Clingan only played 22.5 minutes per game this year. No doubt he’s just the backup right now. There’s a real possibility he never averages over 30 mins a game in a season. He’s just always been a lower minute guy. And I think that would be okay. If he’s elite when he’s out there, we can conserve his energy with other rotational centers too.
Finally having some big dudes that can play on the team is a great problem to have. Match-ups is the name of the game in the NBA, so having flexibility to put different line-ups out there, even for parts of a game, is how you be more competitive.
Really hope we get some DA + Clingan minutes, Aytons jumpshot is so smooth and the similarity to Aldridge is there in my opinion. If Grant gets traded which I believe we all agree should happen then Simons, Sharpe, Deni, Ayton, Clingan with Scoot, Toumani, Timelord and Hachimura if we can get him from LA is a very good and entertaining team in my opinion
If Williams health outlook seems positive keep all 3. You can always have a twin towers thing going on or at least a tower with a strong almost tower.. Lots of offensive rebounds and putbacks and the rim protected. Need 3 guys on the floor who can pass and shoot to go with em and ya have potential.
Clingan mentioned 3 point shooting like 4 times in that presser as a main strength he brings to the team. For better or worse I get the feeling he’s letting it rip to start the year
Scoot, Simons, Sharpe, Deni and Ayton... If Ayton plays soft af like he did last year, replace him with Clingan... I see Clingan being the next Prizbila, then to have Clingan coming off the bench... Mannnnnn all we need is a scoring 6th man and we're on our way... Let's go Blazers
If you aren't planning to sign a new free agent, there isn't a reason to do this. Trading player must coast draft picks, and anyway if he won't be injured, there might be a desperate team that will need a center even with his injuries past.
Deni can play in any position (high PG-small center, and it's not just a theory he has already played all). In this aspect he is very similar to Labron James (of course he isn't in the same level).
Blazers can't even rebuild right. Dump the veteran contracts ASAP! Lose lose lose! Assemble a squad that leans heavily on the young unproven kid's. Ant, Ayton, and Grant shouldn't even still be on the roster rn.
@@Trixter1771 the one he got before he returned to the 2022 playoffs for Boston was. Same as Brandon he hasn’t looked the same since and can barely stay on the court
@@ben9975 the reason Brandon's career went the way it did was because he has the same surgery (cutting out torn meniscus) about 6 or 7 times, leaving no cartilage in his knee. Rob is not in the same boat. Countless NBA players get the same surgery as Roy once or twice. It was the 6 or 7 times and the fact he was left with 0 cartilage that ruined his career.
ngl I would love to see an ayton & clingan lineup.

Clingan fits pretty well, he made so many perfect passes to cutters at UConn, which our team has a bunch of (Scoot, Shae, Deni for sure)
2026 starting lineup……Scoot,Sharpe,Deni,Flagg,Clingan. The future is Bright!
Hard nosed defensive line up, multiple ball handlers, great passes and multiple scorers. This would force opponents to shoot from the outside.😊

Why does not a single person who thinks Ayton/Clingan should play together realise defence is half the damn game.
Scoot, Simons, Sharpe, DA, Clingan is gonna be the funniest lineup of all time
Oops no forwards
🚫 Simons

No
An Ayton / Clingan pairing may not work. But I'm curious about Ayton / Reath or Clingan / Reath.

I am looking at this roster and we really need a better option at Power Forward.

He doesn’t blazers doing this thing where they just bringing in talent no matter fit and hoping for the best
It’s very possible for DA to play with him. In Phoenix against the Bucks in 2022 he played the 4 with success
There is almost zero chance Clingan and DA can play effectively at the same time
why is that ?
@@xMantastic No Spacing, neither of them can guard forwards, and neither of them know how to play PF so it would be clunky and awkward on the court
Perfect. We need to tank again next year so try all the wild lineups.
We should trade Timelord to Detroit just to get off his salary.
Not that easy to dump his salary.😢

Banton, Deni, Grant, Ayton, Clingan would be interesting to see on the court together.
It won't happen...
Cut it out
I am not interested in seeing this lineup at all.
Could your opening line be any more annoying?
Don’t watch my boy Mike then. Go to Blazers uprise…
Imo Williams is done in the league. Same surgery as Brandon Roy and so many others who have not been able to keep playing in the proceeding years
Not the same surgery as Brandon... not this most recent one anyway.
