Nancy, I am so grateful to you as I am learning so much watching each of your tutorials. The volume of your knowledge is astounding. It is great that you seem to always be aware that there are several ways to approach each task. It helps me to be able to determine what I need to purchase right away and those that can be purchased as I progess. Thank you again.

Nancy... this was wonderful..... you even had my husband laughing in the background while I was watching.... He said you would be fun at a party... ha ha .. I am just starting to learn prong settings so this was very helpful... I have also seen someone dome a ring by putting it in the doming block and hammering it with the mallet.

Hi Anne, Nice to hear from you again! Thank you so much for your lovely post. If you will cook every night too, we've got a deal! Nice to know that Solder Girl has some friends - I worry about her living in the soldering area all alone. I'm glad the videos worked for you - I was worried people would fall asleep because of the length. Next one is going to be short and sweet(?). Take care. Nancy

Thanks so much stormy! I'm afraid, I'm not much fun at a party anymore. Used to be, I guess. Glad the video was helpful to you. When I get my act together, I'll put even more info on setting, on my site. Thanks again. Tell hubby, thanks for the laugh. N

Kisses to you Reigruche! Love the feedback and the kind words. Print and video are great tools, I agree. Almost as good as a live class! I'm trying to turn my website into a book with video but, it is a long, drawn out, time consuming idea. Someday...Thanks for the fab comment and take care. Nancy

As usual I just love the video. I just finish watching all three videos while taking notes. I have a question as for the gauge of sheet metal. How far under 22gauge could you make this ring, like 24gauge or 26gauge? I have some silver at this gauge and if I put this must time in to making the ring I don't want to have to use any kind of sealant. Thanks again for the lesson and the laugher!!! Love Yeah!

Hi Lavonneification, You know, either I have a very poor flaky version of stick Bur Life or that is how it is. Being so flaky, I hate it. When I bought it I thought it would be more like beeswax. I do like the liquid better because of the above issue. I still have to reapply it though, as it eventually wears off. I also like it for sawing as it doesn't clog the tiny pores on a small blade like a 6/0 or an 8/0. Nice to hear from you again. Take care. Nancy

Do you find the liquid Bur Life works better than the stick Bur Life? I have the stick and I like it but I have to continuously reapply it during use.

    Hi Nancy,
I looovvved the 3 videos (but I love all your videos) and I thank you for your wisdom and humor. I think I looovvved you!
May I live with you for a month to absorb some of the knowledge in your brain? I will do dishes and work hard in the studio.
I have a solder girl too and she likes big torches.
    Thanks again,

Hi Multi, I was going through these posts and didn't see my answer to you. Did I respond? If not, no lower than 24 gauge. Silver is a great choice! If I missed your post, I'm sorry. Thanks, as always. Happy creating!

Hi Chealy Te, here's a (sort of) link to the GRS bench system: .riogrande (dot) com/Product/GRS-Benchmate-Basic-Kit/113619?pos=15. TH-cam doesn't allow us to post links here so, that's the best that I can do. I think you mean "copper"? I purchase copper from Rio Grande (dot) com and Metalliferous (dot) com. Hope this helps. Take Care. Nancy

Nancy, Don't apologize for the length of your videos. I think it was Einstein who said explanations should be as simple as possible, but not more so. Some things can't be explained in 30 seconds - much to the chagrin of the short-attention-span generation. I'd rather have a full explanation that runs long than a short explanation that leaves me with misunderstandings or questions!
