Temtem came pretty close to capturing the charm of more modern Pokemon titles and it definitely scratched the itch... Cassette Beasts looks like it will do the same for the older pokemon titles!
It's not the new Pokémon but man I love the game so much. It's a unique and fresh take on the monster taming genre. I played the demo and couldn't wait for the full release. I've been enjoying it since. Just play and have fun, stop comparing all monster tamers to Pokémon
Cassette Beasts is NOT a Pokemon-Like. It's a Monster Taming game yes, but it has a lot of differences to the Pokemon Series. So it's definitly NOT "The new Pokemon for PC". It's a unique and great experience on it's own. If you're looking for a Pokemon Like I can recomment Coromon and Nexomon for example
This looks great and I have it wishlisted! TemTem does a pretty decent job at being a modern Pokemon alternative, and I think this will serve that nostalgic itch. One thing I immensely appreciate is the focus on having a good story with a decent number of monsters. The original Pokemon, and I would go as far as Gold and Silver, would a good bunch of games that I enjoyed as a kid. After that, I lost interest and became overwhelmed at GF's attempt at shoving more monsters onto the screen and lacking in game innovation in story. So, since you guys appear to be focusing on narrative, I hope that means you will continue to do that with possible future sequels.
Nexomon is kinda... bland in my opinion, at least as far as battle is concerned. Nexomon can only learn moves related to its type (something that they changed from the first game), and there's no real "pizazz" to its combat. I pray they revamp it in the next Nexomon game.
Nexomon is honestly one of the most boring pokemon like games I've ever played. Check out literally any Fanmade/rom hack pokemon game, most of them blow nexomon away. Coromon is also substantially better than nexomon (1 or 2)
That's such a lame concept for a game like this. What's the point of having those games on PC, if it still has the graphics that my fkn GameBoy Color could run?
Games of all types are embraced on the PC platform, that is what makes it so special. I don't care if it is retro 16-bit graphics, or a game that is pushing cutting edge technology, or something that falls in between. If it's fun to play, then it is far from a 'stupid concept'. Also, keep in mind that not every developer can afford to make a AAA game. They likely had a limited budget and made the best of it. Kudos to them.
Honestly some people don't care about graphics and care for gameplay and the experience. Most triple A high graphics intensive games have no heart or soul, just a fancy coat of shiny paint.

Because many love sprite-style games.
