I only have trouble talking when I begin to worry about the process of talking. When I'm only concentrating on what I want to say, and I don't care about the mechanics of speech, then I"m perfectly fluent.
Learned this few days ago its about deep breathes and resting your diaphragam muscles, its actually the cause of it and 90% are mental. I work in customer service and i have this sucks so bad but i still excel on what i do😂
I love this video. Thank you for sharing it. You're the only speech coach who has addressed how stammering can affect how people perceive you and the struggle of hiding behind a different persona. I started stuttering age 11 and have spent my life playing a character to mask my stutter, and it's been exhausting. This has led to depression, low self esteem and social withdrawal. I’m tired of isolating myself and hiding. Life is too short to live like this. Thank you for your course. I’m ready to take action and embrace who I am.
Thanks for your advice, Marcus! I do use my own techniques, some of which I've learnt along the years and others which I devised myself. I've also started to implement your tips and they're proving to be useful. Stammering is a tough condition not easily beatable, so you need a lot of hard work, dedication and persistence to reach a durable desired level of fluency, which allows you to function well in your daily life. I also like your concept of not thinking in terms of either black or white, that is either becoming a perfectly fluent speaker or remaining a stutterer, but of aiming at a goal percentage. This takes off a lot of pressure. 😊
Its deep breaths from the diaphragmam try it i need to speak everday because im a customer service rep working ffom home. And it works its the diaphragam muscles thats causing this it goes hard which causes blockage to airflow, when stressed and anxious
Hey Marcus, Can you please make a video of your best books that you recommend for Stuttering and show the books that you’re currently reading and it showed the books. They’re in your bookshelf I’ve been curious about that.
Amzing video . Marcus when i call anyone in the phone my hands become so wet i think because of worry and my heart starts to kina like beat faster than normal . what should i do ?
There’s no way for me to know what the correct answer is for you here because everybody is different. But just like anything else it’s about developing a system, a daily routine and practicing your speech skills over and over again in many different situations (like talking on the phone).
He’s right. Over exposure to the things that make you anxious as a stutterer is the answer, E.g. talking on the phone. The more you do it the more desensitised to it you’ll become. Then one day it won’t affect you anymore and the nerves will just magically disappear. Face your fears! That’s the only way to achieve anything in life. Everything you want in your life is on the other side of fear. I’m a stutterer too and am beginning to realise this ❤
@@shesadreamer22If you want we can talk better in another social media platform , so we can share stories , talk a little , this will help me and you , what do you think ?
More fluent vs. Open stutter...which is better? Looks like Steve's teacher was right. You can't make it with a stutter...he only made it after supposedly getting rid of it.

Stuttering isn't a disease, but just some mind control problems.
I think my stuttering mainly comes from my airflow, blocking my speech
The same with mine. You have any technique you use to reduce stuttering
Same here. For me is trying to rush my word out and it just gets stuck
