large amounts (in terms of physical volume) of actual food. Having a calorie dense scoop of powder that easily fits in my belly really helps me, that's why I started using it. I feel like that's a good reason if anyone has that problem too.

      thats the exact reason why i want to use something like this but im kinda sceptical about the whole situation a lot of people are straight up againts it saying you should just eat better quality over quantity and maybe they are right , at this point i have no clue what to do because all i did for a while now is trying to eat a lot (im skinny and having a hard time gaining weight) but i cant see the result anymore and im losing motivation every day... which one are you using and does it work for you?

      something to add is that i came from this guy: ATHLEAN-X (on youtube) where he explains how these mass gain products are just marketing sketches fully loaded with crappy stuff you should never take and while everyone there on the comments agrees on it making fun of everyone buying the product on videos like these people are like yea these stuff work and helped me out a lot ... now how should i now which one is true lol

      thanks but i already figured out in the meantime and gained over 7kgs already... im keeping myself away from sugar which these mass gainers are full of im taking some protein tho sometimes only in the morning sometimes at night too i can see the result too so my motivation is back on track!

    Correct me if im wrong. The calorie intake looks higher for the serious mass because the serving size is larger at 334g vs whey at 32g. If you divide both calories by their serving size. You get almost the same ratio of calorie to serving weight.

    Thanks for the info mate I’m thinking of getting the mass gainer to increase size as i use the normal gold standard whey protein. I’m currently at 92.5kg and wanna bulk up to at least 105kg. I’ll update this comment when I start seeing progress!💪🏽

      Sorry lads for the late reply!
      So,
      In the process of training and taking the mass gainer, I’ve lost a lot of body water and body fat! I’ve also added 2 kilos of muscle to myself which I’m pretty impressed with! I’ve noticed The eating part is hard to maintain. At times i get tired or lose interest in food, but you have to be very committed and consistent!
      The results so far are amazing! I’m currently sitting at 95kg! I’m looking more toned and big as what people at the gym, work and my friends say! They think I’m on steroids and ask me a lot but i will never get on that bs as I’m planning on staying natty!
      105kg looks like a long shot but I’m liking the way i look atm so I’m thinking about maintaining this weight for now!
      All I gotta say is, you need to be consistent with your eating as well as your mass gainer and training! Stick to the basics that have worked for years! Do not expect results on the spot, good things take time😉

    When I started lifting I was an average guy weighing around 68kg and taking Whey protein. I was not gaining so I decided to try Mass gainer to increase my calorie intake since I am not a heavy eater. 6 months later, I weigh around 73 kg but my problem now is the small packs I had are disappearing and I have gained fat on my stomach even though I do stomach exercises, play soccer to burn calories, and do at least 10,000 steps daily. I am now thinking of returning to Whey protein before my belly is uncontrollable.

    Thanks man, I’m underweight right now so I think I need Serious Mass for now, and switch to Whey Protein once I get bulked and my BMI becomes normal (and visually bigger). In the mean time I’m currently working out at home and improving my cooking skills so I can eat more and better. Hopefully I can look apparently bigger and surprise my friends after the lockdown!

      Usually I put in 0.5 servings with full cream milk for desirable mouthfeel and consistency

      It took me years to get back to a healthy build after UNI.

    Essential = Needed , you can't say you don't need it but it's essential lol I mean I know you mean you can gain without it but if it's essential then it's needed . Mass gainer is Definitely more effective for weight gain that's just my own experience as a female user .

    But the serving for mass gainer is 10 times bigger lol so better to go for the whey protein and mix it with peanut butter and banana and you will get better mass gainer with a little powder

      Andre Patatanyan I have 4.5KG optimum nutrition serious mass at home and it is cheaper than any kind of whey. u saying it has 8 servings, while it really has 16, and who the heck eats so many servings? you dont even need mass gainers, however half scoop is all you need. 600+ calories. and if you buy whey guess what? 130 calories only coming from protein lmao.. 32servings of 600+ calories vs 30servings of 130+ calories... u decide whats better😂 However mass gainers are total bullshit unless you are really eating to a point where you cant eat anymore, you dont need them otherwise. You dont even really need whey but however it is more beneficial after a workout than just a meal as the shake contains BCAAS. Again dude, first figure out the diet to 100% and then decide whether you need gainer / whey.

    Started taking Gainer at the beginning of my journey 4 months ago. Went from 135-165
    Noticing I'm getting a belly, so going to the whey protein isolate. I work out 6 days a week and do a lot of cardio but I think it;s time to ditch the gainer. Any advice Alex?

      Dont waste your money buying mass gainer or protein shakes. Youd get 10x more out of your money by buying foods with protein and calories out of the cheap stuffs. I suggest you buy a blender and mix 2tbs of peanut butter, half a cup or a cup of milk, 1 cup of oats, 1 to 2 tbsp of olive oil, any sized banana. Easy peasy. And if you won't still gain weight that means you are not eating enough, then do these 2 to 3x a day. Try downloading my fitness pal as well so you would be able to track your macros and calorie intake.

    Liquefied carbs get processed as fast as sugar, even if it says there's not much sugar in it. Same as drinking sodas pretty much. Get the whey and add quality fats... peanut butter, coconut oil, milk (yes, some liquid carbs in there, but not much)

    I just realized, whey protien was 32g for 120 Calories while Mass gainer was 334g for 1,250 Calories. BOTH are 1,250 Calories, only difference is what they contain

    Hi, unfortunately, the calory logic is wrong. The whey protein is 120 calories for a 32g serving. The serious mass (SM) is 1250 calories for 334g. If the SM is scaled down to 32g, the calories scale down to 119.76 calories per serving. That's the same number of calories as the whey protein. Thank you.

    I'm a skinny person too. But if I have to choose between mass or whey then I have to choose whey. You just have to eat more in between meals if you want to gain weight. Whey is good for those that want to have lean muscles with slow gains and controlled body fat. Again just EAT MORE.

    Keep in mind, normal whey has 120 calories per serving which is 32g, mass gainer has 1250 calories per serving which is 334g, good luck with 334g of nasty powder everyday. You are much better by just adding bananas, peanut butter, olive oil etc to normal whey (and healthier).

      @@blair5475 my comment was a pun ("whey" better) lol but to answer your question, gainers have the low quality fats, carbs and sugars, etc.... so I make my own gainer using whey protein and blend it with real food.. oats, bananas, sometimes olive oil, or peanut butter, etc, to add the good fats and carbs. Athlean X talks about why gainers that we buy aren't the best option. Instead, we should be making our own gainers. :)
