Really makes me wish there had been a George Harrison Unplugged concert made and recorded for distribution. His voice and guitar by themselves was more than enough to make magic.

Everybody has a favorite Beatle and George was mine because he was the lead guitar. I remember how he struggled to sing with John and Paul who had super voices. And it was George that dragged the Beatles off to India and turned all of us on to a higher consciousness. My Sweet Lord was as good as Imagine! This was a great interview! I wish the Beatles had never broken up and that they were still around.

THnaks! i could listen to him talking for hours..George was a spiritual artist. He sought after greater purposes of life and gave music to his inner feelings and revelations in a rock era which was itself a challenging task to do.He was really unique. George goes beyond The Beatles imho.

      There’s no one like him.
You add the talents, the looks, the voice, and The fame and that doesn’t even scratch the surface of who he was. There’s just so much of George that he has yet to share with us. He’s an old soul that just never died.

29:29 Just meeting Paul again -- cause we drifted off away from each other -- with all the sue me sue you blues -- whatever we've been through -- but there's always been something there that has tied us together - it's like we've come through a big dark tunnel and we've come back out the other end & we're ready to pick up and be friends again.
29:38 John Lennon's an amazing person - he is brilliant - he is brilliant - there's no question about it, John Lennon is a saint and he is heavy duty and he's great and I love him -- but at the same time he is also a bastard! But that's the great thing about him, you see."

Heard this interview when it was first broadcast and managed to tape most of it on an old Grundig reel to reel tape recorder. Subsequently transferred it to cassette and then CD. This is a slightly edited version from the original transmission so it would have been nice to have heard the full version but still good after some 48 yrs RIP George & Alan

Who is shooting clay pigeons in the background? Or firepit crackle? Or jellybeans... Anyway, a great interview, such a soothing voice and a soulful leader. So well spoken later in life since the day he was deported from Hamburg for being underage. Astounding how much he grew once he found Spirituality.

I'll tell what is sad, Brian Jones; he was shadowed by Mick & Keith, largely for he couldn't write songs, or sing. And he was too proud to accept his third part position.
George was a perfect match in the Beatles - his smoother personality, nothing like Brian's ego.
