I’ve been playing for decades. I’ve only found this. Thank you!

This is a bit confusing though. You dont charge your DAS by hitting a wall. When next piece falls it will reset like nothing happened. You charge your DAS by hitting a wall and pushing it until the next piece comes. While its not practical, it gives you how DAS tehnique works. But its important to clarify this. Video seems like just pushing into wall your DAS is full (technically it is, but when next piece comes, it resets, unless youre pushing all the time or before it hits the ground)

if you push down when the piece is in place before locking is it charging?

I have a question. Let's say I am just holding right on the d-pad. If I hold right (and never tap right again) and run into the wall, does that fully charge the das? Or do you have to tap right into the wall to get the charge?

RedshirtTheory you must be holding to the right while switching pieces to get the das

lol So you have basically a millisecond to try and charge your DAS once the game gets really rolling? Maybe 10 years ago this would have been possible but my reflexes suck anymore so looks like 19 will still be my kill screen.

So doing a wall charge is like pushing a spring against a wall to give you faster movement

What's the point of keeping the charge if it resets once you press left or right again?

I believe you press either left or right depending on where you want to move the piece in the next box...so that charged DAS will help with that...when that piece is almost locked, do another wall DAS for the next to next piece...at least that is my understanding.

@@rajnadar6555 you have to start again pushing down the dpad once your current piece is locked but still before the next peace spawns in. Hope this helped.

if you press left or right in the time between a piece having finished falling and the next one appears it doesn’t reset

Never mentioned: "What is the point of charging DAS?" Guess I'll go find Part 1. :-)

    • @cfoples

if DAS is not charged, there is a 16 frame delay between the first shift and the second and subsequent shifts of the piece.

@@cfoples Ah, gotcha. I never quite knew what "Shift" meant, but that explains everything. Trying to adopt it into my playing technique, but so far, no luck in Level 18 and 19 starts.
