Heskey did a lot for the team and the way we played. I think most of the frustration that came his way was because we wanted to play a different way so therefore a diff striker. I never bought into it Heskey always did a job for England and enabled others to score.

Heskey had all the attributes to be one of the best strikers in the world. But he was a confidence player & couldn't get out of his own head. One game he was unplayable & the next game he couldn't hit a barn door. Great partnership with Owen, but 1 goal in 4 games ratio wasn't good enough for Liverpool. But he will always be remembered fondly by Liverpool fans. Similar to Crouchie actually.
I’ve always thought this, it always seemed like him being a nice guy held him back somewhat. If he had more aggression and confidence he would have been phenomenal.
he had a brilliant first season but then Houllier started sticking him on the wing for some reason (Houllier had a massive blind spot when it came to wide players from what I recall) so cant have helped plus he created a lot of goal chances with his flick ons and hold up play, its about the team not the individual and he was an unselfish player
Summary of the show: "So was ________ difficult?" "Nah it was all pretty easy" "How did you feel about ______, did it affect you?" "Nah actually I felt pretty good" 😂 This was actually really informative, turns out these guys are pretty good when they actually focus on the interview
emile got so much gyp when he actually played. constantly cussed out for being a donkey, shit finisher etc. it’s funny how much discourse changes with time. he comes across as a top bloke
Me and my mates still to this day shout "Heskey" Whenever anybody misses an absolute golden opportunity to score. Man couldn't hit a barn door most of the time but you could never doubt his commitment to never improving his game.
This show and the overlap just continuously prove how much the media negatively affects fan opinions. What a fuckin bloke Emile is, and it seems to be the same for every other guest... including fucking warnock!!

What a lovely bloke.
Loved Heskey and that dj celebration 🔥
Super underrated player. Nobody gets to 100+ PL Goals without being a top-class player!
Crouchy?
It's about a 1 in 5 record with the amount of appearances. That's pretty woeful.

Under rated baller. Put him in todays man city team, easy 40 goals
Shut up, he was shit
Good grief, he was bang average compared who was about at the time. Some of the stick he got was over the top.
Bang average is harsh I'll take that back as he played at the highest level. But he weren't the most clinical at that level.
