    The aeroscout with its prop in the back (being a pusher) is a great plane to do fpv with since the prop won’t get in the way of the camera. As usual great video and great content.

    There are plenty of planes specifically made for FPV, but you can also try putting FPV into other planes. It's usually pretty simple as long as there's enough room.

    I am a brand new pilot and I thought the coolest thing with RC Airplanes were planes with floats to takeoff and land on water and perhaps with skis on snow. Wrong! Capturing images and video in the air is now the coolest thing ever and I am now setting some goals to do FPV as this makes this an even cooler hobby. I love high wing trainer style planes so I am thinking I could mount a camera on the side of the fuse back behind the wing for an interesting POV and capture some interesting flights and landscapes. I recently saw one where the person was at the beach taking off of the hard pack wet sand and then flying out and over the water. Oh so cool. So much to learn and research of what to get and how to use it. Subscribed!

    I know it has probably been a year since you recorded the footage, but do you know if you were running the DJI goggles and camera in low latency mode or high quality mode?
    The camera you linked to is capable of 120FPS, if you use low latency mode. However, it will operate at 60fps in high quality mode. The FPV footage in your video looks very similar to 60fps cameras I've seen. I suspect 120 FPS cameras would change the way the prop looks (hopefully for the better), but I don't know.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Camera is a RUNCAM WASP. I ran it in default mode at the highest output power. When flying FPV there is no requirement to go above 30 FPS in goggles. Now if the unit had onboard recording to a micro SD Card then you would select 60 FPS for the recorded file but never 120 FPS because 120 FPS on any camera made by mankind is simply for recording and then playing back at 30 FPS to create 4x slow motion video.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798

      Like all FPV digital cameras by DJI, CADDX, RUNCAM, you need to solder two wires as power.

      @RoddPleas ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CAPTAINDRONE798 Can you provide more details on your camera-to-battery connection? Is it just positive and negative connections soldered to the air unit? Is there an BEC or voltage regulator between the two?

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RoddPleasCorrect just a simple two wire connection that can either run off the balance cable of the battery in the plane or its own battery. There was plenty of space so I simply add its own 2s battery.

    1:31 inset photo shows that the configuration of the main lg results in the less-than optimal location of the mass of the lg.
    regarding the aeroscout: instead of using an optimal thrust line the manufacturer chose to build nose-up moment into the horiz-stab.!!! the result is more drag and a higher rate of energy consumption. the stock power setup is wonky/under-powered. the location of the main lg is abnormal. d

    I would love to do FPV on an fixed wing plane. It would also be nice to have one of those transmitters that gives you the speed an artificial horizon as well. True airspeed would be nice...then it would get like flying a full sized plane, where airspeed is one of the most important things you have to watch while flying. Yes, I had my ground school for my pilots license, but never was able to afford the flight time to get it. Now I would be disallowed do for medical reasons Looks like a lot of fun

    • @kurtzFPV
      @kurtzFPV ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most flight controller software will allow you to use artificial horizon in the osd, since they have a built in gyro. And most allow you to add a small gps the size of a postage stamp for airspeed, position and an arrow pointing back to take off location. You can setup the craft to return to home if the rc link is lost.
