Orlando is a bona-fide classic. But yeah same here. Love Tilda. She lives in Nairn these days. Somewhere I have visited many times over the years due to my own Scottish heritage.
She haunted me half my youth. She was the creepy lady in the videoclip of Orbital with their track The Box. She had something alien like in that video. (And yes. That is her!)
Peter Sellars became so absorbed into characters that he portrayed, that he admitted to John Cleese that he didn’t know who he was anymore. I am surprised that he wasn’t on the list.
Before watching, let me guess: Crispin Glover, Jeff Goldblum, Christopher Walken, Willem Dafoe, Nicolas Cage, Joaquin Phoenix (Andy Kaufman too if he counts as an actor)
Peter Sellers. From at least the early to mid 70's until his death in 1980, he was, according to several people who worked with him including Blake Edwards, almost insane.
One thing I remember Nicolas Cage for is the 2006 remake of The Wicker Man, if only for the bee cage and human sacrifice sequences. The movie may have been bad, but his eccentricism was a good part.
I watched National Treasure recently, and I love that part where he pretends to be in an argument with the girl as a distraction. Because he was relatively subdued in those movies, compared to his norm. You know he was thinking "YAAAAAAA!!!! I FINALLY GET TO GO CRAZY! CAGE RAGE, WOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!"🤣
Klaus Kinski is absolutely the right choice for number one. On the set of Fitzcarraldo, the indiginous tribe of extras famously approached Werner Herzog and offered to kill Kinski for him. Herzog declined, but his reasoning wasn't anything about not condoning of Kinski being murdered, but simply that he needed Kinski to finish the film. On that note, if there were a list of most eccentric directors of all time, Herzog should be tops also. He once got shot in the stomach during a live interview (they were filming outdoors), and treated it like it was the most ordinary thing in the world. It's surreal.
Tommy wiso is the biggest failure that somehow became a success through something beyond incompetence. It makes me sick that people who are awful get rewarded, it annoys me almost as much as that “ catch me outside “ girl becoming a millionaire because she acted like a hood rat on TV. Bad behavior gets rewarded way too often in this world
I call it the American Idol Effect. There were contestants on the early days of the show that were so terrible they got famous. A few of them even got record deals. I'm not sure who the hell actually bought their albums, but they exist.
There was a show for a brief time called "I'm With Busey", it was about this dorky kid that was a superfan of Gary Busey, so he got to hang out with him and learn life lessons. It was hilarious because Busey is absolutely insane, and would just tell the kid all this complete nonsense, and he ate it all up like it was sage advice.
Two other actors worth mentioning are Woody Harrelson and Shia LaBeouf. Both have been known for their eccentric bahaviors. Kind of surprised neither one was on this list.
Marlon Brando was also a real troll. When filming the Godfather he hid extra weights in his bed when they had to carry him up the stairs as it did not look really convincing they had to carry him.
Hey there! I totally agree, the eccentricity of these actors is what makes them unforgettable! I love how each one has their own unique flair. Who's your favorite from the list? Let's hear your thoughts!
I know bits about Tommy Wisseau, I know Tilda Swinton just as an actress, Andy Kaufman bits, Crispin Glover I certainly knew about his reputation, Orson Welles I only knew some things, Nicolas Cage I guessed, Gary Busey and Marlon Brando I knew of too of their rep.
Having been gifted the premiere of this movie, and not being a Dylyn fan, I found this movie refreshing. It took me back to a time when music was king and people were always friendly and honest. I discovered that many of Dylan's songs had touched my life. It was a great experience.
Eccentricity or what could be called branding oneself knowingly or not if it serves one well why not. People sometimes or often act a certain way to get attention or to create an effect and if it works to their amusement or pleasure, control will repeat it or even incorporate it into their persona. I know I have and most do to one degree or another. Most of us know or have known someone in our life school, work, friend, family etc...who displays Eccentric behavior. some good some bad.
@JJ.-BB you need your taken away because all you do is harass others and send threats to people as well. Not only that you are obsessed with lava as well.
@AndyHouse-v1m you literally are triggered because you harass others all day with false claims. Not only that you deleting your post shows how you can't even handle the truth about your lying and bullying.

