We just read the news this morning that El Salvador is entering a 30 day state of emergency due to increased gang violence and social unrest (there was a gang that went on a killing spree killing 60+ random people in the streets...). We are not in El Salvador anymore, we are home in Belgium and we are safe, so no need to worry about us ❤ Our hearts go out to the people affected by this violence 😔 we hope that those of you who are in El Salvador or have loved ones there are safe and that things get better soon 😥

Woah my fiance and I are actually here in Sam Salvador. I arrived Saturday night and had no clue ! We were downtown and saw the extremely heavy police / military but thought i was for everyday security measures. Thank God for our safety🙏🏿🙏🏿

@@aderonike3053 you might want to take some extra care given the current situation. We don't know the rules exactly (maybe there is a curfew or something?), but you can always ask the people at your hotel reception. People in El Salvador are super nice, they will be happy to help! Happy to hear you are safe ❤

The Jar is the Salvadoran sauerkraut (known as curtido). It’s the typical side dish accompanying Pupusas and it enhances the taste, it’s absolutely delicious. It’s fermented and I’ve never, ever known of anyone get sick from it: foreigner or local.
Yes you are right it is fermented which does reduce the risk. But our gut still says not to eat things that have been out in the heat for so long haha, can't help it :D

I really would love to see you vlogging off beaten tracks in central and South America meeting the communities that make those locals so special. Give a voice to the native and learn from them.
USA and Canada are in that sense a lot less appealing to me (history food culture) though they both have undeniably amazing nature.
I’m planning a long over due Argentina trip next year! In the meantime I’m probably going to pop in to Brussels 😜soon

Specialty pupusas can cost $1 to 1.50 but the regular ones are 3 for a dollar and the curtido is safe and made with vinegar no refrigeration needed.

It's considered a crime to eat pupusas with a knife and fork. So you're sentenced to come back and eat them the proper way. We open them up, so they cool down faster😉. The jar has pickled cabbage (curtido), usually made the night before. Some people like me, eat more curtido than pupusas 😁, so that bottle doesn't stand a chance of sitting at the table for too long. You guys need to come back, El Salvador is in a process of transformation. I'm planning on going as soon as they open the pier in La Libertad 🤗🤗🤗

Our videos do not have Mandarin titles for people who use English in their browser, we always make two separate titles (one for Chinese-speaking viewers, one in English for everyone else)! El Salvador is not very touristy, and probably even less so with covid, probably that is why there are not so many people (or at least that is our guess). We heard that on weekends it turns into more of a party town and that more locals go there too, so then it might be more crowded :)

el tunco beach is a quite rocky palaya surfing tourist area, on weekends it is very crowded and at night it is bursting with party, My recommendation is to go a Beach Las Flores , Costa Del Sol, Mizata , El Cuco , El Espino , Los Cobanos , Punta Mango , Meanguera (The latter is located on an island in the Gulf of Fonseca) But all those mentioned beaches are beautiful with white or dark sand, also reddish, Also the peculiarity of the beach Los cobanos Its coral sand is very very beautiful, they are places that tourists do not normally know, therefore they are beaches for relaxation, rest, good attention and excellent sunsets.

Hey guys. I have enjoyed every video you filmed from El Salvador, since I am from there and not been back ever since I came to the USA. You talked about a journey driving from Alaska to the tip is South America, but did not mentioned THE DARIEN GAP, where there is no path by land between Panama and Colombia, only by boat or plane. Not sure if there are ferry to transport vehicles.
Just my observation. Keep posting about Latin America 🙏❤️
We would ship our van from Panama to Colombia across the Darien gap :) and take a sailing boat from Panama to the San Blas islands ourselves, then from there to Colombia

Looks like this guys been living under a rock. By watching this video there is nothing to be blown away by. Beautiful palm trees well almost every country has them, wavy beach and dark sand. You guys must visit Roatan in Honduras, or San Blass in Panama, those are some amazing beaches.
That’s your opinion buddy the Atlantic coast is beautiful but you can’t beat the beautiful scenery and sunsets of the Pacific Ocean 🌊 stop hating .
If you go again to ES try Los Cobanos beach. It has no touristy feel at all. Just all local . And the beach is amazing.
You guys are missing out! The curtido is a must with the pupusas, and don't worry about not being refrigerated it is perfectly safe because is pickled in vinegar.

The salad for the pupusas doesn’t need refrigerated, could be out for few days and nothing happen because is seasoning with vinager.
