Thanks Steve. It certainly is a BEAUTY. Yes I believe they are. But after checking them out I prefer the retro wheels of this kit and the black is not out yet in the UK anyway lol.
I believe the black edition was released in 2012 and they are about to re-release it. Well it's not available in the UK as yet. A couple of shops are saying it is due in December.
Hi Derek. Cheers mate. It was a real pleasure to build, just finishing the body. Thanks again for the lovely comment mate. Hope your holiday is going well?
Wow, you went all the way! An Avante. Awesome. Great unboxing. You got some work ahead of you! Nice. Congrats. And I like your box-display. Sets the atmosphere for the unboxing. Thumbs up. (Ohh and I believe it is a GT-tuned motor. Got one in my Vajra (Avante chassis) box too and I believe the Bigwig 2017 also got one with a special sticker. It runs good.
Yeah when I read up on it I knew I had to have one. Yes it is a GT tuned motor. Just can't find any info on if you can adjust the timing and if not what the 0 is on the casing. Glad you noticed the boxes, I thought it would look better then glimpses of chargers, curtains and window. Thank you as always for the lovely comment Mikael.
Ooh that looks like a nice kit Rob. I wonder if certain countries get different versions and that's why you saw it with extra wheels included. I know that some kits seem to have 'Bonus Parts Included' written on the front which are usually bearings or shocks. Anyway looks like it's going to be satisfying to build with all those lovely bits. Have fun mate :-)
Hi Pete, nice to read you. Yes it could have been when it was first released in 2011. Yes it is a very enjoyable build. In fact other than the Bruiser I this is my next favourite build. Thanks for the comment my friend.
Oh it's gonna be a beauty Rob. What an iconic Tamiya packed in the old style blisters. Really looking forward to seeing this baby in action. Nice camera work Mark. ;-)
Thank you so much Cosmo. Yes I think this is my third Tamiya with blister packing. Almost cut a couple of fingers off opening some of them lol. I would pass your compliment onto Mark but I suspect he will have already read it for himself. Have a great weekend mate.
Oh the Avante.. I just bought myself an vintage 1988 Avante Mk1 with Mk2 uprights and Technigold -motor. Planning to keep it original with few upgrades. Luvli unboxing Rob!
Really great unboxing and....what a great Kit . So much Metal Parts that look so beautiful. I hope you have a lot of fun building, and I'm looking forward to watching you build. Thank you for sharing and have a nice Weekend.
Hi Harry. Thank you so much for the wonderful comment. Yes I did have loads of fun building but also made quite a few blunders along the way. I hope you won't be disappointed with the first couple of build vids as I had some technical issues and am trying to fix the worst because at the moment I don't think it's watchible. Have a nice weekend to. Sorry if got a dislike notification, my finger twitched when I trying to click like.
Hey Rob - well I'm pleased that the video came out OK! Such a lovely kit, with so many special parts, I dread to think how much it would cost if you bought all the parts separately!!! Looking forward to the build series mate :-)
Yeah it wasn't too bad even with me forgetting the names of things and I'm sure no has noticed other than me how often I say 'so'. It got so bad in my build clips I have started to try to cut them out lol. It is a great kit and has a price tag to match. Thanks again for all your help.
I have to say Charlie the rolling chassis looks awesome. It almost seems a shame to hide the carbon fibre with all the electronics, driver and body. But I would rather scratch the body than the CF. Almost finished the body just the decals to go. Thanks for watching and have a nice weekend mate.
Look a very nice kit, going to look amazing when it's done, don't know where you get the time to do all these Tamiya cars ,you and Mark are Amazing at building these, well done brother 😁😀
Thanks Tony. Well works at a school so has been off and I am sort of semi-retired (got made redundant 2 years ago and am just waiting to start my pension when/if I get to 60 lol). Thanks again for your comment.
Not that I know of, but it is a very expensive kit. It was over 400 GBP when I got it. But at the moment stocks are very low for all kits world wide I believe.
Hi Steven. I would say it is on a par with the Sand Scorcher. I found it that enjoyable that when I discovered that a lot of my initial footage of the build was not usable without a lot of work editing I decided to take it all apart and film the build again. Hope this helps.
That things a BEAUTY a work of art!! tamiya is re releasing this 2011 kit again in the black version.
Thanks Steve. It certainly is a BEAUTY. Yes I believe they are. But after checking them out I prefer the retro wheels of this kit and the black is not out yet in the UK anyway lol.
I gtta get the black edition!
I believe the black edition was released in 2012 and they are about to re-release it. Well it's not available in the UK as yet. A couple of shops are saying it is due in December.
I still want one of these
Cheers mate. They are releasing the black edition again in December here in the UK. So you could ask Santa for one!
Ive already asked him for a C63 AMG Merc but doubt his going to deliver it ;-(
Ooooooh, Very Nice Rob. Aluminium heaven. A different class of Tamiya. Looking forward to this one mate. : )
Hi Derek. Cheers mate. It was a real pleasure to build, just finishing the body. Thanks again for the lovely comment mate. Hope your holiday is going well?
Leave in a few days mate. I'm sort of packing my case in between watching TH-cam and F1 Practice on TV lol : ))

Thanks Cosmo. Wish I had a vintage one to go with this one. They are beautifully engineered and well worth the money. Best wishes my friend.

I hope you have a lot of fun building, and I'm looking forward to watching you build.

Sweet rig Rob! Looking forward to see the build and the running video :)

What????? NICE!!!!!!!!
It is an awesome piece of kit . I just hope my driving can do it justice lol. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a nice weekend.
Has this kit been discontinued yet? They are getting more difficult to find with eBay vendors asking silly prices.
Not that I know of, but it is a very expensive kit. It was over 400 GBP when I got it. But at the moment stocks are very low for all kits world wide I believe.
Nice. When u going to build it
Already completed the chassis Tibor. Just the decals to stick on to finish it off. Thanks for watching mate and have a nice weekend
Hi mate. Is it a difficult build? I'm thinking of getting one... I have built sandscorchers..grasshoppers ect... but this does look quite a challenge.
Hi Steven. I would say it is on a par with the Sand Scorcher. I found it that enjoyable that when I discovered that a lot of my initial footage of the build was not usable without a lot of work editing I decided to take it all apart and film the build again. Hope this helps.
Thanks Rob that helps a lot.. youve just sold it to me. I will go ahead and order. Cheers .