@@WatchMojo Christopher Walken (who didn't get a mention).
I love Tilda Swinton. Her films are always fascinating, and her acting is great.
Orlando is a bona-fide classic. But yeah same here. Love Tilda. She lives in Nairn these days. Somewhere I have visited many times over the years due to my own Scottish heritage.

"Anyway, how's your sex life?" 😂😂😂
I believe these actors quirky behaviors is what makes their performances on the next level.
Peter Sellars became so absorbed into characters that he portrayed, that he admitted to John Cleese that he didn’t know who he was anymore. I am surprised that he wasn’t on the list.
Of course Klaus Kinski is on here 😅
I'm glad he's on top of the list.
Eccentric? Psychotic I think describes him far better. Read what his daughters have to say about him, he seems like a real joy to be around...
Before watching, let me guess:
Crispin Glover, Jeff Goldblum, Christopher Walken, Willem Dafoe, Nicolas Cage, Joaquin Phoenix
(Andy Kaufman too if he counts as an actor)
Update: DAMN, how could I forget about Gary Busey??
Crispin Glover 😍
Peter Sellers. From at least the early to mid 70's until his death in 1980, he was, according to several people who worked with him including Blake Edwards, almost insane.

There's a TH-cam clip "How to make a Nicolas Cage movie." One of the things they mentioned was "Have a scene where his eyes bug out!"
Most of the movies that he acts in are average but he makes them worth watching.
10) 0:21 Tommy wiseau
9) 1:23 Tilda swinton
8) 2:15 Andy Kafuman
7) 3:25 joan crawford
6) 4:47 Crisping glover
5) 5:58 Orson Welles
4) 7:13 Nicholas Cage
3) 8:25 Gary busfy
2) 9:36 marlon brando
1) 10:56 Klaus Kinski
Thanks for this
you're a legend !
Kafuman?
Crisping?
Busfy?
Brando should be in prison.
Thank you
I'd watch Nic Cage anytime. 🎉
I thought we’d see Joaquin Phoenix, Jeff Goldblum, and maybe Johnny Depp on this list.
Poor Johnny probably needs a post amber break
And Elizabeth Taylor
The first two, sure.
Depp isn’t quirky, he’s just an obnoxious and unwashed drunk.
@@TF-vb9us sounds like I've missed some more current guest appearances
@@TF-vb9usnailed it. Beyond gross hygiene
Crispin Glover is one of the top reasons I love Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter.
He had a good role in THE RIVER'S EDGE! (Watch for Keanu Reeves too.)
Where's the corkscrew?
Don't forget the messed up line from Rob in the basement 'He's killing me!' 😂 Well obviously!😅
@ An example of the "illustrated radio" cliche...

