      I have heard there are a couple companies comparable in Canada. I will check and let you know.

    Would love to learn how you make your hand soap 😊

      I think i showed it on a video a while ago but honestly can’t remember which one 😬☹️. It’s Super simple and quick. I take a empty and cleaned out forming hand wash container. Fill 3/4 way with water and then depending on the size of the container i add around 2 Tbsp of Castile soap. Put the lid on and shake it and then you have hand soap. I shake it every time before I use it.😊

    Sorry about the bugs. I buy Azure stuff in bulk all the time(over 20 years) and have never had any bugs but I live in Idaho--not much humidity.

      The bugs were 100% my fault and had nothing to do with azure. We are super humid here but i think the issue was me slamming the bucket down on the ground because it was heavy and the bottom somehow cracked. Once it cracked moisture got in and caused the bugs. I have never had bugs in anything before and I use oxygen absorbers in my long term storage so I was confused how they got there. But I realized after i dumped all the rice out that it had a huge crack on the bottom. I also forgot to put that rice in the freezer before I stored it. I like to freeze them for a week before I add them to my pantry storage. But i learned some lessons the expensive way lol

    How can they ship items like sour cream, cottage cheese, cheese in boxes. Don’t they require refrigeration?

    • @sparkmanhomestead
      @sparkmanhomestead  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They ship everything no matter what it is in a refrigerated truck. They also have a freezer section in the truck for frozen stuff.

    Hi there. Do you use that same shampoo or just the conditioner? I’m looking at them and they’re small, which is fine for conditioner but shampoo?? I have a lot of hair. 😂 Thanks!
    Ok. 😂😂 Note to self. Stop asking questions before watching the whole video. Noted!!

    • @sparkmanhomestead
      @sparkmanhomestead  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol 😂 I do use both, and yes they are small compared to what I was buying before. I have VERY thick hair. But I have “trained” my hair that I only need to wash it with shampoo once a week so I save a lot of money on shampoo and conditioner. It took me years though to get to the point of once a week shampooing.

      @@sparkmanhomestead I have thick hair also and am not a daily shampooer. Maybe about twice a week. Give or take.
      I have a bad habit of stopping videos and looking at azure to see what your talking about or asking questions. I need to watch the whole video before asking questions but I’d probably forget. Lol. Thanks for getting back to me. They’re both on my cart.

    So, I'm going to try to put this out there without getting into politics, beliefs, etc. I'm a relatively new subbie (and don't care where you stand, personally) but I don't know enough about you to assess how you will feel about this. I stopped buying Dr. Bronner's products when I learned (ironically through comments on a YT vid) about the policies of the company. Again, don't want to make a controversial stance here, but let's just say they don't have the same convictions of many homesteaders. In fact, when I saw how much they contribute, support, advocate, and actively forward... er, methodologies and narratives I am personally opposed to... I stopped supporting the company. I would never have known if another YT user hadn't commented, and now I am paying it forward. I hold no ill will if you still choose to support. Just making sure you are aware in case it conflicts with your theologies also. Their "About" page looks like a company you would be silly not to support, but when you dig deeper, you may change your mind. Just 2 I remember off the top of my head was support of psychedelic drug use and its decriminalization, and the "abolition of animal use" with a push to eliminate meat from the food industry. Many of their causes seem respectable, at least in the little blurbs, but others leave me with questions. And their self proclaimed "social justice" supports dozens of organizations world wide, leaving me to wonder if the funds are even used for what they claim. I prefer to support companies that leave activism to individuals. Azure carries a bunch of great brands... I have not missed the Dr. Bronner's products. BTW, I have yet to try a Dessert Essence product that I don't love! Our whole family uses their charcoal toothpaste (so much better than Redmond's fluoride free pastes), and I love their hair products. I alternate between the coconut and the fragrance free. They certainly rate better than the big, expensive brands on EWG's ratings, but they're not perfect either. Azure sells a shampoo bar by J R Liggett that is "cleaner" because it doesn't need any emulsifiers. It works pretty good too, but I haven't found a bar conditioner, at least not on Azure's site. I always love seeing other's Azure hauls! And its always kinda like opening presents on Christmas, right?!?

      Hmmm I wasn’t aware of those things. I’ll have to do more research on them. And I love opening up my Azure packages especially when I can’t remember what I ordered definitely like Christmas 🤣🤣

      @@sparkmanhomestead When I first learned they were into social justice, there were a couple groups they were supporting that I did NOT want to have any affiliation with, even peripherally. I went to look after leaving the comment to you and no longer see that one, but those groups have also been out of the main stream media too. I'm usually a live-and-let-live kind of person, but that one used violence and hate under the guise of social justice and righteousness , and I drew the line. Like I said, I much prefer to support companies without public political stances. I have done my best to avoid Amazon after learning how corporate employees are pressured to donate to certain political organizations. Even if I supported those organizations, I wouldn't want to condone that kind of employee bullying. Honestly, there are many reports about Amazon being a terrible employer, but they get seem to skirt any labor law infractions. I only recently saw how many brands I have trusted and supported for years sold out to the big conglomerations... like Annie's is now owned by General Mills. Say what?!? Seventh Generation was bought out a few years back by I think Unilever, and Azure stopped carrying their products because the new parent company made modifications to the formulas of their products. Sometimes I wish I could go back to the time when I had blinders on, but I can only hope I'm making better choices now! It kinda like The Matrix... would you choose the red pill or the blue pill??? LOL
