He only had 3.5 assists because he wasn’t surrounded by efficient shooters
Portland is one of the worst shooting teams in the league
Portland is just as bad 😂
And because ball hogs like JP and Kuz don't give you too many chances to touch the ball, let alone pass it
See the film and realize that Deni Avdija immediately becomes the best player on the team. Please don't bury him as a third option.
What there is not to like about Deni honestly? Great all around player, high iq, great winner attitude, team player, solo capabilities, always improving, size and quickness, one of the best defense players on the nba, great passer, very improved in offense, can shoot 3s and close to the bucket. Best wizard player last year.
I completely agree with you, the man is basically a three level scorer that can lock down the 1 through 4 on defense, and an amazing play maker especially on the break, a great rebounder and a highly intelligent decision maker, we've been looking for a wing like this for years, I really believe we will have one of the best front courts in the league with him and Clingan, just saying.
@@fromthetribeofyahudah9090 Yes. If he has the ball usually good things happen and the whole team benefits.
I think Deni is exactly the kind of guy Portland needs to facilitate competence in their rebuild.
What would be nice is Blazers picking up some veterans for cheap that can mentor our guys without taking away too much ball time. A CP3 to the Spurs kind of situation.
There aren't a lot of players in the league that are good mentors, and there aren't a lot of spots in the roster (full 15 players right now). I can see some options in trades like if JG is traded to the Lakers. D'angelo Russell is better options then Rui Hachimura and Gabe Vincent (better player, expiring contact and a vet PG). Anyway Chauncey Billups should be a mentor to the young guards too.
Played with him and been watching him for years. Blazers fans- yall got a stud. For some of you guys that are unsure, I know it's brutal, but watch some full games of wizards last year (specifically the game vs the pels for obvious reasons) and see why deni is such a great addition to your team. Gr8 contract too! Def worth 2 first rounders ( both likely mid first rounders, anyway).
I expect him to become a key player and reach All-Star level. He has the tools of a late bloomer
AVDIJA WILL BE AN ALL STAR. PORTLAND WILL ENJOY HIM
Portland GM are the real winner in Deni trade! No one believed that anyone can get Deni...
Deni Avdija is best as a point forward. he played PG at high-school. they've changed his role from SF to point forward after the TDL and his numbers went to 20ppg 6apg 8rpg at that part of the season. ending with 15 6 4 the all season. True shooting 60%.
all the reactions I see online from Portland fun are how lucky we are to get Avdija
Cronin and Mike Shmitz with a brilliant move to get Avdija. Blazers have now a young core with three players with AS potential in Sharpe, Deni and Scoot. Cant ask for more. Very happy for POR. Also Clingan might develop to a Mark Gasol level player, who knows.
The reason Deni had improved shooting is because he worked on it and changed the way he shoots. His shot got a way better arc.
Also, he got confident. It changed him in all aspects of his offense.
Deni improved his throwing technique last season. Much higher range and much quicker. Even in the end of the season when his 3% went a little down it's because he tried more pull ups and harder shots. In catch and shots he was 40.5%. anyway that's a player with realy smart moves, like in opponents long shots (3% and middle range), Deni cover sight from one eye of the opponents. He is trying to destroy his depth perception to the basket. Deni was first in the league in pace, and he is one of the best players in fast breaks.
Why the fuck aren’t contenders breaking their back to get this guy on their team???? He’d be a perfect fit for OKC to add size, versatility, defense, and rebounding.
The roomer in DC has it that OKC and Dallas were chasing Deni as well, but couldn't meet the Wizards' asking price tag for him.
@@israteeg752 Portland got him for nothing lol
People were upset because they gave up 2 lottery picks and brogdon for him. They already felt the Blazers didn't get enough for Lillard
Deni is better than Batum. Rebounds and Passes better than Jeremy Grant. Deni is a tough guy like Drew Eubanks.
We definitely got better with this pick up if you dont know that ur just lost
Besides being a great basketball player deni is a very good guy with a great personality that is very hard not to like. You will learn to love him very quickly. He is a basketball player with a European mentality who goes on the court every game with the goal of winning. He will do everything even if he has to give up shots to the basket. He is a team player who plays for the team and not for his statistics. The only thing that will make him happy in Portland is number 8 on his jersey. All the years since he was a kid he was number 8 except for one year when he got number 9 Washington. He also wears shirt number 8 in the games in the Israel national team. Together with Deni, Portland receives about a million new Israeli fans who watch all his games wherever he goes
Deni needs the ball in his hands. Otherwise, he will not be effective.
I hope Portland understand that..
Deni's high IQ, unselfishness and *_amazing vision,_* works best in a pass first offense, so PDX needs to trade for some reasonable team-players, as they currently have none and this will waste Deni. Also if you want to unlock Deni's great slashing, you need at least _some_ shooting..
Always better to act then not, I think its a good move, meaning C basement B+ ceiling. Love GMs making moves. Go down swinging instead of waiting to perish amongst the meek
Lots of minutes for a crappy team that needs new ownership.
bienvenido a potland deni avdija
He may have a seat at end of bench. Jeremy Grant will get preference. Does Blazer coaching staff have grip on who this team can be?
Time to trade Scoot & build around Ant, Advija, & Sharpe.
Deni is trash, so glad he’s gone. The more they centered the team on him to look good the worse the team looked.
You didn’t get a steal you got robbed.
I disagree. They fleeced the Wizards.
