Port Adelaide getting a key fwd with their first pick has never made sense! Considering not only Lukosius, but also the fact they’re still rolling with Boak on the wing.
Hey mate love your efforts and consistency with your content! It’s great. Saints fan, I would honestly be so upset if we took two defenders, even if Travalgia becomes a mid in the future I think we desperately need a pure mid. Tauru would be great as a second pick after a mid. Who knows. I’d love to take any of the slider Mids from the top bunch with our first pick, then potentially Tauru, Bo Allen, or maybe Travaglia after that.
If Cal is right, and the saint get tobie and tauru, then big watch on us trading our future first back in for Reid, Hynes. I expect we still take an actual midfielder should we only get those two with 7 & 8
Love how consistently you post 🫡 I still think north are bluffing a bit about not wanting to trade pick 2. I suspect that since Richmond still hasn’t shown their hand with pick one - they are hoping lalor slides. I think once Richmond take lalor we’ll see a live trade for Adelaide’s picks 4 and something similar to those two third rounders we saw them offer. North are in desperate need for tauru, he’s keen on them and looks a perfect fit. Surely they’re bluffing about wanting to not trade pick 2
Absolutely Hotton is the best option for WC. If he’s a top 5 talent the ACL shouldn’t be a factor at all. An ACL is nothing at that age. We’re not competing for finals next year anyway. He can play half a dozen games in July/August and be set up for 2026.
Fantastic analysis as usual, crazy how close Cal n Fox are in their predictions, will be interesting to see how it pans out. Would be nice to see how accurate they both are. Would be very nice to have Taj and Ollie 💙💛🦅🏆
The intel Essendon had on Kako was actually Melbourne and Saints would bid to force out pick 9 from Bombers. Essendon now trading that selection meant the desire from both was now removed. Hence it will be now around 10-13 bid. So Essendon still made the right call in trading
Dawson, Curtin and Edwards are more outside midfielders than an inside ball winner of Langford's talent, while Dowling hasn't been outstanding at the later. Speed should be the priority - no way would I pick Langford ahead of Draper or FOS on ability, but if they were taken Langford would make some sense as an inside replacement for Laird and Crouch, as would Smith.
@@bluecedar7914don’t see the point of making your extractor someone who is 190cm+. With Berry, Taylor etc. as inside ball winning mids there is no need for Langford. Plus Edwards, Rankine and Pedlar can all play inside too. Draper makes the most sense.
@@rustedpig97If he can do the job as he did with Vic Country, why not? Berry is a poor ball winner and has much poorer disposal than Langford, more a defensive midfielder than a ball winner. Taylor is a fringe player who may or may not develop the engine and consistency to be a part of Adelaide's future midfield. Neither look like becoming primary ball winners. Pedlar doesn't have the engine atm, again he may develop into a full match inside midfielder, he may not. Hopefully Dowling might improve his ball winning consistency, but none of these guys look like replacing Laird or Crouch atm. Curtin, Rankine and Edwards look more outside than inside players. Adelaide needs more quality burst speed but also more quality ball winners in the list atm. Langford as well as Smith have serious potential in the latter role. I agree, Draper is the standout match for Adelaide's list.
Richmond will most likely use all 8 picks unless they get a crazy offer for pick 24. Richmond has 10 spots to fill on the primary list, and this draft runs deep, so it will be unlikely to trade out of this draft. Cal Twomey now believes that Richmond will take Bo Allen or Tobie Travaglia at 6 as they think they can get Smillie at 10. Either way, it's going to be an interesting draft for Richmond supporters, and hoping we can add to the dynasty 🐅🏆🐅🏆🐅🏆🙏🙏🙏
I believe Richmond will make a play for pick 2. It will be pick 2 for 6 and swooping over next years 1st rounders. And Richmond will take Smith and Lalor at 1 and 2.
The fact that Twomey has two defenders going to St.kilda for their two top ten selections is daft considering that both their NGA's are defenders as well. Reckon he's lost the plot this year. The Saints traded for an old mid who won't be part of their future and another mid who spent half the year as being a sub or being subbed in a side with mega injuries. Their midfield needs shoring up, not their backline.
Slim pickings after every other club has picked the eyes out of the midfielders before pick 7 . Bo Allan , Murphy Reid , Travaglia and Lindsay is probably the choices .
@@TrueFootyAFL No doubt he'd be a great player. But I don't see how or even why the Saints would try to squeeze him into solid half back line, when the likes of Bo Allen would likely be available.

North are way too midfield heavy already, and makes zero sense they’d draft another. For mine, they trade 2 for 6 and 18/20 with Richmond. They can take Tauru at 6, landing the player they’re after, whilst landing another Round 1 selection, whilst Richmond can secure Lalor and O’Sullivan. Win-Win, in my opinion.
I agree with you. Ask the clubs and they can't seem to find a common ground but. Think 2 for 6 and one of those later R1 picks is fair, probably involve some future picks swapping hands also
You won't get Tauru at 6 my boy, only EVERY mock has Melbourne taking him at 5 if Langfords gone - which he will be if you trade 2 to someone who takes a mid.
@@david.s121 Tauru will not be selected ahead of O’Sullivan, Draper, Smith or Langford. Ashcroft will be bid on before Melbourne’s first selection, too, so Tauru will definitely be available at Pick 6 (made Pick 7) if North traded for Richmond’s 6.
Even if Kako isn’t bid on until pick 13, I don’t think you can assume that’s how it would have played out had Essendon kept pick 9. The motivation for teams to bid is reduced now. Essendon will 100% match and they won’t be paying with a high pick. Had they kept pick 9 then there would have been a big incentive for the saints to call his name
Essendon had to trade pick 9 because of Stkilda and Melbourne were going to bid on him before pick 9 but now they traded it out the bid will come later so Essendon doesn't get an early pick pay back for being a difficult club to deal with for the last 15-20 years
I can not see Blues not going Draper at pick 3. Jagga, while good, is too much the same as what they already have. They are looking at a point of difference which is either FOS, Draper or Lalor.
The bombers made the right decision to trade out pick nine because the chances were st kilda would bid on the picks immediately before the bombers pick. SOS is still pissed that we bid on his kid back in 2016
I would have thought Port , with their first pick, would look for speed and class with a linking player…….. Travaglia, Reid, Lindsay ??? A lot depends on how confident they are in keeping Ollie Lord, if they are worried he is going in 2026, like all the rumours suggest, then they really need to prioritise a big key forward. They have a few holes remember, once Willie Rioli is gone they need a quality small forward, Ala Joe Berry.
