Brings back great memories when I had my RC cars back in the day. I wish I still had them. I had quite a few different Tamiya off road cars. Thunder Dragon, Terra Scorcher, Vanquish, Grasshopper 2, Toyota Hi-Lux, Madcap, Egress, I had a Avante 2001 body shell and I put on my Egress. Great videos
They definitely look like fun. The Avante looks a little too advanced for a "vintage" RC though, and the Hotshot looks a little too simple. I might get a Boomerang, because it's between those two. Or maybe I'll get a Kyosho Optima instead.
Your videos amaze me Matteo, l'm surprised that Tamiya doesn't hire you to do their advertising of their products!! I love watching your truly professional photography, and well choosen music! Please continue to entertain us RC guy!!
Being nuts is neat, should be the slogan of any Tamiya enthusiast ;-) Love the video. Great to see it run after been following the build series. Congrats!
When I look back and remember that I had one of the first Avante's in Germany in my hands ... and put it back on the shelf to buy a Clod Buster instead ... I could kick myself ... don't get me wrong, I had lots of fun with the Clod. Just having in mind, that I could have had an Avante at that time. Remembering the die casted suspension arms ... now I just have the service sheet with the parts breakdown from that time. Matteo, you're always bringing up good old memories with your videos. Thank you for that. Just another fine clip from you.
Special feeling with these oldies...Childhood memories :D The Egress was my dream car to own but way too expensive. Later on i got a Manta Ray which gave me tons of fun somewhere in 92/93 ish era. I really like how Tamiya comes up with their vintage remakes!
30+ years later and still an awesome car. I had an RC10 when this was new, helped a local hobby shop assemble one of these. It was a very complex build compared to everything else.
Wow !!!! A flight machine pushing hard! :-O You drive it like it runs on 80's races! :-) Great! One of the best RC enthusiasts car to build but no so much for the racer. I remember folks tried to race these back in the late 80's and it was the butt of jokes on the track but really easy on the eyes in the pit area OR collectors display. Very Nice vid :)
Thanks for visualizing my memories from the end of the '80s when I had this beauty! 😊 (I still have it, in bits and pieces... I think all I need is a new middle diff gear 🤔)
