    31yo woman here to say it’s not just blokes that never grow up! Have been thinking about getting an air pistol for a while and having always loved older revolvers, this is almost certainly going to be the first one I get!
    I just wish I had one of these back in my teens, so I could have set up some targets/balloons and done some mounted shooting on the back of my pony! I’d done a lot of western training and competing with her, along with frequently herding escaped bullocks back to their fields, so I had the pony, the Stetson/outfit (have to look the part at western horse shows) and plenty of practice as a cowgirl, even down to being pretty good at roping and cracking bullwhips…..so only thing I was missing was a revolver lol!

      @@MichaelGreenReviews I always kinda chuckle when a guy in the UK (etc.) comments about the Colt 45 being the gun that won the West. So for a bloke in Great Britain the West to them could be New York or Cape Cod or even Bangor, Maine...as opposed to Tombstone, Arizona or the OK Corral. Hmmm. I live in Oregon City (literally right smack dab at the end of “the Oregon Trail”) so anything West of me is pretty much in the Pacific Ocean! Everything is relative, right? By the way, on a family vacation a few years ago I remember stopping and getting out along side of the road and standing in the still obvious ruts made by the covered wagons...and looking out toward the West and seeing those wagon tracks on the Oregon Trail sweep down and out into the Willamette Valley. Pretty amazing.

      Why wouldn’t British people know and be interested in the Old West ? It’s like assuming that Americans aren’t interested in The Romans, The Vikings or any of the other peoples who invaded and occupied Britain. I live near Plymouth where the Pilgrim fathers left from. I was raised on westerns as a kid and oddly we were taught about early American history at school. And yes…. Red Dead Redemption is one of my all time favourites 😂

      if you push forward the hammer with a co2 cartridge in it you will push the valve open and probably damage the valve. or the seals.

    • @tonycamplin8607
      @tonycamplin8607 ปีที่แล้ว

      According to Umarex this isn't the case and you mustn't do it. That's why the two "bullets" are different coloured.

  • @darylnahorny7929
    @darylnahorny7929 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Awesome video. Very informative and entertaing. The Umarex bb version can safely fire pellets and accurracy with pellets at bar with the rifled barrel pellet only . Pellets can be used in the brass bb cartridges with pellets you can also buy the silver pellet cartridges if you prefer the are identical to the brass cartridges.the only differrnce is pellets have sugger fit in brass cartridge similarly bb workd in silver cartridge with slightly loser but secure fit in cartridge.
    The umarex peacemaker Actually has 4 stages (4 clicks) but one of the safty features Umarex incorporsted was when hammer is down it sits on first stage rather then on co2 release valve.
    If or press your trigger slowly move hammer forward till you feel it touch your co2 release valve hold hammer there release the trigger.
    Cock the hammer count the clicks 1 2 3 4
    Like the Real Colt SAA powder burner...click 1 the Safety stage sets trigger gun can not fire.
    Click 2 the Half Cock position, this releases the cylender locking bar allowing the cylender to rotate by hand enabling load and unload.
    Click 3 is the cylinder locking bar resetting itself.
    Click 4 cylinder sound of trigger setting itself in fire possition and cylinder locking in fire possition simultaneously
    The Umarex Colt SAA all have the 4 stage but with the Umarex it is designed thst the hammer sits at stage 1 ( click 1) the safety stsge to protect the co2 release valve.
    Also Note the 4 clicks is Not to spell out C O L T if it was then explain why the 1875 Remington and other single action revolvers from 1873 forward have 4 clicks.
    Also Note the Original Colt SAA was carried with 6 rounds safely. As was the practice with Colt precussion cap revolvers they lowered the hammer between caps preventing accidental discharge.
    The hammer if the 1873 Colt SAA was lowered so fireing pin rested between cartridges preventing accidental discharge this info from Colt also from my great grand fathers diary also personal experiance with my Original Powder Burners 1849 Colt 1851 Colt 1862 Colt 1873 Colt 1858 Remington 1875 Remington and msny more in my collection.

    I like this pistol but I really wish they would bring out a Peacemaker version. This version has a barrel that is about an inch too long which makes it unbalanced and unsuitable for quick draw. They do a four inch version which is quite good for quick draw but it has a slotted barrel and no foresight which never existed in history. Quick draw or fast draw is a good sport and you can get quite skillful at hitting the target without aiming.

Plus, I wanted this model since it has the rifled barrel. I think all the other models are smooth bore...designed for BB’s. So this one will theoretically be much more accurate.

    On the pellet version is the barrel RIFLED? How about the bb version? Mike

    • @MichaelGreenReviews
      @MichaelGreenReviews  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi.....Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.......This is a tricky one ....The BB version is definitely a smooth bore....On my pellet one the back of the box says smooth bore, but if i look down the barrel it does look rifled......I know the bb version has had problems with barrel warping when using steel bb's (due to its thin walls). Mine has a much thicker barrel, has now shot a couple of thousand pellets, and is still fine. Accuracy suggests it is rifled. I have had 1" groups at 8 meters (freehand). Without taking the pistol to bits to remove the barrel i cannot be 100% certain but it does look and shoot as if it is.....Hope this has been some help?......Thanks again for watching....ATB...Mick

    • @MichaelGreenReviews
      @MichaelGreenReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi...Thanks for watching....thats a tricky one...like all co2 guns people have their own ideas about this. I personally dont store the gun with co2 inside. I use most of the cartridge up while using the gun and any co2 left at the end of the session i just release. The co2 rests against a rubber type seal, and if left in place, im sure the seal would become deformed and no longer function. The co2 cartridges are not that expensive so i dont take the risk of leaving a quarter filled one in the gun....ATB....Mick

      Hi..im sorry, im not sure what you could get in India..in the UK anything over 12 ft lbs (about 16 joules) for a rifle requires a firearms license and pistols are limited to half of that (6ft lb or about 8 joules) we only have a couple of pistols that push around 5 ft lbs but they tend to be big single shot, spring powered pistols or pcp pistols, not replica type guns...this colt is a very nice gun but is only intended for some paper target or tin can plinking in your garden...ATB..Mick

      Hi....Thanks for watching and commenting......With the fake shells being hollow tubes, you can use any pellets with good results (pointed, flat or round nosed). I have tried all three and had decent results. But purely for the cost of back yard plinking, I use a cheap, round nosed, soft lead pellet made by Marksman. These are Cheap and Cheerful with good accuracy and being soft lead, are easy on the barrel (and pocket, when shooting thousands through my Co2 guns)....Many thanks again.....ATB.....Mick.

    Are these pellet revolvers appropriate for 11 year old boys that want to shoot at each other? Doesn’t seem like these guns are a good choice for that activity. Hi..Thanks for watching...certainly not. Although these are relatively low powered being pellet firers they are far to dangerous to shoot at someone.
