Anuja, I heard your both, English and Hindi, versions of Dhrupad history. Splendid job. Explanations were relevant and clean. Hindi presentation was well spoken. Congratulations for this work.
You are an encyclopedia of music. You have knowledge of so many things. There are somethings which we feel are impossible to learn. I can tell dhrupad is horrendously difficult. The alap is so difficult my God. It is too tough. It is better to listen and enjoy dhrupad.
For many of us that is enough.

Very informative presentation by charming and cheerful looking Anuja Kamat. I cannot pay her a greater compliment than by wishing that she was my daughter. In addition to her understanding of classical music, she is very good at explaining in Hindi. Wish her all success.
She is good both in her Hindi and English presentations. Also she gives you enough material to pique your interest, but doesn't bore you with too much detail. She has a great talent for making the best use of the available time.

Anuja Didi, that was Fabulous. It just went straight in. Thankyou so much. I was mesmerised by it. You've explained the history of Dhrupad and the style, expertly showing the differences from the other forms of Music. It's really sad that I never had an entry into Dhrupad, even after Learning Carnatic and a bit of Hindustani. I will try to delve deeper into it. Thankyou so much for the most Beautiful way of explaining it. Wishing you happiness and Peace and a lot more fame. Please keep making more of these amazing Videos. They are something that I will always await.

Nice explanation on Dhrupad style.
Before the Indian classical music bifurcated into Karnatic and Hindustani styles, the two had a common origin based on 12 notes, with Sa and Pa invariant and the remaining five notes having two different pitches. This totaling 12 notes.
The Karnatic style retains the original ideas even today with heavy emphasis on the lyrical contents - bandish.
In a 3-h Karnatic concert, while not every song has elaborate slap and percussion solo, one or two items will definitely have elaborate alap, with the vocalist and the violinist getting opportunities to display their skills followed by the lyrics - in terms of pallavi, anupallavi, and one or two charanams followed by the percussion solo. The item ends with all of the three coming together in the end. Here is an example:
Here is the elaboration of Raga Hindolam by the Doyenne MLVadanthakumari:
