A good choice of scenes. This is probably my favourite Kubrick film. Stanley Kubrick has borrowed a lot from paintings and applied them to film-- a lot of Hogarth for example. It is a work of art.

I think this movie made Ryan O Neil. Marrisa Berenson had a very bad car accident before this project, it was questionable as to how she would look, but she recovered admirably, and beautifully. she was a super star to the time, the world waited with bated breath to see how she had faired.
It's so sad that Barry couldn't appreciate the beauty of Lady Lyndon. Or was that beauty is never enough? Is this the way it always is? You get used to beauty. So much so that it becomes banal. How tragic. Me personally? I'd be content just staring at her all day. I mean, who cares if she's boring and has nothing interesting to say? Do you care if a beautiful piece of art, like a statue, doesn't talk to you? Of course not.
