Switching to a B7HS plug should make the engine run cooler, especially thinking as you run a high performance cylinder. I even use B8HS for my 60cc moped as it runs very hot. It is safer running colder than hotter, but it might make it a little bit harder to start.

Yes the 1976 yamaha DT100 cylinder head is probably what Ethan and Ryan copied the design from but most definitely the chamber is a direct copy of a Stage 6 cylinder head
@@darcyhemeon4309 Oh yeah, it's not a direct copy at all. Call it "inspired by". The fin size and density is much higher on the Smolik head than the Yamaha design.
@@darcyhemeon4309 It's not a 100% copy though. There are elements Smolik added that the DT doesn't have, and there are things they omitted as well, such as the horizontal winglets between the fins that direct air down through holes in the head to create low and high pressure zones. Hence "inspired"
Hey LA.The best way to find an airleak is with carb cleaner.Just spray it on a suspected leak area and when you find the leak the rpm will rise noticeably.
Great video! I've been thinking about pulling the trigger on those wheels. But damn you've sold me! Have you seen DLH 127cc engine pre sale? I've never found forks for bicycles with mounts for dual brakes. Funny how a normal bike can do stoppies on rim brakes, but as soon as you add a motor they're basicly useless.
Amazing video. I love that you did coverage of the gemini wheels, i've had my eye on them for a while. Are you using the zeda 80 bottom end on that motor?
Love your videos man, you inspired me to do my first build ever the other weekend, I got the seeutek motor kit and the install was a learning experience but everything came together nice. Haven’t fired it up yet as I have a steady leak coming from the carb and ran out of spare time, hopefully will get her going this weekend and take my first ride!
Carb leaks are normally caused by a bit of junk in the carb that blocks the fuel valve from closing all the way. A quick cleaning usually does the trick. Sometimes a few taps on the bowl with a screwdriver will get you by. This is assuming the carb is not tilted at an extreme angle.
#1 An air scoop for your cylinder head, to help cool it would be pretty easy to build..... #2 The Gemini wheels look high quality (some oval spoke washers for the rear wheel would help make them even stronger) #3 I'd love a 26in steel, full suspension frame similar to a motoped with those Gemini wheels for a build . #4 After paying $75 for the larger "Nasty Jack" expansion pipe, I wish I would have bought the smaller $45 ex. pipe instead. One $45 pipe I seen did have a smaller header tube ID & belly but much better welds & no kinks or obstructions in the header tube bends for better flow & it's probably also lighter. The other $45 chrome pipes had kinks in header bends & worse welds. The $75 "Nasty Jack" pipe does have a larger header ID (& larger belly) but is all crooked, poor welds, with obstructions inside that won't help flow. Plus it's on the heavy side, I'm gonna have to bend the piss out of it to make it fit & hope it works. VS $45 pipe, that I might also have to bend but would have more clearance around the gas tank. In hindsight, not all the $45 expansion pipes are the same but I really wish I would have bought the black one with good welds & no kinks in the header.
You haven't seen real power until youve tried a Piaggio!!! Jk great video! Thanks for the review, good or bad I always love the input. Looking forward to your future content!
This video is literally coming out at a PERFECT time for me! As I’m currently just looking into different wheel sets for motorized bikes. This is mainly because my current rear wheel has a quick release skewer to mount/ dismount the wheel on the frame. It does have a disc break hub so I was able to make a SOLID sprocket mount with it so I do definitely want to use it on my bike for more reliability than a clamp on adapter or rag joint. However, my main concern is that I literally have just that thin little tiny rod that’s holding all that weight and vibration. This is probably why I haven’t yet seen a single one of your bikes with a quick release but I still would really appreciate your input here. Do you think a quick release is a cause of MAJOR! concern on a motorized bike? or can it be left alone until you figure something else out? I do know it’s definitely not something to use for the long term but for now I’m not too sure what else to do, as I don’t think I can use a thru axle on a quick release wheel nor can I thread a bolt on axle through it as a quick release skewer has a much smaller thickness than a bolt on axle. Other than buying a Gemini wheel I’m not sure what else I could do. Any and all input you have on this would be MUCH! appreciated. Thanks so much!
