Coming from Delco (Drexel Hill), I'm enjoying your vids about it's history. I'd love to hear about Drexel Hill, Clifton Hights, Sharon Hill, Upper Darby, Havertown, Media, Springfield, and any other towns in the area. Keep up the good work!
I just enjoyed your video. My wife and I lived in Anadarko Oklahoma for several years. The Lenape migrated there after trading the rights to large areas of land in the east; and pushing westward through different treaties with the government. They were granted trust land in Caddo County. They have built their Tribal headquarters north of Anadarko on Rt. 281. They have a courthouse, a museum, and a Casino. I had the good fortune to meet some members of their tribe. Their museum might be a resource for you.
Sean!! I just found you and you are amazing!! an old soul for sure! I live in Delaware County and a lot of the areas you speak of I’m familiar with, but you are so knowledgeable and know so much about them! Would you ever consider taking along some of us on your walks and teach us in person? I would love to do that! Thank you! You are my new favorite on TH-cam. I’m catching up on all of your videos.
Thanks for Sharing! Especially during these past few days, so cold! My Grandmom lived on Lenni rd in Chester Heights near Aston and she found an arrow head on her property many years ago, my Mom wound up giving it to the new owners of my grandmother's house.
I live in Swarthmore and I'm an avid hiker of the area (locals don't pronounce the "R" in "Swarth" but that's small peanuts) so it's really cool to have a TH-camr in my backyard compiling history and seeing it for themselves. Here's hoping we cross paths (😎) someday!!! Also, go inside and get warm hahahah, goodness gracious is it cold out there
I was born on DaRtmouth ave in the 70s and I’ll never forget the silly debates over the R😂 my mom was definitely not a local then and she was a SwaRthmore type Resident 😂
As a Boy Scout we used to hike to and camp out at Minquas Pines between Ridley Creek and Ridley Creek road just west of Baltimore Pike going south as you leave Media. Its note called Lewis W Scott Memorial Park.
"Conrad Weiser 1696-1760 Friend of Colonist and Mohawk" by Paul A. W. Wallace. 575 pages of diary entries, letters and insight covering the struggles of Native Americans and colonists.
Wonderful videos! I also watched the one on the Minqas Path near Ridley Creek. I live near West Chester and realized that Rt 100 /High St was built over the old MP. Are there any Lenape burial grounds in the area?
I would love to see footage of you at Valley Forge, describing the role of the Lenape Native Americans in the Colonial Period of Montgomery County. Apparently the Welsh first settled there and named towns such as Bala Cynwyd for example. I wonder who settled there next. And further, what role did the Lenape and native peoples have in the Revolutionary War in Valley Forge. I would love to see what you come up with.
Moved to Swarthmore sight unseen with my Husband that grew up here. Really don’t like it to be honest, but you’re making me like it more with this great history
I grew up there and my mom probably would share your sentiments 😂 she called her favorites swarthmorons but she loved the history of the area and volunteered as a guide at the liper house (he made a video about it). It’s a great place for kids to grow if allowed to be free in the outdoors to explore the town, parks and woods.
Whatt? Swarthmore is Beautiful. Have you seen the College? It's gorgeous. All the houses are different architecture and large. There's all the different trees, it's like Narnia driving through Swarthmore.
Good viddy, I lived in Springfield for decades as a kid. BTW ... Lima (Leemah) is in Peru... here it's called "lime-ah"... dunno why... chalk it up to "wooder" vs. "whatter" kind of Delco thing
The Old music video of Bruce Springsteen....."BORN IN USA" Bruce stands before the sign ......"MORTAN AMVETS " Check it out. It passes fast but it is there...... Or was in the Video decades ago
I have always thought that schools should teach as much “original” history as they could possibly teach. Because if parents don’t teach kids local ancient history, then how will they ever know to even ask? Drives me crazy. Like, we were told once in a random conversation in 5th grade (I think) that the town I grew up in was an ancient Native American settlement. And that they had been there literally forever, and that they still were until well into the 1900’s. Zero local history taught in school. It’s nonsense.
You definitely want a copy of Indian Paths of Pennsylvania by Paul A. Wallace. It’s really the standard guide.
@@jeffmathison7983 thank you for the recommendation.

The lenape were in my area in berks county. Perhaps they were pushed there by the other tribe or settlers

Germantown Ave in Philadelphia is a old Indian path
Wasn’t it the Paxton boys that exterminated the Susquehanna people?
