    "No visible marks" that goose egg on his forehead looked huge on TV, I can't imagine how big it was in person up close.

    What saved him from serious injury (and possibly even saved his life) is he was able to angle his head back JUST A LITTLE before impact (which is why the ball ricocheted way up in the air). If his head would have been straight up and down at the point of impact, this could have been a tragic outcome.

    As a goalie in hockey i see players dive in front of 60 mile an hour slap shot(if shooter is good). I always cringe when i see another player hit. I have gear on and it still hurts.