As far as I'm aware it's not the skewer actually holding the weight- it's just holding it in place and the hollow axle is supporting all the weight You can get a fully threaded solid axle from probably any bike shop, online or even just a different wheel that you don't care too much about(it just has to be completely straight (because bearing adjustment with a bent axle is literally impossible to get perfect) and have good threads, just that you'll need to adjust the cup and cone bearings yourself in each of these cases, which can be a pain
Another thing if you are having issues with temp and tach you need a resistor plug or ngk resistor cap. You want a colder plug. We recommend an ngk br7hs or br8hs especially when temps get hot out

But if I could just copy your build, I at least have a solid foundation. For me, having owned two bikes with the chinadoll motors that spent more time broken than running, I am about to throw in the towel and say all of these things are junk. To clarify… your 3rd person view is awesome. If you would let me know that be awesome. If it’s trade secret. That’s ok too. Very impressed with your films
Hey Hover, Why does my bike squeel when releasing the clutch during acceleration? I think the noise is coming from the clutch arm and ball bearing not being greased. Thank you, Even
@@LAHover It sounds like metal on metal grinding. I thought it might be the clutch pads but I have replaced them recently. I think it is the push pin barely making contact with the clutch arm when the clutch is partially released and then it goes away when the clutch is fully released because there is no contact between the push pin and clutch arm allowing it to spin freely hence the reason for the ball bearing. Does the ball bearing spin freely when the clutch is engaged or released?
Hey Quick thought! I'm wondering if you should pop that rear disk brake on the other side of the hub so that oil from the chain won't get on the rotor! That would make the brakes squeak pretty loud.

If we are being honest, you don't take ideas and criticism very humbly. It does seem you are getting better talking about it so, that's good. Competition can and should be friendly. Although I may not be fully convinced that the g2 setup is optimized, I will not deny that Darcy's products (pay for from my own wallet) are strong performers. The work is clean and priced fairly IMO. He has provided helpful information, and been understanding when I make rookie mistakes. When I point out areas I feel could be improved he listens and/or provides feedback. A good example of this is that his clutches now have stronger bucking bars. :) Ride on Builders!
Just wondering why your running that scooter pipe and not the mz, after all you said the mz out performed the torpedo scooter pipe a video or two ago. Just curious.
The Jog seems to cruise allot smoother than the MZ. This pipe was also set up for this bike, and it's a bit cheaper. For my style of riding I'm happy with the Jog :)
Minareu makes an insulator thst goes in between the carb and intake if hest is an issue. I guarantee he is not an issue using an insulator and intake leaks are pretty much non existing. You are using a vm18 . What pilot jet are you using?
@@kjsmolik When cold it idles fine, when hot it just dies (I do adjust everything when the motor is hot). I have had good luck finding the right pilots and adjust the air screw on every other bike. but this one always dies. I'll have an update when I replace the bottom end, I honestly think this one is bunk. It's been rebuilt, re sealed, and had many different top end set ups. always the same. Just an unlucky bottom I think.
@@LAHover you are using a vm18. The stock pilot almost never works. We use a 22.5 pilot. Sometimes a 20. Sounds like you need to change the pilot. If it had an air leak when hot it would idle high. When cold it needs more fuel for start hence why it idles ok when cold. Then once it warms up its to rich. Put in a 22.5, af screw out 1.5 turns then go from there.

Magnet on backwards, CDI wires flipped, Bad connection between mag and CDI, Kill switch issue, Bad spark plug... Take you pick and move to the next one.
I’m pretty sure the point of not letting the cylinder heat up the carb is because the colder the air is, the more dense it is which means u can get more air into the engine. I don’t think it will change much to do with getting colder fuel to prevent overheating. That is definitely an added bonus but the effects of that will be extremely minimal

@@LAHover thanks bro I went threw two phantoms but one they sent has a true yd stamped bottom case the other one seems to be the same thing but it's just missing the stamp but I was thinking more down the lines of putting like the MS 460 or 660 one of those on there because I was reading some posts on the phantoms and his dude said he's on his fifth one lol bro I just want to slap a quality piston and jug on it
@LA Hover could you at some point go over this bike and do a part by part list with links? I'd very much appreciate it.
I did a run down in the video covering most of what is on the bike. Limited by time and energy, but a fair bit of it is in the discription.
