I never expected a platinum bolt to be hidden in a secret spot on the race track. I stumbled upon the health upgrade on Joba’s hoverbike race without a guide but I never expected a platinum bolt. Thanks for the guide
2:09.3 it took a few tries but on challenge #3 lap 1 do the original track then lap 2 & 3 do the side track, to beat that time for the skill point hit every speed boost & you'll get the skill award.

I've tried quite a few times and still can't nail the cave shortcut and the boost on the ground at the same time. I'll try again later, but you said this is easier than the Speedy trophie in RnC1, but imo O found the other one to be really simple and took maybe 3 tries
The hoverbike races on planet Barlow are all screwed up for me. For some reason there are always two eighth places in the standings, but no ninth place. I've been searching for it on forums, but I only found one other person who encountered this strange programming error. Has anybody else here encountered this, or anything even similar? By the way, I'm playing the Greatest Hits edition on PS2.

If you look at 1:41 you will see that he chooses Challenge 3 , that's the one that you choose to get that little shortcut area.
I missed a few of the turbo pick ups and still got a 2.07 its definitely the challenge to do

Instead of taking the shortcut on the right, take the small one to the left. I got 1:39.7 on my first try.

barlow only has one skill point. check the skill points in the specials part of the menu. you'll notice it

Speed demon is easy to get, there's a different shortcut on the left (instead of the right). Can get under 2 mins easy.
Last skill point before platinum.

Once you unlock the shortcut it's pretty easy.

make the race time much easier with a QUICK START. hold R1 and X as soon as the race starts then use short cut

the short cut is blocked off by a big ass red rock !!

just dont crash and dont miss any boosts and you will make it
