Nice update Mikey......about 49 year's ago I was Flt Eng on CUE, ferry flight from OW to Edmonton, after major o/haul, we had a #1 eng failure and made an emergency at Saskatoon, about a week prior to Xmas. Have a good trip to Oshkosh Bud, you leave on my 89th Birthday (Yikes!).

Nice to hear from you Mikey! You look a bit less stressed than you were a month or so ago, LOL. Very happy to hear that good things are coming for Team Plane Savers. Thanks for the look inside the DC-3 CUE. As a larger guy, (6-4 and about 270) I could not help bbut notice what appeared to be a lot more legroom in that bird than there is in the dang cramalot-in configuration most of the airlines today seem to favor. One of the reasons I avoid commercial flights like the plague anymore. Looking forward to seeing what develops...take care.

A guy at my RC club had a badly bashed weather beaten DC3.. Was hoping to buy it, to turn it into a DTD Plane Saver.. Its a difficult model to fly and keep in the air, sadly looks like will have to wait till the next heavy arrival on the ground which may be its end....
I ditto Graham Hunt's idea, as I was thinking the same. I'm sure people would pay a premium price per seat to tour Buffalo Airways facility, and then shuttle people to a nice fishing lodge. Probably keep the flight in Canada due to all the restrictions/certifications required. Also would be a challenge to purchase fuel as I imagine Av-Gas is still harder to source. Hey Mikey, In the intro above, you say Arriving the morning of Monday, July 23rd, 2019, Flying out the morning of Saturday, July 28th, 2019, the only problem is that in Australia and I suspect in North America too, Monday was the 22nd and Saturday will be the 27th. So when are you going to be at Oshkosh with DTD, Monday to Saturday or 23d to the 28th LOL? I can't wait to see your arrival and reception. Cue has a freight door so I wouldn't be at all surprised if their was a freight floor under that "passenger.ish" floor. CUE looks like it was converted quickly.

En el aeropuerto internacional de Mérida Yucatán México hay por lo menos 4 DC-3/C-47 abandonados y en la Base Aerea Militar No.1 en Santa Lucia Estado de México hay por lo menos 2 DC-3/C-47 en el abandono, ojala plane savers pudiera hacer algo por ellos y que pudieran volver a volar estas hermosas maquinas. She is so gorgeous with the cowl paint. Hope DTD gets that someday soon. As well it was SO AWESOME to meet up with Spaghetti Don on saturday during the tail end of his top secret mission.

The best part with having normal Payloader DC-3 seats in as you can make as much leg room as you want :)
Loved the tour of CUE! I love the idea of scenic tours in CUE, not sure if it would be economnically viable tho.
