I've just tried them out for the first time and took them on a 32 km hike. I've used them for 22 km of the way, the other 10km I've had on the Gel-Glyde 3 MX, which are essentially a GT-2000 8 with a door-to-trail outsole. The Gel Trabuco 12 held me down through the woods, sand, and even on tarmac. I've got them on offer for 80 EUR and they've proven to be amazing value already.
That's the best trail shoes in the market. I've tried MANY other, and this was the only one that provides good traction, versatility, cushion and durability. HOKA shoes (e.g. Speedgoat) are good also, but they simply don't last and after few months they feel like rubbish. From HOKA, I only use Bondi 8 and Mach 6.
I’m using the Trabuco 11 GTX for the hiking session and really loved the midsole as it’s not too soft but also not that firm and the outsole is very grippy on all kind of surfaces
Glad you’re taking a look at this! I’m in SpeeGoats on the trail and ASICS Gel Cumulus on the road, so interested in how this turns out (although I need to check if this comes in wide to even be an option for me).
I used the trabuco 12’s for my last 2 100 milers. Both ultras had every combo of terrain. Really happy with them overall. One concern is I’m wondering how the mid sole will last, not sure if they’ve started to harden 🤔. I’ve definitely benefited from half size bigger. I like my shoes a little wider fit I but don’t buy the wide fit.
I used the 11"s and found that they wouldn't lock down, slopy in the forefoot.I'm going to try going down 1/2 a size and see if that helps as otherwise i like the shoes.
what is more comfortable from the trabucco 12 or trabucco max 3 ?? i have gel kayano 30 which is amazing but no lugs for the trails... i want the same comfort and feeling show with lugs, so which do u recommend?
Have you run in Trabuco 11? I tried on Trabuco 11 GTX a while back and found both its midsole and upper quite hard and rigid. Sounds like the 12 is much better.
coming from the 11, havent looked back ever since, the 12's are much more lighter and better material for the outdoors. Hands down would not look at other line moving forward.

I’m between the trabuco 12 and speedgoat 5 for backpacking. Which would you get?
@@enkeierick both are great, but trabuco 12 is more stable and very versatile and most importantly DURABLE :)
Agreed! I've found Hoka soles wear out far too fast

In what kind of temperatures do you use it? Does the GTX version do well keeping moisture out while not being too overly hot on your feet?

Got these the other day, great shoe!

How do you guys compare this to the Trabuco Max 3? Or do anyone ever compare?
Same question, would love to hear someone with expertise chime in.

Thank you for your review. Are these water resistant?
Just ordered the gtx version. Wonder why they got rid off the old lace hiding flap on the toung.
how do they compare with the trabucco max 4?

Can you use orthotics with these?
is it good for road/running activity? thank you
This is trail running shoes. For road use novablast 5 or superblast 2

Might need to break in the midsole first
The GTX version feels much rigid because its waterproof material which feels like plasticky. the non GTX version feels lighter.
Is this recommended for winter running?
Same question. These or peg trail gtx?

made in indonesia or vietnam?
Vietnam
Are they waterproof?
There is 12 GTX trabuko, this one is regular
Would you recommend an insole for this shoes?
Would you recommend these Asics for using on treadmills at the gym?
No, they've been specifically designed for trail running. Road/tarmac running shoes should be used on a treadmill.
@@rosslogan4154 Do asics make a shoe for the gym & road you can recommend.
😂
What's wrong with your teeth?
You're here to intimately at his face/mouth/teeth? Or are you here to get the shoe review? I think you are looking for Grndr. Best of luck!
