What an incredible woman to speak so selflessly about the traumatic experience of giving birth and then immediately going to see her husband as his life was drawing to a close. Thank goodness those three girls have each other. Heartbreaking.
This is heartbreaking. Such a young couple with such beautiful little angels. I hope they all sound a way to cope with their loss. Bless them. Rest In Peace Brett and keep sending your angels feathers so they know you're watching them still.
I cannot fathom the amount of pain this family have endured, the joy at new life and the sadness of one cut short far too early. My heart is shattered at this story, I don’t know anyone who hasn’t lost someone to cancer. For me it was my Grandfather, grandmother and uncle.
So sorry for your loss. Life can be cruel so is God. My late husband died of cancer too. He used to say God gave me the most cruel disease and i did not asked for it. RIP ❤
When you have a spouse in a Hospice one of the things they ask you to do is to 'give your spouse permission' to die. Weird though it might seem it stops them from fighting to stay alive for you. The last sense to go is hearing and Nicola gives Brett her permission to let go by saying 'Don't hurt yourself anymore'. RIP Brett and your bravery comes shining through Nicola.
@jarenong I'm sorry are you living on the same planet as us? Cancer is such an evil disease and looking at how much Brett was happy with his wife and children only for cancer to take him like that. How is that in any way happiness?
Any country in which 1 of every 2 of their citizens contracts cancer should be ashamed to beg the public for money. This is the direct responsibility of the public health system. Stop begging for pennies. Make your government step up and address this appalling statistic.
‘Contracts cancer’? It’s not a viral disease, that’s not how cancer works… This is not unique to the UK, the statistics are the same worldwide. It is the role of public health to treat people with cancer, but I for one am more than happy to donate to research in cancer to help discover more effective treatments. Your comment is appalling.
Do you have any understanding of how people receiving a cancer diagnosis and treatment, and their families often receive support? It’s not through their insurance companies or the government, it’s through disease specific non profits, like this one. If they don’t fundraise, they can’t provide patients with need-based grants for travel, hospital stays, etc. and fund ongoing clinical trials and studies to help make medical progress that might one day end cancer. But of course…keep yelling about your entitlement.
Omg that breaks my heart 😢. God bless you and your daughters.
"I miss my daddy" those last words just broke my heart...💔

He was my teacher when I was at school. A year after died, my Dad died from the same disease. Its crazy...both of them, brilliant men🖤
I am so very sorry to read about both of these men who were clearly so well loved. I hope you are somehow getting on ok.

We was watching SUTC Bake Off and this story... Although I'd seen it before it still hit like the first time 😭
It sounds like we need to make more efforts to prevent cancer, and not just to treat it.
This is evil, to see a father and husband be taken from his family like that. Its just evil.
This is happiness

I live in the states with private healthcare, and the stats aren’t any better.

Wow just wow you realise this isn't to pay for treatment right? It's for supporting families, research etc.
Keep your opinion to yourself
