I’ve done a local enduro in my local area for the last 3 years, and I absolutely adore this kind of racing. For ‘25 I’m hoping to dip into some other enduro races in neighboring Ohio and Southern Ontario Canada. So much fun
Good day, I have immigrated from South Africa and been in NZ for 5 years. I still mountain bike alone as I do not know how to get involved in riding with groups. Coming from SA I mountain biked at Giba gorge with a group of up to 15 of us and I miss the social interaction with fellow MTB. I am trying to get more social involved in the MTB sport. I live in Hamilton but willing to drive. Also how do I go about finding about these MTB races?
Races are a good way to meet people and cater for all abilities. I guess your locals are Te miro and Pirongia. Both have clubs and FB pages. Send them a message about joining group rides. They also do dig days, again a great way to meet people. I find out about races via FB. Follow all the clubs around you. Tokoroa have a good community as well, called cougar Park. This can be weird but ride at busy times and just stop and talk to people. I have met so many people doing this. In fact that is literally how Dad's Army evolved. Good luck.
Good to see Merryn keeping you honest.

Before I started making videos, enduro racing was what I lived for. I loved it but haven't done much since covid.
Wicked, hopefully I can compete next year.
Looks like some nice tracks. Neat drone shots too
Thanks, I must admit the drone doesn't get used much, but it is cool when I can.
Great drone shot
Thanks
Next year I'm going to sign up just to finally see you.
It is a really fun event.
Makes me think of doing the Gravity Enduro here in Western Australia, Cheers Mate 🍻 ✌️
You should give it a go. They are often quite casual and lots of fun.