@@LAHover While I appreciate your time and energy, doing creative stuff also, (mostly let's plays atm. for lack of gear.) The reason I was asking for a total parts breakdown, is for new builders like me, when I go on amazon, or any other retailer, it's difficult to pour through all the crappy parts to find decent ones. But if I could just copy your build, I at least have a solid foundation. For me, having owned two bikes with the chinadoll motors that spent more time broken than running, I am about to throw in the towel and say all of these things are junk. You seem to have a knack for finding reliable parts. Anyways, just my thoughts, you do great content. Keep it up!
The wheels look real nice, aswell as the bike! Keep up your work! Imagine if you put a 44 tooth sprocket back on that bike, wheelie popping machine?
Thanks! And yes it would be 100% lol
No chain tensioner right ? And total inve$ment thanks Ray from North Dallas Tx..
Dang. My man is riding with the deuce deuce.
I would like to see an update on the phantom 85.
The Zeda Dawn is on its way to my house for the p85 :)
When you first reviewed the Phantom 85, you said that was the most powerful motor you had felt, stock or modified. How does this one compare?
Do you have any bulids selling..ill check Smolik to see if he has. Looking for something similar to this maybe
Slacking the clutch spring but no watch not and no wash bolts ok 👍.
Can you put gein wheel on bike with more than one gear
How much was the entire build
Fooker pedals r nice for the price 14-25 can't beat it it grips
I love your bike but mine keeps overheating i have a stock 80/66 cc idk what head i can buy i cant find any in the nederlands
No thoughts of ever messing with a trike?
Sadly no. If my city had bike lanes maybe.
Nice!!
Yeehaw! She looks nice on those Gemini rims man. After she opens up I'm interested in whether 55 mph is possible here. Yd100 is running. Got a MZ65 clone on it now. Sounds good albeit a little loud for town riding. 110 revival, please? I saw a guy put a 090 Stihl on that bottom end. Might be an interesting vid idea.
He got 52 on a china doll, so it's probably possible for 55 haha
Definitely possible, I've hit 55 on my Minarelli and it's same thing but with a Cortez head.
I have the crank for it, just got to make the time. Might try to get it back on the road next month.
I'm thinking about getting or making a motorized bicycle. I would do more pedaling than motoring. Do your legs hit the motor or gas tank when you pedal?
No, they are well out of the way.
Unless you get a 4 stroke...
A hub on a wheel with speeds?
Hey there I have a question do those CDIs that come with the regular 80cc bike kits burn out easily I've bought two bike kits already and there burned out on both of the kits
We’re can I get the Gemini rims
Hi my friend. How much is this one gonna cost me? Bwwwahhhaa! That is a beautiful bike .Any chain stretch?
How did you capture that footage? First 5 mins in? A guy needs to know
To clarify… your 3rd person view is awesome. If you would let me know that be awesome. If it’s trade secret. That’s ok too. Very impressed with your films
Were you get the motor from I need one that’s fast
Hey Hover,
Why does my bike squeel when releasing the clutch during acceleration? I think the noise is coming from the clutch arm and ball bearing not being greased.
Thank you,
Even
Without hearing it I can't say for sure. But if it goes away after your bike reaches speed it is likely just low quality clutch pads.
@@LAHover chain was hitting the frame.
can i ask what this entire setup has cost you
Where you get the handlebars for your bike I got the same fork from the zero gas tank frame and I'm looking for handlebars
These ones are a stock set of Huffy Cranbrook handlebars that I cut in half.
Hey Quick thought! I'm wondering if you should pop that rear disk brake on the other side of the hub so that oil from the chain won't get on the rotor! That would make the brakes squeak pretty loud.
No set up for it with these wheels but it is a good idea. It's nearly impossible to prevent the pads from getting contaminated on the drive side.
@@LAHover gotcha! That makes sense!
What is the link to this discord server? Is it still active? Even if its not I would love to be able to search through for answers.
Sounds like a 125cc and Sweet.Glad you found some awesome wheels for all that power.AFV is for the vids where you just rip the spokes out of a standard rim while punching the throttle, but we'd get a chuckle here too.Rather see you safe though. Thanks for the great info.Happy Trails.
Lol thanks builder :)
Beautiful quality wheels 😮🤟🙏🤠
Check out surfas drifters. They are one of tge best tires you can use for tge street. They are made from kevlar and are very strong. No chain clearance issues.
