Peatling will be a good pick up for Adelaide if they can get that one done. He is a prettt unique type to run through the midfield. I often think people can confuse activity in trade period for progress but Adelaide fans would have to be happy with what is happening this year.
I think it's clear that Adelaide has the highest potential of Talent with the most underperforming players and team overall. We saw in 2023 and parts of 2024 they can compete and smash the best of teams but just flop half the time. I really hoped for better last year but it was a big disappointment vs what they can do and probably be competitive for the flag. And just to be clear. This is a Can, not a Will argument.
On the Houston situation, seems like Collingwood are looking to acquire and trade pick 13, 23 and Richards for Houston. As a pies fan, not necessarily keen on it but that’s how I’ve seen it reported.
As Essendon fan, if GWS interested in Shiel and Stringer a good deal could be: GWS: Shiel Stringer pick 31 Essendon: pick 21 and pick 52 or 55. Dons could angle for 21 & 37 if they are willing to throw in future pick and/or pay Shiel/Stringer salary. Essendon need to make the most of pick 31.
I get the feeling North is firmly second to Collingwood in the race, I might be overreading it but Rawlings comments yesterday vs Leppitsch's on Houston yesterday, made it seem like he's far more likely to end up at collingwood
Personally think pick 28 is a bit too much for ANB, in a normal draft them this is fine but in a draft that's so deep, pick 28 is more like a pick 18-22 in this draft. In saying that, I hope by bringing in ANB, Peatling and Cumming, it means we will be less reliant on players alike Smith, Sholl, Murphy, Crouch and Laird as we aren't going anywhere with these players and need to move past them
Pick 3 for Baker is pure delusion, if they do that Im not going to be happy. We only got (are getting ) 13 for Barras who is an All Australian and one of the premier backmen in the comp, Baker, decent player is not at that level. He is at best a second rounder. The guy is actually out of contract now, so I dont know why we would give up anything for him.
@@denisjeux1020 Mate, even 14 is way over for a 27 year old who is a bog standard midfielder. All he is going to do is add some depth to the midfield of Yeo , Kelly and Reid. Dont get me wrong, he is a decent player but not worth a top 15 pick. He is a high second rounder at best... I mean, he is literally out of contract now, so if we played hardball we get him for nothing after he goes into the pre season draft. They say the draft is stacked full of talent, we need to get TWO key defenders in the next two years, Barras is gone and the Guv cant last too much longer. The future of the club is at stake here and we cant waste a high pick on a guy we can get for nothing. The Kelly trade was a disaster, we passed on Harry Sheezel.. and took Ginbey (who is average) and some kid with a long term foot injury who hasnt played a single game. Cheers ; ]
