I think this was the game (or maybe one of the next couple years) where you could take the defensive player you were controlling and jump into the other teams huddle and jump back on your side before the ball was snapped. Hahaha! Obviously no real advantage but I always found that extremely hilarious as a kid! 🤣
This is actually john madden football 92, this game came out in November of 1991, the first john madden came out on genesis in november of 1990, the music is similar and pretty much the same but the genesis music is much better, John madden football and john madden football 92 for the sega genesis version is much better then the snes version , in fact all of the madden football game from the first one until the last madden 98 is better for sega genesis, all the snes madden games all much slower then the genesis versions
This game was great but the passing was almost impossible. I always used to go snow/ice or grass/rain for a mud bowl and would only do running plays and win every time
Haha yes, if you played on snow all you had to do was a little juke when the computer went to tackle you and they would fly by every time... I think I scored something like 105 pts in a 5min quarter game once
When I got my snes for Christmas 91 I got this and final fight. Gotta say I hated this game and preferred tecmo bowl, especially after super tecmo came out. Didn’t think madden would become what it has became
@MetalMastodon Gameplay with the Genesis versions was always better in comparison, no matter how much the SNES versions caught up towards the end. The SNES games become progressively more playable, but the Genesis ones were always more fluid.
Indeed. The Mode 7 emulation was done a lot better as with the scaling. Some of the music was butchered too... The game also plays way choppier on SNES. The original 1990 Genesis version looked, sounded, and played way better, which is why I hate it when people say the Genesis wasn't a capable-enough machine. Even for an early Genesis title, it did way better than what SNES could ever do.
@@solarflare9078 the genesis was probably 24 bit truthfully, that cpu was a beast. it was capable of better graphics than snes for sure, but i still prefer the snes library, so i go with the snes. but graphically genesis wins fairly easily

Phantasy- Oh really? It is kinda more about nostalgia for me than quality. I invested countless hours in this game as a kid.
As long as you had fun with it then its all that matters. For me Madden 92 on Genesis was the best of the series. The ambulance was too funny.