Sweet! Thanks again for the recommendation.
?hav u herd about a RDM Products
What tires did you end up going with for the Gemini wheels?
I hope Darcy doesn't get "upset" over this. Good luck!! Great video! 👍Sometimes you have to see what's best for YOU. All of these set ups have their pros and cons. Also depends if your out for speed, or dependability.
What is thier to get upset about . Great video LA Hover did , did I miss something , it showed all my performances products... performing well. Don't you think , he's has my PowerStorm system , my SAF Super Clutch keeping the power to the wheel and my performances cylinder pulling hard , LA hasn't even fully tried it out . Not even opened up the throttle lol
If we are being honest, you don't take ideas and criticism very humbly. It does seem you are getting better talking about it so, that's good. Competition can and should be friendly. When there's drama in the group, it gets around quick in this small and growing community. You do great work, and know your sh@t, but you don't like to hear any other ways of doing things. Stick to what you do, and stand by it, and make your money. Just like autos, there's lots of options, but it doesn't always have to be a competition. Proof is in the 2-stroke pudding.
@@garylee7774 well when you get personal messages from these guys and thier groupies saying how thier going to run you out of business every chance they get , you kinda get defensive ! I can tell you a few things about DLH Performance is that I always give quick service for products, I'm always available to help you , I give instructional videos to help you achieve your goals, and I'm developing new products to help others . I also stand behind everything I sell making my door open for clients anytime
@@darcyhemeon4309 that's definitely not good. When I had my CB shops, the competition was TOUGH, but I had to realize, arguing with those people only drove customers away. Keep up the good work, keep it honest, ignore the idiots, and people will respect you a lot more. You're doing great stuff. Happiness is is the key to life. We only get one chance at it!
Ride on Builders!
What is the size of that wheel ? Very nice awesome!
26", rim is 1.75" wide
Just wondering why your running that scooter pipe and not the mz, after all you said the mz out performed the torpedo scooter pipe a video or two ago. Just curious.
The Jog seems to cruise allot smoother than the MZ. This pipe was also set up for this bike, and it's a bit cheaper.
For my style of riding I'm happy with the Jog :)
@@LAHover ok... smooth is always king, power is not
As important as comfort, imagine that! Very cool thank you Hover.
Minareu makes an insulator thst goes in between the carb and intake if hest is an issue. I guarantee he is not an issue using an insulator and intake leaks are pretty much non existing. You are using a vm18 . What pilot jet are you using?
If my memory is right it's the stock pilot atm.
@@LAHover is it a high idle issue or it just dies
@@kjsmolik it's back to stock because smaller pilots made it worse. It's weird... Even the pz20 and pz19 that run and idle great on my Southern Custom hybrid do the same thing on this motor.
Do you Maryland have a window piston in it
Piston is windowed.
Maybe I missed it, but what was the top speed?
What’s the top speed?
can you ride the bikes in the rain/wet im sure you have been asked this before but all the forums are giving me mixed answers
I do it all the time.
I even made a video about it, where I all but drown a running motor, lol enjoy.

What's the RPM on this engine
I live somewhat near you, I'd love to contact you in possibly buying or trading for some of your spare parts. I've followed you recently in the last year and have been binge watching your videos in the hopes to motorize my 60s model Schwinn I got from my in-laws.
I like at 1:46 when the wheel goes from spinning backwards to forwards.
Lol, magic!
its the g2 reed it needs port mached
Any idea why my anbull just stopped working makes a loud single pop won't fire up tho
Magnet on backwards,
CDI wires flipped,
Bad connection between mag and CDI,
Kill switch issue,
Bad spark plug... Take you pick and move to the next one.
@@LAHover you mean the 1 o'clock position? It has spark
May need to do some digging on this one. Feel free to join the discord server for live help. Link in the discription.
@@LAHover I'll have to make a new one old discord was accessed when my phone was stolen
That set up u have l.a is bad ass sounds amazing
You haven't had power, till you hop on a running motorized bicycle. 👍
What exhaust is that?
I’m pretty sure the point of not letting the cylinder heat up the carb is because the colder the air is, the more dense it is which means u can get more air into the engine. I don’t think it will change much to do with getting colder fuel to prevent overheating. That is definitely an added bonus but the effects of that will be extremely minimal
Thanks for the feedback :)
