    This is a bit confusing though. You dont charge your DAS by hitting a wall. When next piece falls it will reset like nothing happened. You charge your DAS by hitting a wall and pushing it until the next piece comes. While its not practical, it gives you how DAS tehnique works. But its important to clarify this. Video seems like just pushing into wall your DAS is full (technically it is, but when next piece comes, it resets, unless youre pushing all the time or before it hits the ground)

    So if you could somehow get the charge to 15 consistently, would that save 5 frames on the first move by stopping keeping the charge close to where it will repeat? I just tap as fast as I can, have better luck with that at high levels, I figure that if I can tap ten times a second, assuming 60 frames a second, that I at least equal DAS without having to worry about charging or dropping it or skill drops, and it allows for some tucks that would be impossible with DAS if I can tap a bit faster, eg moving a piece twice before it locks rather than once up to a point. Actually seems easier assuming I can use whatever controller I want, or in an emulator, keyboard, also lets me correct an overshoot without limiting the range of my next move (if I have time).

  • @standepain
    @standepain 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    lol So you have basically a millisecond to try and charge your DAS once the game gets really rolling? Maybe 10 years ago this would have been possible but my reflexes suck anymore so looks like 19 will still be my kill screen.

    Does the duration of the entry delay change as you get to higher levels or is it 12 frames on every level?

    • @noahpickens
      @noahpickens 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It dosent change depending on the level but it does the height (aka higher heights give longer entry delays and lower, shorter)- in total 10-18 frames. "ARE is 10~18 frames depending on the height at which the piece locked; pieces that lock in the bottom two rows are followed by 10 frames of entry delay, and each group of 4 rows above that has an entry delay 2 frames longer than the last."

    • @rajnadar6555
      @rajnadar6555 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe you press either left or right depending on where you want to move the piece in the next box...so that charged DAS will help with that...when that piece is almost locked, do another wall DAS for the next to next piece...at least that is my understanding.

    Ok here’s a question if it’s a sixteenth of a frame before the first shift, how are you ment to ensure that the block will move in time to where u need it, considering in retrospect a sixteenth is a long time to wait given that on the later stages where DAS is crucial ur barely getting time to breath let alone move a block. Not only that there’s lack and dropped inputs to consider which could mess up the timing

    • @CesarCordova
      @CesarCordova 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You charge Das, so you don't have to wait 16 frames for every piece.

    • @jasonjellie9342
      @jasonjellie9342 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but that doesn’t really answer my question. Ok I’ll rephrase, if you have to charge DAS, surely there’s a chance of it failing to charge due to a. Game speed, which reduces time to charge DAS and the unfortunate rare issue of input drops since u need the inputs to charge DAS

    • @rajnadar6555
      @rajnadar6555 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jasonjellie9342 If you see the CTWC games, you will hear the commentators mention players losing DAS...it is very possible to lose the charge...you have to keep recharging it...not sure how exactly, I'm new to this and still learning...there is also Hypertapping if your fingers can tap quick enough.

  • @imoc
    @imoc 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great videos on explaining, but I kinda have an issue here, and I'm not sure if it's just a sound glitch, or actual DAS maintaining. Let's say i don't have DAS charged at all and I'm not going for a wall charge, so my DAS should not be charged -> the piece lands on a flat surface. If I hold left/right in the entry delay, I still have the feeling I can continue with a full DAS charge, at least the soundeffect seems like it. If I find the time at the end of the month, I'll make a video and link it here.

    • @drakei1880

      Dizzy Jajko nope you can’t charge das in the entry delay

    • @Xealous
      @Xealous 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      "DAS is charged" is defined as your das meter being between 10 and 16. If you tap and release before 10 frames, your counter is less than 10 and hence not charged. If you hold left/right in the entry delay, your counter is unaffected. If your DAS counter was 6 on the previous piece and you hold a direction during Entry Delay, the counter will still be 6.

    • @PretzelBS
      @PretzelBS 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’ll have to confirm or deny your suspicions by going frame by frame in an emulator. By the looks of it the das counter shouldn’t be charged
