    ►YesterSol's current lore:
In the age when our world was but a canvas painted by the sun, Sol, the benevolent star in the sky, bestowed upon us a gift - shards of its essence. From these celestial fragments sprouted the colossal Titan Emberwood trees, their towering forms casting shadows that danced with the promise of boundless energy. The Solseeds, born from the boughs of these ancient giants, became the lifeblood of our society, fueling the wondrous steam technology that spanned our lands.
Among the shards, The YesterSol was the first, a radiant jewel imbued with the brilliance of a thousand suns. It held not only the power of heat but also the ancient magic that once defined our world. As time wove its tapestry, The YesterSol was lost to the annals of history, leaving only whispers of its brilliance. Now, as darkness encroaches in the form of Culex and his corrupted Luna moon magic, the quest to unearth The YesterSol becomes paramount. For in its light lies the hope to combat the shadows that threaten to consume our once-vibrant world. The journey begins, a solitary odyssey to reclaim The YesterSol and unlock the secrets that may yet save us all.
►About Me: Hello there! I'm an American who has spent more than a decade teaching English in Korea (and never leaving, hehe). During the pandemic, I stumbled upon the fascinating world of game development, and it swiftly evolved into my greatest passion. Exploring various game concepts, from farming sims to 3D Zelda-like adventures, I eventually discovered that crafting a Metroidvania is where my heart and skills match perfectly. For the past year, I've been immersed in the creation of YesterSol, pouring my creativity and dedication into this evolving project.

► I was inspired to make devlogs and games from these awesome TH-camrs: Thomas Brush, Blackthornprod, Jonas Tyroller, Brackeys, gamesplusjames, BenBonk, Devduck, Dani, Gamedev Underground, Pontypants, and many more!
► Speccs and Programs: I make games in Unity and do the art in Photoshop. Most of my sounds are from freesound.org and I tweak them in Audacity. In game music is all from a 500 song music pack I got on the unity asset store. I use a pretty standard desktop with and i7, 16gb ram, nividia gtx something. I edit my devlogs in the free version of Davinci.

Love the beaver mascot, and I'm glad the festival went well and I'm super happy to see the game was popular. Totally deserved it ^u^

Hey thanks for sharing your experience at this festival! Will you share if you thought it was a good roi from a wishlists perspective? Yestersol looks so polished, huge congrats on all your hard work.

Thanks for watching! I heard wishlists are never good at in-person festivals (online festivals are much better). However, last I checked I got over 120 wishlists from the festival. More than double what other teams got hehe.

Awesome, Neat! And about "not wanting to edit" too much, it's not needed. Most importantly, it's fun to release videos. If it's not fun, it's harder to release them, so keep up and make the videos you want to make. There is always an audience that will like what you are doing.
And the festival looks awesome! One day, I'm going to try to go to a game festival and look around . The gameplay looks really smooth!

Thanks! It is easier not making a script and going off bullet points for me. I'm so bad at reading from a script and have to do a lot of takes haha :D

I really like taking slow and not to impress anyone but just talk heart to heart. Good job with the game. And I wish you good luck

Thanks for watching :D I'm bad at reading from a script (I sound like a robot hah) so I just used bullet points.

Thanks for leaving a comment on my first video neat games. Its pretty cool how far youve gone with your game. Any tips on how you battle roadblock and burnout?

No problem! For me I like making a checklist in Milanote, and then I work on small things during the week and big things on the weekends (since I have a full time job). It is satisfying checking things off, gotta enjoy the small victories :D

Great work so far!! Very exciting!! Not sure if you have plans for music, but I am a composer working mostly in short films and video games. I would love to collaborate with you on this project if you are interested. Best of luck, and I look forward to seeing more!

I considered it, but trying to keep it simple so there are less bugs haha. I quit my first big project cuz their were so many bugs that I could never fix.
