The taste is like the butt, divided. I personally find Judy to be a very beautiful woman in the sence of that it comes from within and out. And Her singing. Woow. We all know what happened with Garland and Lawford later. That system (Hollywood) did create great things while destroying Human Beeings.
It's a matter of taste, but I don't think it has to be one or the other. She is pretty, but not abundantly so. I think it's a misrepresentation to refer to her as being unattractive. Her looks aren't a dealbreaker or a dealmaker.
The genius of Irving Berlin Music written for this 1948 movie, Easter Parade. Glad you have this posted to evoke those happy preteen childhood memories.
Years later on "MIke Douglas," she said that the red dye from the hat feather bled from the rain and ran down her face, necessitating retakes. True or not, Judy 💕 liked to embellish to make a good story.
I always felt sorry for Johnny. He tries his best to support his friends-- kind of letting the conflicting relationships between Don, Hannah, and Nadine work itself out and not wanting to ruin it for anybody. Even though Johnny has stronger feelings for Hannah over Nadine, he is not about to spoil his friendship with Don or Hannah's love for Don.
Peter Lawford narrated a segment of the MGM musical documentary That's Entertainment. He admits to obviously not being as skilled as Astaire or Kelly but that he was a part of the MGM studio system and didn't have much say in the films he was placed in--including the occasional musical. That's Entertainment highlighted Lawford in the college musical film Good News with June Allyson.
Did you know this film was originally intended to be a vehicle to reteam Garland with Gene Kelly? After Kelly broke his ankle early in the rehearsals, producer Arthur Freed had to scramble to find a replacement - Fred Astaire. Personally, I’ve never been a fan of the idea that Garland is romantic with such an older man. It was almost as satisfying to have them walk off into the sunset, Liza in hand… thoughts?
The love triangle in this movie makes no sense to me. You expect me to believe she went with the crank twice her age when Peter Lawford is right there?
Judy garland is amazing in this. So warm, full of emotion and funny. How she was considered 'ugly' is beyond me.
she was gorgeous, kind of a girl next door look - which is far better than model good looks

There is no such thing as perfection but Judy Garland came pretty dam close to it!
Ugh he was so cute and that accent too!! 😍❤️

This is such a throwaway little song, and Peter's voice is so thin, yet when Judy covers it in her rich voice, the song becomes beautiful.
Beautiful song! 💝
Professor is so charming and loving, and doesn’t get anything

Judy explains this scene in a Mike Douglas Show interview, with Peter Lawford as guest. 1968
Unfortunately he had to settle for Plan "B"....."Nadine, get out all the hounds. We're going for a walk."

@@suebob16 - Exactly. Well said.
Love this song sometimes I wonder why judy didn't chose Peter instead of frank
power, some women are attracted to it. Frank had it, Peter not
Fred!
Agreed. I always loved him and he was the one man who truly cared about Dorothy Dandridge and treated her with respect and love ❤️
@@TrangPakbaby he treated her with respect but from what her best friend claimed he clearly cared about but wasn’t in love with her unfortunately!

He doesn't sing at all.. But the song is so nice and singable. One of my standards songs when I'm having a shower.. 💦💦💦

creepy, Peter Lawford? who can't sing, dance or act?? yeah, I expect you to believe it
👩❤️👨☔️
Singing obviously wasn’t Peter Lawford’s ace card
he acquitted himself quite nicely
He doesnt sound bad here
no, dimples were
@@aliali-ce3yfhe got out on probation, but no one is every acquitted for a crime that horrendous!!
Peter Lawford sure cannot sing ... which reminds me, he can't act, either. What's he doing in an MGM musical???
