Thank you so much. You gave me the courage to start tailoring. Just did my first two pairs of pants and they look great! You are THE MAN, and thanks for helping me get into this awesome hobby.
“I don’t love long intros” 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I stumbled onto your page this morning and I’ve watched a dozen videos back to back(if not more)!!!! Thank you for this page! I’ve been boxing for a year and all my old clothes don’t fit so I have been donating A LOT! Thank you for making this channel.
Thank you so much! I got me a machine this weekend to tackle my ill fitting trousers and thirts. Just finished my very first chinos and I'm so proud! I know I'm gonna feel so much more confident in well fitting clothes. It's always hard to find something in stores which is not too long. Thanks man!
Levi’s xx chino standard taper. They are the best fitting pair of pants I have ever bought. After I got my first pair I immediately started buying back ups I have about 15 pairs in total that I ordered some of them I haven’t even opened yet that’s how happy I have been with them
@@StylishDTailors Love ur content, I have a xl size ferrari woven shirt tht I got it as a gift, Id love to wear it. Could u make a video on how to reduce the sides to make it a medium ?
One really good tip I learned from my family friend is to make a seam guide with a ln aluminum can. She cuts it up and Sanded the edges so it's not so sharp and would make 2 of them and bent to work with watever size hem. Was a total life saver for doing the tuck under kinda deal!
You've inspired me to do something I've never thought. Bought an ugly button up shirt on clearance in Target and did my first tailor today. Super excited! Came out okay but that's fine it's practice. Keep it up dude! :D
Love the videos! My first sewing machine should arrive soon and I'm excited. One of the things I'd love to see is a video about how to get the seat of pants to fit better. I'm a pretty active guy and have weight trained for 20+ years so to get the legs to fit the way I need the waist/seat is often too big. How do I fix that?
I'm not SD, but I would taper first, since that seam is on the inside, then shorten them, since that seam will be more visible, so you want to be able to do that part nicely without changing that hem with the tapering.
this is a great channel now that im beginning to tailor my own clothes *QUESTION* i have a pair of pants with stripes down the sides of them. The stitching is on the stripes. These pants are baggy in my legs so I was going to tailor them myself but I dont want to lose the stripes. Any suggestions on where i can lay the new stitchwork ? im assuming not because the original stitching is *right on* the stripes which run all the way down the leg vertically. thanks
Question: I had my docker pants hemmed, length. It's very noticeable when wearing it. Is it normal to have creases or unevenness at the end? Thank you for any suggestions.
Hey, I'd appreciate if you made a video on reinforcing vital areas in jeans. My thighs rub together creating holes in the crotch area, other than that the jeans are completely fine, I want to learn how to reinforce them to expand there lifespan. Thanks :)
Hey, SD. When shortening the sleeves on a short sleeve shirt, and maybe making the sleeves tighter as well, I got puckering on the sleeve hem. What did I do wrong, and how do I avoid this? Also, please do a quick video on how to use a seam ripper the magic way, where it just pulls out the back thread.
Hey man, the sewing machine in the Amazon link..is this the one you use? And if not..can you recommend a good one..you've Inspired me to start altering my pants ...please respond 🙏🙏
A question: if the cuffs of my chinos have become frayed over time, is there any way to fix this--maybe to turn them under slightly? The present length is good, so I can't hem them shorter, but the frayed ends look terrible. Can they be saved or is time to pry open my wallet for new pants?
So I'm wanting to get into Dry cleaning, Tailoring, Seamster, and into leather making in design hats. Would I need to go into college if I want to make this a career? If so what education path do yall recommend?
Question: Do you know of any DIY tutorial things which might help me add a wider space to the ironing board? I ca'tn do some of the things you use a larger flat space for currently. Background: I've been watching a good few of your videos but I have yet to make any alterations. Today I was going to do a Tshirt because I could mess up with that and not care as much. I watched your video on how to make seems for Tshirts but realized I don't really have the flat space required in my small living arrangement to pull the shirt out and find the second seam (my ironing board is no where near wide enough and that's basically all I have).
Hey, man, I need your help! And I think this video will have a lot of views as well. Please, make a tutorial how to ajust the crotch area. How to solve the problem of baggy crotch in jeans. Please, help us all. Thank you for your time and your work, you helped me a lot. God bless you!
I’m in the UK and what frustrates me is the inconsistency of the clothes I buy lately. If I find a pair of chinos that I like, I tend to buy a few pairs, maybe some in a different colour, due to the fear of them being discontinued, something which has caught me out in the past. However, in the last couple of years and on numerous occasions I’ll do this and the fit varies drastically from pair to pair. Does anyone else find this?
At least you admitted it, so where have you been D, I know you have a life outside of here but I've been through snizz and now you show up l m b o wait I don't have a keyster it's flat at least I didn't laugh it off insert eye-roll, I am no longer among the entitled bunch but they took the ben's saying I owed a lot okay by me shhh they're going to get some freebies they will not like them for some reason, as a "Karen " said and it's recorded I deserve every hand out I get. too bad they'd dried up not long after it said it.
I like your videos. They really motivate to start tailor your own clothes. But … one question … why are your videos so heavily overexposed? It really doesn't look good. If you worry about the dark parts, then just lower the contrast, bring the shadows up and leave the highlights natural.

As a big guy, I second this, loovvve these chinos
For a 1" reduction would have opened the original hem and cut or would just leave it and fold over?
I would open the hem as it would be easier to work with.
@@Sydhxyfhdrvtgsh They are great if only they held the color a little bit better but the cut in the softness of the material is perfect

Welcome back SD! I had a question. If you needed to shorten AND taper the pants what order would you do that in?

Yes you can! You could always just make a new stitch on the inside even though there isn't one currently!
@@StylishDTailors yes! I was thinking that thanks
Question: I had my docker pants hemmed, length. It's very noticeable when wearing it. Is it normal to have creases or unevenness at the end? Thank you for any suggestions.
It's not normal no, you want to make sure your stitch is straight as well as your fabric is even. Irons and starch will be your friends for that!

Tightening the sleeves can definitely be key, do you still need help?
Yeah, I'm still not sure what I did wrong, or how to avoid puckering on short sleeves.

You COULD turn them in slightly yes, you would lose a bit of length obviously but it's doable.

I would hem them first then taper personally.

You mean side adjusters on the waist to make the pants tighter right?
