Just got the name Neko Case off the radio. How on earth isnt this a name everyone knows? Insane vocals and choir - and geez that band!

Bro I'm very happy yoy found her.. I nevet heard herd of Gillian Welch Robert earl Keen or Jason Isbell before I got a satellite radio in o7 I belive. All of them NC included were certified A listers for a decade at that point. . Keen since 78 perhaps. He was the guy Straight Chesnutt brooks were trying to sound like. Long story short Americans were getting fucked hard by the radio station for 30 years before the interwebs
Cool story gor me. Perhaps the most culturally significant show I've seen and I've seen a lot was Sturgill Simpson playing opening for NC at a local brewery in Indianapolis. His first visit to Nap. First album. Everyonecane to seeCase of course but the entire crowd was like what the fuck was that?
He immediately sold out every show for the next 5 years each time a bigger more important more significant that 5th show ge was after OCMS and before Willie Nelson. But he was in interesting form. He appeared to me Like the literal Reincarnate of Jerry Garcia
Neko is the coolest. It is not possible to be cooler than her.
That gorgeous unmistakable voice. I can't think of anything more magical than stumbling onto new music from Ms Case

Neko Case at the gorge in a hailstorm is one of my favorite concerts of all time! it was chaos, they finally shut down when it started to hurt the singers and you could hear the hail hitting the drums and it being picked up on the drum mics!! everyone tried to hunker down....people were cracking up. it got really cold, concessions stayed open!!! started to drink like ice cold 24 oz beers, it got better real quick. one of the best concert ever!! thanks Neko! thank you mother nature! thanks lots of beer!!
I was there (!) in the standing room, getting hailed on and freezing, and some Canadians came over and tried to cover me with their tarp turned umbrella. I was in the corner and it kept dumping down my back, haha. I think it was halfway through Star Witness when Ms Fox Confessor herself called the flood and they had to stop the show. It was only her second song, I think. Bummer, but in a way unforgettable for sure.

I absolutely love the music from Neko Case and the band. She is one of my favorites from the last decade and I don't have many. Really enjoyed this interview and how she shared the process of her songwriting. I'm always blown away by the melding of harmonies and melodies in her music.

Neko is awesome. I saw her multiple times in Seattle and in Tucson. I love her songs and her fabulously unique voice. She's one of my favorite artists. Thank you, Neko, for such good music.

Unfortunately, with the music industry the way it is, talent like this will only be heard on public radio and never have popular appeal. I discovered Neko on WNCW Spindale years ago and have loved her since.
Neko has had a long and quite successful career. Her recordings seem to sell quite well and her concerts--I have seen her five times over the last two years--are well attended. There are quite a few radio stations in the US as well as all the internet (Spotify etc) outlets. Things are not quite so bad! The music industry is just fine.
True, but who cares about popular appeal. There's substance in this music and if it brings something out in you, that's where it counts.
Yes. Though there's nothing wrong with popular appeal! A "silly love song" can be a pleasant respite from "substance"! Every once in a while we should put the Mahler away and crank up the mirrored ball!
What you said is probably why I never heard of her before today, looking for artists who don't use Autotune to "fix' their voice. She obviously doesn't need it...because she can actually sing.

Saw Neko live last night in Houston! She and band were incredibly awesome! I actually recently retired after playing bass for over 40 years, but was sure enthused to pick-up bass and start playing after seeing Neko Case's concert! Bass player style is right up my taste of playing!

One of my favourite albums of 2018. I've liked Neko Case for a while, but not like this. Hell-On is a fantastic record.
Neko is a goddess, one of the best musicians, songwriter and singers of my generation, and to top it off she is a loud and proud ginger.

And they are fantastic! Saw them a couple of months ago at Red Rocks. Awesome show and Kelly looked like she was having a ball.