Ed Wood would surely be number 1.
Good list 👏 thanks WatchMojo
I completely tune out when an actor goes meta.
Crispin Glover is the most underrated actor ever
Read that Universal didn't want to pay him to come back to the Back to the Future sequels. It have turned out different. Such a shame.
@ he’s a strange but talented guy
Creepy Thin man
Tommy Wiso looks like Chucky's human form, Charles Lee Ray, from the Chucky films
🤣 Charles Lee Ray
Leaving Las Vegas 👍🏼
Tommy wiso is the biggest failure that somehow became a success through something beyond incompetence. Don’t forget to “Hawk-Tuah” on that thang when you’re crying about others being famous for nothing.
Making a bad film with horrible acting is bad behaviour? He only became famous to be made fun of, i don't think that's a reward
@ the way he treated the cast and crew is what made him a bad person.
@Pyrok007 I didn't know about that, it makes sense then
Or as we say in Ireland "they're a bit of a character"
We say that in the US too
I'm with Busey was one of the most incredible shows. If you like Busey's humor and personality...it's pure gold.
Orson Welles. The Greatest Actor Of All Time.
i love klaus kinski!! His insane passion is always an event to watch. He's wonderful.lol
Was great to see Travolta in this list.
4:55 The one who played 6 in Shane Ackner's stop motion film 9! Now THAT was a movie!
I'm with Busey!
Finally I agree with Mojo.
Klaus Kinski definitely number 1. When a tribe plots to kill you because of your antics, you're definitely eccentric 😂
'' You're tearing me apart Lisa!" 😂
Thankfully Brando chilled out enough to work with Norton and DeNiro on “The Score,” and for director Frank Oz, of all people.
Two other actors worth mentioning are Woody Harrelson and Shia LaBeouf. Both have been known for their eccentric bahaviors. Kind of surprised neither one was on this list.
I didn't know Woody was all that eccentric. Interesting.
If you are member of a german language chatroom there is a high chance that you have seen a video of one of Kinski's many rants.
Calling Wiseau an actor is a bit of a stretch
7:04 Damn 😂
Crispin Glover’s cover of These Boots Are Made for Walking is worth checking out
Where's Walken?!😮
He did not pay to be added. Wiseau did so he got added.
This list is not even close to being complete. You could add:
Joaquin Phoenix, Christopher Walken, Aubery Plaza, Jake Gyllenhaal.
🌱👑✨
Nicolas Cage is truly a "National Treasure"
I know it's too far in the past to have footage of him but Henry Irving was a maniac. His theatre manager was some guy named Bram Stoker.
No mention of Christopher Walken, WatchMojo?
Just why?
No need to mention him. We all know who is king of quirky & eccentric.
COWBELL
Or jim carrey
“I got a fever!! And the only prescription is MORE COWBELL!!!”
Klaus Kinski didn't have only quirks, he was diagnosed with psychopathy which added to his erratic behavior.
0:20 If Owen Wilson never broke his nose
"Dear diary, this is Gary...........................Busey"
Who the f is Tommy Wiseau? The 10 most eccentric actors in history? Did he pay you, to be added to your list?
Marlon Brando was also a real troll. When filming the Godfather he hid extra weights in his bed when they had to carry him up the stairs as it did not look really convincing they had to carry him.
Orson Welles was the original choice for Darth Vader's voice
Wow, they're all eccentric as hell.
Klaus Kinski is incomparable to any other actor in terms of insanity
Hey there! I totally agree, the eccentricity of these actors is what makes them unforgettable! I love how each one has their own unique flair. Who's your favorite from the list? Let's hear your thoughts!
No Shelly Duvall?
I know bits about Tommy Wisseau, I know Tilda Swinton just as an actress, Andy Kaufman bits, Crispin Glover I certainly knew about his reputation, Orson Welles I only knew some things, Nicolas Cage I guessed, Gary Busey and Marlon Brando I knew of too of their rep.
2:40 & 2:58 It’s really fun to say that eh?
Having been gifted the premiere of this movie, and not being a Dylyn fan, I found this movie refreshing. It took me back to a time when music was king and people were always friendly and honest. I discovered that many of Dylan's songs had touched my life. It was a great experience.
Crispin Glover would have made an excellent Joker.
A list without James Spader & Joaquin Phoenix is invalid.
You forgot John Malkovich
What about Jeff Goldblum or Johnny Depp or John Travolta?
Nicolas Cage is my favourite.
I Love Andy Kaufman!
What is the difference between eccentric and crazy? Either money or talent.
Brian Busey has brain damage from a motorbike accident. Gary Busey said his dad as he knew him died that day.
I would have loved to actually hear those actors in some interviews instead of the guy blabbering without ever taking a breath.
Eccentric? I don't know the word
No Peter Sellers
Frances McDormand

Jim carrey the most
Jim Carrey?
kinski
Afternoon
I met Gary Busey at a convention. He's a jerk.
Robin Williams was probably the best kind of eccentric, and who the hell is Klaus Kinski?
Hello good morning ❤❤❤
being in one film that you funded and directed does not make one an actor 😐 don't try making him relevant again
Let's talk about buttered sausage
Jim Carrey should've been on this list
Every single one of those actors is a Clause Kinski wanna be!
29 seconds!
